I have a spare set of JDM injectors which presumably means they are Denso injectors on an injector rail that I purchased as a spare set. PM me what price you are thinking for the 6 injectors and rail and then I'll decide if its worth looking out the part and sending pics.

Quick translation - Does anyone know of a guy called Ian Callahan and have a contact address or number for him.

for sale Staggered BBS Wheels with Original Centre Caps
rider replied to Spunkmeyer's topic in Parts for Sale
I have the same wheels on my Supra but in 17" guise. I was looking for a 18" set about 5 years ago to sub for my smaller rims but since then gone all OEM and buying up sets of those instead as I think thats where the back to the future lies. £300 is a bit of a steal so anyone looking out for a set of decent wheels should steal them ASAP. -
for sale Staggered BBS Wheels with Original Centre Caps
rider replied to Spunkmeyer's topic in Parts for Sale
Was a time when these 18" BBS wheels with the centre caps would sell for £600 alone. Probably best to stick on eBay as a full set with functional centre non BMW branded caps is rare. -
Seeing there is no interior pic you'd have to figure 99% of Americans will just assume the sterring wheel is on the left. It can only end in tears. The picture outside the community centre looks very familiar. Sure this car spent a long time on car and classic a year ago with the story of older gent finding car too low to get in and out of.

My daughters were give their first cars on their 17th birthdays and insured in their name, as the vehicle owners. One insurer did a strange thing to us, in that the moment the policy holder passed the insurance lapsed without any repayment of the unused 12 months cover. It was in the small print and they didn't cover newly qualified drivers. So that was effectively 6 months wasted in unreturned premiums and lost time towards NCB. So if you take insurance out in your sons name do check its not a policy that lapses as soon as they pass. Black boxes record the smoothness of driving and monitor speeding. They have to be careful with this as after a set number of warnings the insurer will reserve the right to cancel the policy and probably without any refund. Its better for the parent to give the kids their own policy so they can start building up their own driving record and if they do have an accidents, its their premiums that get affected (even though you might be the one paying it) and not your own. Both of my offspring passed first time (the extra tuition home driving gives probably helped) and they both have built up their own no claims to the number of years they have been driving. Just do check its not one of the flaky insurers that will insure learner drivers but not newly qualified that you end up going with.

Assuming you are onto jspec hub sensors then you could try and track down non OE alternatives for the rear: STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS ALS1467 {#8954514010} cost around £200 Thats a rear right, the rear left seems to be a bit of a problem. I was working on tracking these down to a China or Taiwan source but its a bit of an unfinished project. got as far as some read across part references which I haven't verified as correct but may provide some useful cross reference at least on the sender unit as wiring can always be cut and soldered: LEFT HAND SENSOR TOYOTA 8954614010 STANDARD MOTOR COMPANY... It is the kind of price you are seeing now for top grade low km import through the main established importers. This car is being offered by some back street dealer so there wouldn't, I'd imagine, be the same backup if things don't go well. So I personally wouldn't be comfortable with that price unless I was buying through a recognised and established importer that has experience with Supras. If you go to the likes of torque-gt or jm imports they should be able to find you a car at a similar price to your own requirement, in Japan, and you would then have reputable backup should any issues occur. Even today, privately, for £20k you should expect a pretty immaculate TT6 with lots of history. Thats another potential issue with fresh imports, they tend to lack history and even if it comes with some documetation, how good is your Japanese?

I don't think about that at all as its not a car that would interest me. Rather its a comment that could lead to that conclusion or even misconception. It also bags people to raise a question 'so what problems have you had?'. Discussing problems past, present or imaginary is never a good frame of mind to get anyone to buy into a sale and it can only detract from the value you can realise. You are inviting a negative opening discussion, around problems. When, as you say, they are all fixed so not really relevant. Why offer up an open goal to have buyers come beat you down with when, its not at all relevant to the car as its being sold?
-
I recon its not wise putting in a for sales ad the cars had its problems. Constructive suggestion for an edit. Fuk all to do with 750bhp or anything else.
-
Rarely have I seen an eBay ad with There is honest and a bit too honest. Never having had a problem with a Supra it is always surprising to me when people have problems which I tend to assume is down to the car not being cared for its entire life. But if all is well that's all that matters, I wouldn't normally say all was once not well. Lets hope you find a honest buyer soon.

