  1. Nice one. Saves me from wrestling with my dark side.
  2. So its a double your money sale. Fair play if they get it. Mind you they had better had fixed the a/c for that price. New condensers are, I've been told - a discontinued item and very expensive to fit even a recovered or refurbished one.
  3. It is especially as its hard to get an original air box these days. Engine bay looks like its been a little neglected generally and who sticks a HKS sticker for the sake of it?
  4. Just come up on PH. Anyone know anything about it as its claimed to be a 19 year import but with only two UK owners. It has MOT history mileage discrepancy covering 3 years so may not be everything it is claimed to be so does anyone know the car at all? But it does have to be said the level of organisation you and Jackie put in makes it a pleasure and smoothly run show to attend. And lets not underestimate the sticky buns you provided at the end of the show!
  6. Thanks Greg, The Q was to check it was an original manual and not an auto conversion as that does affect the potential historical value, considerably. I'm going to muse a little about my ideal for a second Supra choice as my preference, as you are aware, is very much for stock so a single would be a total diversion for me. But I do have a stock example already and buying a spare 2JZ-GTE engine would be a sensible investment as well as either a spare unit or to have an option to return a modified car to stock when the values veer that way to make a retro conversion a sound economic choice.
  7. Argh you have me wondering now. was it originally a UK TT6?
  8. Did you ever share that with your wife? its a big service bill even before the labour is thrown in. As a side interest how does insurance fare on this relative to say a run of the mill TT?
  9. Have you ever tried a dialogue with PayPal and been successful?
  10. Why would anyone HID the fogs?
  11. Assuming you paid by Credit Card then there is full recourse against the credit company for a refund as a HOL ruling did ratify that UK credit protection does extend to overseas purchases. If you paid by PayPal - that's a big mistake as they don't exactly have a fantastic reputation and there are plenty of threads on them detailing how shitty they can be.

Great set of pics there Jackie. The cars all went down really well with the crowd; a good colour and spec mix. We were only missing a stock UK car but Mark (blythmrk) who I chatted to yesterday is localish and keen on adding one of his cars to the line up next year (I have PM'd Ian about that). For anyone like me who has never showed before its a great venue to show off your car. Had lots of people asking if I'd sell mine to them so for anyone considering selling theirs its an open market with hundreds of potential buyers turning up and there were on top of that 4 people I talked with sold on or already seeking out a Supra for the first time. I thought my late entrant would be the patina car with it original paint and lack of bling but I was amazed and really quite made up how well it was received by the punters and Toyota GB group that visited the stand. Although I'm a shy kind of guy who doesn't come out to this kind of event often I would definitely be interest in helping out again next year if there are slots available.
  14. Hi Greg, you did seem a restless Supra owner at the show. Jake is up for a big single seeing he got a strong offer for his at the NEC so may be worth having a chat with him.

We did spread out as we set up and found extra bits of carpet to lay down. There was a good, safe gap between the cars so people weren't having to push against the cars when passing between the cars.
  16. The Toyota GB guys did say the MkV will be welcomed by the MkIV crowd and that we will be pleasantly surprised by the concept and power. They seemed upbeat on it but maybe when you are top lining at a 2l GT86 you can get easily excited?
  17. I was looking at an e-type roadster for moi. Is he doing the conversion himself or having a company do it for him, if a company who would that be. The parts cost of a conversion is nothing really and I've been told by a jag expert its not a long or hard job to do so i'd assume it must be fairly reasonable cost wise. You can still get roadsters in the USA for $60,000 that are when neat and tidy £110k here.
  18. No, they were being so complimentary about my car I couldn't bring myself to do that. Guess I got suckered into being nice.
  19. The Whifbitz SMIC is good, I have one fitted myself. Think I'd rather give the £70 to the tax man and get a new one than get a used one ex-VAT.
  20. Toyota GB group stopped by the Supra NEC stand at last weekends classic car show and did mention the new MkV. I asked if it would have a BMW derived engine and they said it wouldn't, that it'd be a Toyota drivetrain. They were cagey on aspects so it could be something whacky like a hybrid coming out. Said the launch date would be Spring to Summer 2018. They also said they really regret selling (for charity) their UK museum Castrol liveried Supra two years ago and that anyone with a stock or near stock Supra MkiV TT6 (especially in white) should be locking it up, wrapping it in bubble wrap and only bringing it out once a year for its MOT test. They clearly don't know Supra owners very well.

Others took way more pics than I did and hopefully they can add in some but to get the ball rolling here are the few taken before the show opened.
  22. Its not a strange thing to see in the classic car World. You only need to look at the numbers of old Jaguars, Austin and MGs now coming home from the USA. about half of the e-types for sale these days as Yank left hookers returned to the UK.
  23. Seriously, you did receive a seriously strong offer on the stand yesterday but its only recovering what the car owes you in parts and that is with giving lots of free man hours on the time you and your father put into it. If I had so much of my dad's input into my car I would never let it go. He did say he wasn't going to do another one for you so recovering the cost of the parts you have fitted isn't worth it to lose that I did this with my dad that you'll really cherish in 20 years time if you hold onto it.
  24. Hi Mark.... Little chat - wasn't it about an hour and a half? I thought your wife was very tolerant. Yes, I'll take your red one off you. Just PM over the price please.
  25. Anything around here gets its share of cow shit but that comes with the territory of living with nothing but 30 mile views. She did get swayed by me talking up Supras all weekend at the NEC such that I even convinced her they must be a good car. Surprised you are considering going single but then you know that's just me and I really don't like venturing too far from stock. Looks like we all came back from the NEC with a renewed Supra bug, I'm expecting to see wanted ads from everyone else who was there later today. Did you get back OK - I had a clear run home (in the rain!) so was back in the garage by 19:30 followed by 20 minutes drying the car off?
