well i got here back from tr racing saturday. new crank and forged pistons, rob found an as new jun pump in there so bonus made the following power on 1.55 spike 1.4 bar held v power : couldnt hold anymore than 1.4 bar as air flow meters are now almost maxed out. thanks tr racing and RIP tweenie rob a part of him lives on in my car

yes resonant rattle at about 3k but quiet everywhere else. and a single rattle when throttle is opened quickly. my mate asked rob about an rb26 fresshen up and it was £3k. im gonna ring him monday and get a rough costing allowing for crank grind but assumeing pistons and cams are ok. its only cost me £4k and at least il start with a fresh engine for me to get the best out off its defo not bad at the moment ive heard engines that have had big end failures and its nowhere near as bad as that. if it is its been caught very early. so a resonant rattle at 3k is a sign of big end failure then mate ?

bargain at £4k and you know it.

i can only get it to rattle if i hold it around 3k rpm or a quick snap of the throttle and it will do it once. knock sensor is seeing some readings at some points. heres a vid of noise i took :

that looks awesome mate i couldnt not by it at 4k worth more than that in bits. its got tein coilovers aswell and i think there pretty expensive new. im gonna take a vid today of cold start up, and try to get the noise on video. its very quiet and hard to get the engine to make the noise. i dont think its terminal shes got 2 bar oil pressure hot idle

2 garrett gt2860 double ballbearing turbos have a flow rate of 700 bhp. so is possible with 2 bigger twin turbos.

i see what your saying but i havnt given it death yet and seemed similar to my old 470 bhp cosworth. i knew it had been tuned straight away as boost comes in late like my cosworth but comes in hard. clincher of the deal though is a close friend of mine is a close friend of the previous owner and car is 100 % genuine. only had the car 18 months and cost £12k ! developed the engine rattle so sold it he was advised bottom end failure.

dunno what light actually is. il look when i drive it again. got a few checks to do first.

i aint bothered at £4k. can get a 30000 miles motor for £3k then just a remap and away, with 2 bar boost aswell maybe

spec is 660c densos, gt2860 db bb turbos, fmic huge, level 3 rad, hks exhausts, twin plate clutch, power fc ecu, apexi boost controller, hks camshafts, nismo n1 oil pump, running 1.5 bar boost for 530 bhp. coilovers. 2 gtst single turbo air flow meters.

i think its awesome for £4k got a slight engine rattle but very small and only at 2.5 k revs or on rattle it throttle is opened fast.

i think that might be down to twin turbos, hasnt got the massive punch a big single has.

dyno proof for the doubters. twin gt28 db bb turbos brand new may 08, fmic, 660 cc densos, 2 single turbo gts air flow meters, power fc ecu commander, splitfire coilpacks.

well i bought it. mapped by rob at perfect touch. pics to follow

the gtr has large fmic and 660cc denso injectors. bb turbos. only one air flow meter is plugged in ? but has apexi monitor thing in car so im wondering if that might be a piggy back ecu thing ?

i dont think the turbos are standard. i drove a standard r33 and the r32 comes on boost later but much harder. gonna have a more in depth look at it tmrw.

what is it with you guys i have said dont think it is 500 bhp but its not impossible on a tt setup. doesnt come on boost til 4k revs so something isnt standard. ive driven a standard r33 before and didnt come on boost nowhere near as hard.

il have to try and find out i think. just dont want to miss a bargain does seem pretty quick. not 500 bhp but defo 400 it felt like.

well im on the lookout for a supra but i got offered this today for £4.5k [sHOCK][/sHOCK] guys reckons its 500 bhp im not sure its that much but it does motor. still on twin turbo set up but has a slight engine rattle but only at 3k revs. above and below this is fine ?
