  1. Cheers, thanks for you replies. It’s interesting to hear your views on the subject. lol i really don’t miss all that with windows. Come to think of it I don't miss windows at all. Sounds like good advice. At the moment I have time machine running on an external hard drive for the time being. Very clever how you can instantly go back in time and retrieve a file. I will take a look at clamxav later today. I don’t think it will hurt to run a scan from time to time just to be sure. Your back on the porn then?
  2. Blimey they were the days I remember those gigs. I saw Metallica at Wembley arena.,there was no support band so they came on and did a 3 hour set:d. Megadeath supported them when we saw them at the Milton Keynes Bowl.
  3. I’ve recently moved over to a Mac and I’m after some advice regarding antivirus. All of the people I’ve spoken to so far who own Macs don’t seem to run any form of antivirus what so ever. After some reading up on the interweb and from what I can gather most people don’t run any just because the risks are so low even though there a a few nastys out there. So my question is do you guys run any form of antivirus / spyware as a precaution?

  9. Sold Hi guys I have the following up for sale: 2 x Technics 1210 MK2 Turntables 1 x Pioneer DJM 600 Mixer 1 x Sony MDR V700 Headphones Everything is in perfect running order. The turntables, mixer, and headphones are unmarked but both turntable lids are slightly scuffed and one has a crack at the rear (see the close up picture). I only have the manual and box for the mixer. Theses items will be for collection only due to there size, so you’re welcome to try before you buy. This package new would cost around £1400. I am looking for £900 ovno. Regards Scott
  10. Check out the N.I.C.E.I.C website here bud, lots of useful information for home owners. While your there have a look at there detailed guide 'Consumer unit replacement in domestic premises'. It won’t tell you how to do it but it will tell you what’s required.
  11. Cheers guys I'll do just that you've all been very helpfull. I owe you all a beer
  12. Cheers bud think I’ll have to go with that. As you may have guessed I’m no expert on this so just need to clear a few things up first. Are you saying if I do a re-format from a windows xp cd my data will still be there? To perform the re-install do I just select ‘install a fresh copy of windows without repair’ option?
  13. I was hoping I was going to be able to just repair it so I didn’t have to go about reinstalling and then spend days updating, installing programs and the updating the installed programs. Do you think this is my best option now? I have just got back from a mates and he’s retrieved a lot of my data from the hard disk. I think I have most of it but something’s telling me I’ve forgotten something. I bet I remember as soon as I hit the no going back after this button. Now how much is an imac?..........
  14. Just tried that still no joy. After the chkdsk it said one or more repairs were made or words to that effect. Just tried this still nothing.
  15. Before logging in after the windows logo
  16. I just login by clicking one of two users
  17. Ok just checking:) No mate that does the same thing:( I wouldn't doubt there knowledge and advice for one minute bud. I was just checking and was interested to know what it would do before I tried it. I really appreciate all the advise people have given me so far. Just tried that same old blank screen of death:( I’ve followed Daman C’s advice performed a check and some repairs were made. I then went back and tried wkdtime’s advice and this time it said it was successful. Unfortunately it still has the same symptoms. Before I get radical and reformat the disk is there anything else I can try? Regards
  18. What will happen if I do this? Will I keep my data?
  19. OK done that and got a repair option. It now says 'please wait while setup initializes your windows xp configuration and at the bottom initializing configuration but seems to have frozen. Am I now officially fooked?