When you consider the mollycoddled Top Secret car was sold recently for £25k there isn't much shifting Surpra wise over that price, other than shipped on crates and in small boxes. The Cat C really won't be helping either. That usually knocks, depending on who you read, 20% to 50% of the price relative to the level of damage sustained and how much history is with the car - pre repair pics and post repair pics. Seems this car doesn't have that key history to hand. So the Cat C is a very real dampener on the party. Hate to say it, but its going to be worth more crated and boxed.

found Anyone selling there pride and joy....?
rider replied to supra_ufo's topic in Supra Classifieds
Chilli sold his black TT6 for £13.5k in the Spring so you never know. He was on a tight timeframe to moving overseas so it probably need a focussed seller to pick up a TT6 at that price. -
From a journal . And brake balance is influential on performance.

New Diesel & Petrol Vehicles To Be Banned From 2040 In The UK
rider replied to Frank Bullitt's topic in Off Topic
One thing is for certain, owners of classic cars will need to prepare them to run on high alcohol fuels. One thing uncertain is how this will affect e-type values in 20 years time. I think old classics will largely fall and fade into the curio section as those who had them or viewed them in their youth die out. I have already considered buying an electric run around car but waiting till the run of the mill ones can run on a 350+ mile range so you don't have to think about recharging it each and every time you use it. they will be a god send to law enforcement, all wifi linked to Police and DVLA and instantly disabled by frazzle EMR gun or remotely over Bluetooth. Car chases will be a thing of the past. Speeding will be a thing of the past. Road deaths will likely increase because no one hears them coming. -
Blowing the budget on this. I've bought into all new arms for the sub frame. Going to retain and clean up the hubs but fit new bearings and handbrake shoes. Taking into account the cost of the frame, the tratment and painting of the frame, all new bushes, new fuel and brake lines and fuel hoses, new fuel pump and the new suspension parts its all pushing to £5k before any labour taken into account. So not really a project to be contemplated unless you have deep stuffed pockets.
-
Top tip. I've ordered the facelift lower arms so here is hoping it all fits well together.
-
Roughly how much do you charge Chris seeing you are local to me. Would you recommend changing out or having the injectors cleaned, new rings and calibrated, plus clips and coil packs at the same time if they have never been changed in 20+ years?
-
Really appreciate the offer but I have knackered control arms to 'play' from the sub frame I purchased with so was hoping people might want to spread the costs. If there is an interest, maybe the club could even fund it? Then I could seek out the right sized b/j for the various arms and see if I can find a machinist willing to tackle punching out the old joint and machining a new sleeve and seat for a serviceable replacement. If I go ahead and do it on my own I'd probably keep the info and specs proprietary and become to control arms what Heckler is to LEDs. The consensus on b/j seating is if it flops about and can be wiggled with no resistance its already worn and a short time off knocking. A great many of the Supra parts were probably last bulk ordered by Toyota 5 years ago and its just what's left in the supply chain. I'm only looking into the rear suspension at the moment and its not good news on the lower control and track arms. Its not really good news on the other parts either as Lexus and Soarer owners prefer the common Supra upper arms to their own because they have firmer bushing. Replacing joints on non serviceable parts isn't rocket science, Moog makes a b/j specifically for Jeep non serviceable arms. They just haven't got around to doing it for the Supra.

I did wonder how you get a dash to be that scabby and figured it may have been wrapped at some point and that's the film adhesive and scrapes from removing adhesive. For £22k I'd want pristine and the headlights are cloudy, dash is scabby and one wheel alloy is OEM (though I think that picture probably made it to press by mistake). The dents on undercarriage is an interesting one, maybe its been inadvertent off-roading at some point in its life. whichever way, £22k is top dealer forecourt money for a back street housing estate car.
-
Lend it out possibly?
-
I did a similar thing to remove a flywheel bolt on a transverse engine but instead of using the engine rotation, which packs a lot of torque, I dropped the car on the jack and used gravity instead which I felt was more controllable and could be released by raising again quickly if things didn't sound quite right. It'd be interesting to know if the weight of the car bearing down on a long bar generates more or less force than the starter.
-
There are control arms no longer available from Mr Toyota on the Supra where the factory arms have non-serviceable ball joints. Has anyone ever looked into removing an arm b/j and machining the arm to fit a generic serviceable b/j? If its not been done yet, someone will need to have a go at it sometime or everyone had better hope aftermarket pattern parts start to become available. The only alternative available today would be to fit fully adjustable track and race arms instead. If no one has done it I was thinking of having my local metal bashers see if its possible, anyone interested in crowd funding the project?

One of my personal favourite Supra colours. Priced at £22k which for me is a little out of my comfort range and there is something about the Cannock Supras that doesn't sit well, there have been a few recently (fresh imports) that list under different seller accounts. Could be just a dealer running several accounts to stay under the HMRC radar?
