John Just so I have some understanding, do you know why I had to use the 360.com service to send emails over 3g?

I do have one but I don't use it, I will give it a go, even if it's just to prove it does work. If push comes to shove I will just end up using my MobileMe email a lot more. These days it's such a pain in the butt changing email address when every things linked to it. I can't be arsed with having accounts linked to accounts just to make something work

Ok mate, . I'll be interested to hear what you find out. As you have probably guessed I don't know much about this but it does sound like a very odd thing to do, considering most people are now using smart phones. The only thing I can think of is its Vodafones way of saving money.

From what I've read that is also an issue. Apparently if you send an email using that method all replys will go back to gmail. This isn't just an Orange email problem. Vodafone are not going to supply a SMTP service anymore

I've done quite a bit of searching on this but can't find a definitive answer and was hoping someone on here could help out. My mobile contract is currently with Vodafone and I have been using 360.com as my outgoing mail server, for my Orangehome emails. Vodafone have anounced they a stopping the 360 service at the end of the month, with means I won't be able to send emails using my Orangehome email account when I'm using 3g. They say I will have to use an alternative like gmail or hotmail, which to be honest is a really pain in the butt. I don't know all the technical terms or how this all works, but am I right in thinking 360.com was relaying my outgoing emails, and if that is the case, is there a solution that doesn't involve changing my email address. Hope that makes some sense.
