Which is why the tabloids never quote the views of the majority of Muslims, it doesn't sell papers. Fundamentalism is a danger no matter what form it takes and religious fundamentalism (of any flaovour) especially so

If the friend has tried to make contact it's a good sign. Go and talk to him, ask for contact details and if there's any justice in the world, he'll give them to you. Don't have any preconceptions or expectations of a negative response as that will show in your body language and could be picked up subconciously, thus affecting the conversation. Good luck K.

Why is it that when presented with a view that differs from theirs, some people just resort to personal insult? It's a pretty good indication that they've no valid points to make in a discussion and have, therefore, lost the argument. Deliberately misquoting someone just makes the point all the more obvious. Being abusive just demonstrates a lack of intelligence to formulate coherent arguments. Parents demand, and seem to get, preferential treatment in all sorts of places. For example, the workplace, maternity/paternity leave. Non-parents don't get weeks or months off on full salary and often have to take on extra work to cover the missing person.

No, what I meant to say was I chose not to breed and don't think those that do deserve special treatment just because they successfully had sex once. Breeding is not clever, just about all life forms on earth can manage it. Some of us have the sense to refrain.

That is exactly my point, the doors on the Supe are bigger than your average family saloon which makes getting in and out difficult in narrow spaces. What's the difference between my lifestyle choice and that of a parent? I used to park as far away from shops as possible to reduce the risk of someone parking next to me but, as has been pointed out in this thread, you still get muppets parking next to you, even in an empty car-park. K.

I agree about disabled bays but parenthood is not a disability and I don't see why it deserves preferential treatment. If anything, breeding should be discouraged as the planet is already overcrowded.

If a man said something in the woods and there was no woman to hear it, would he still be wrong?

''copenhagen treaty'' Say hello to world government?
Kevan replied to DODGYDODDS's topic in Off Topic
I am not a scientist, but I am a sceptic. That said, the climate is changing and those changes will have far reaching effects. Who's to blame is irrelevant. Instead of beating people up because they like fast, thirsty cars, why can't we all just settle down and work out a plan for coping with the changes? As far as I can see, the main intent of all these agreements, treaties and protocols is to extract as much money out of us as is possible under the 'green' umbrella which is one guaranteed way to alienate a lot of people and stop them from contributing sensibally to the debate. Mother and baby spaces are a boon to drivers of cars with large doors My view is they have made their lifestyle choice to have kids, mine is to drive a Supe. Both are equally valid and therefore both equally deserve wide parking spaces. So far only one foul-mouthed chavette with several little darlings has argued, but not cohesively (She also parked in a normal space before I drove into the wide bay). K.

Any chance of some pics please? K.

Am I reading that right? You have two owners manuals? If so, could I have the second one please? K.

Thanks guys, this one is about a third the way across a 265 tyre so it should be OK. Assuming there's no further damage inside (One of the provisos that they tyre guys both listed) K.

That's a training issue as the back-office software won't allow more than two current authorisations so it's trivial to find the previous one and take payment. It's true that some filling stations don't like you moving off the pump but the people behind you really appreciate it and surely that's who matters most? As long as you do then stop and pay, what's the problem? ANPR will identify the cars that don't pay anyway. K.

Some careless muppet dropped a fencing staple on the road and unfortunately, I found it with my rear tyre. It's a Bridgestone Potenza RE05, I've spoken to a couple of tyre specialists (Micheldever being one) who have both suggested that the resultant holes could be plugged. I've never had any experience with plugs so anyone here like to comment/advise before I take the chance? TIA K.

You must be well hacked off with these questions by now, am I on the list? Although a member for several months, I only recently realised I hadn't ticked the box for a pack. Thanks K.

I've read this thread with interest, having had slow valve leaks - you can lose a fair bit of pressure before the difference in handling becomes noticable in general road driving. As I have split rims with 90° valves, I'd need to mount in the rim. The only real question I still have is about the banding used to hold them in place. How much does it affect the balancing? And does being wrapped in steel affect the signal? Thanks K.

Good news that you cracked it. Zone Alarm used to be a cracking piece of software and essential on dia-up or with a broadband modem. Now though, with most connections through a router, it's largely redundent. If you want a belt and braces approach, use the Windows firewall that's part of the OS as a backup to your router. It's surprisingly good for a M$ product and has the advantage of being fully integrated in the OS. K.

Having downloaded the .rar and all the .pdf files onto a sandbox, I can confirm that they were virus-free on Friday. As with all things online, this can change and you should ensure your anti-virus programs are up-to-date. K.

Just a thought, if Scott and Spike got together they could buy the set between them and each have the bits they wanted. -
PS, the latest Apple OS is also causing grief, so that's not neccessarily a solution. K.

If you can run Vista, then you can install Win7. Your only issue will be with drivers and as they share the same kernel, that should be trivial to overcome. With regard to the original issue, is it an ethernet connection to a router or USB to a modem? Have you installed all the patches/hot fixes? If it's ethernet, have you downloaded and installed up to date NIC drivers? What router are you using and have you upgraded the firmware? Can you get hold of another router/modem to swap out as a test? If using a router, can you get someone to plug in a different PC/laptop whilst you're using yours to see if they both drop at the same time? That should keep you occupied for a while (or, possibly, I'm teaching my grandmother to suck eggs) K.
