  1. No one can other than to add to existing threads. It seems when there was a mini site tidy up about a year ago the Projects section lost its new thread capability.

  3. As Supras are old cars now there are plenty of them out there that could do with a bit of back to metal TLC, though from their exterior you'd probably never think that. That's both the good thing and also the not so good thing about the car, it still looks good after 20 years and hides nasty things like rust very well. If you are good enough and brave enough to tackle anything then there will always be the car that needs a lot of TLC coming up at relatively cheap prices. One of the main issues with tackling a project Supra these days is availability of new old stock parts as more and more are discontinued in the OE supply chain by the day and Toyota has been ramping up prices of whats left. So new parts, if they are available, have become very expensive to where they were a little over 5 years ago (tripled on some parts) and this price inflation has fed through to recycled parts to. These cars are now not just expensive to buy compared to just a few years ago but also quite expensive to refurbish especially if your set on OEM. There are a refurbishment and rebuild threads from members in the Supra Chat and Projects sections here so if you give those a trawl you should be able to pick up on what to look out for with a Supra. Good luck with your search.
  4. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?351418-Front-UK-Supra-4-Pot-Brakes-Fully-refurbed-and-painted-with-decals Then you could sell on when you are finished with them.
  5. I think, and I have to caveat that it is speculation, the initial wind up petition would have come from HMRC due to non payment of VAT. Thats a common cause of these events. Then HP probably appealed for time to pay and have then failed to meet their commitments again. Pure speculation but its a typical way these things unfold. I would strongly recommend you don't take your car anywhere near them. As Scooter says these things can go from bad to worse when garages have closed and cars there only for a service have been seized as assets and possession is always 9/10ths that'd leave individuals then fighting to get their car back.
  6. The writing has been on the wall in big bold print for a while.
  7. I'm intrigued, the OP posts up 6 weeks after his first post to says he is a happy chappy and its sold and you say he sold it on the first day. How would you happen to know that it was sold on the first day? Also, what evidence do you possess to suggest its a piss poor valuation. I'd say only Keron could possibly comment on that because he pitched up; saw how much work it needed, paid over his cash and then trailered off the car. Happy seller, happy buyer makes for everyone happy I think.
  8. These only fetch about £50 on forum or Facebook. You'd be best listing on eBay where they don't actually come up that often but are listed regularly for £150 to £250 and they do disappear off listing so that would indicate they could well have got themselves sold if the seller didn't decide to just keep it.
  9. Oh do give over. The guy had a little offer from an auction bod which I'd venture was probably about 8 grand. It was in aesthetically pretty poor shape and the price suggested was way too high as he sold it for well under anyway. He was happy, maybe others aren't because they maybe missed out on a bargain. I'd rather see Keron buy a car cheap and tidy it up for a happy new buyer than have it stripped. If he makes money out of it, great that's what business is about. Anyone here could have taken the bus to London with a pocket full of change if they wanted it and paid over whatever they would have taken to get the deal.
  10. It doesn't look like a paint match wings to bonnet so I doubt it has had a full respray, just the dents and scrapes taken care of on the bumpers and side panels. Red is one of the hardest colours to match, it would leave me wondering what it looks like under sodium lights at night. Still if its got all the history and MOTs and is as good as claimed underneath then its a very fair price. After all, not many Supras come with an air box, OEM steering wheel, all MOTs and a comprehensive service history?
  11. There has been quite a bit of work done on the bodywork including a replacement mirror. Not sure if it qualifies as a 'club members car' though.
  12. Can you confirm if the £200 is just for the air box and filter or does that include all OE ducting and intakes? I'll take it if the latter.
  13. It could be many things from frazzled circuits or capacitors or failed speed converter or a bad connection. Probably not your speed sensor if other electronic glitches came and went. Plenty of background reading for you but they all mean removing the instrument cluster for a look see. http://www.supraforums.com.au/forum/topic/42249-speedo-not-working/ http://www.supraforums.com.au/forum/topic/78015-supra-odometer-not-working/ http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?257337-speedo-not-working http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?318943-speedo-cluster-not-working-help-needed
  14. I use ToWeb as my website design software, it is really the best I've ever tried for ease of use and breadth of features (and I have used some much more expensive software in the past). It's an incredibly cost effective package (PRO pack Euro24.50 with discount) already but they have emailed me a 50% discount coupon which is no use to me as I'm already using the latest version. So if someone is looking for an upgrade or could use a really good web design package PM and I'll send you the single use code. Coupon valid to 26/11. ToWeb site
  15. Time to work on the rest of the underneath of the car. I'll be putting the car up on my ramp in March and replacing a lot of bolts for new and then it'll be off to a garage to fit all the new front suspension arms. I've decided not to do this myself this time as I have other projects on the go. Today I mated up all the new suspension parts with nuts and washers which comprise: Upper and lower control arms Drop links Track ends Lower arm brackets Cam bolts Anti-roll bar, bushes and bush brackets In addition to the suspension parts the O2 sensor is being replaced and a replacement 1st and 2nd cat with a fully intact heat shield will be fitted as the current system 2nd cat shield has been speed hump damaged over the years. The front already has new wheel bearings, new discs, brake pads and dust shields recently fitted so when these components are fitted the underside renewal/refurb will be completed with just an annual on ramp inspection following after that. The final cost will likely run to £9k total for the underside work.
  16. I'll take these. PM payment details pls
  17. Coils have a specified resistance so the easy test to run is to check the resistance of the coils is within spec and then any problem coil should be easily identified.

    Trackers

Depends if you prefer a subscription or a DIY PAYG Sim version. Amazon reviews are a good place to start if you are intending to go for the DIY option with a £20 - £70 budget. There are a lot of good feature no subscription DIY units retailing for not a lot of money and it probably comes down to what you are looking to cover. I live in a no/low crime area so I cannot see the point in hard wiring a tracker into each of my cars preferring instead to have one portable magnetic one that I can place with any car that I might be leaving unattended in a pub, restaurant or supermarket car park while the rest are sitting at home.
  19. It'll be interesting to read a follow up on your claims experience having only recently set up you insurance with Zenith especially if its a knock for knock or your fault claim. They probably poll lowest of insurers on trust pilot so good luck.
  20. You can still get the lids, or at least you could recently, for not a lot of money. Without all the ducting and intakes its probably not worth a great deal. I'd guess at around £60 with the filter whereas around £200 - £250 for a complete setup.
  21. For anyone not familiar with the other Supra forums, this is probably the best single page reference resource in the World.
  22. There are plenty of good shots in this thread that can be pulled if 12 don't come forward in time. That'd make for a classy October pic.
