  1. If I wasn't after a V160/161 manual I'd be seriously looking into this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Supra-3-0-Twin-turbo-facelift/272466915895?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D38661%26meid%3D1b0b6e5752f94698958f46afbdb0bba8%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D222329797657
  2. Keron has just eBay listed a black stockish auto to TT6 for £12k something.
  3. Maybe a finance repo seeing it was sold only 4 months ago. Can't see why else this wouldn't trade privately and cannot see any trader imagining that they would profit at auction.
  4. I think you'll find the usual Supra parts prices have recently become far from usual. These are now being eBay listed for minimum £100 each.
  5. If you do decide to sell now is a good time and probably a good deal better than leaving it till the post Christmas blues. There are lots of people posting in the classifieds for wanted TT6's, including myself. Pity you're car is kitted and podded up otherwise I'd be hounding you to sell. Pricing will of course depend on mileage, condition and if its an all original matching numbers car. Prices now start at £15k for stock TT'6 and I have seen a couple of ads for lower mileage facelift TT6's near that via dealers but a good example could easily get well North of that on the right day of the week. For some the mods will add to the cars value, for others they will detract so that's always something that's hard to price effectively.
  6. When I did my agreed value submission to LV classics all I sent was a list of 4 advert links showing similar prices. I insured in May for £18k no issues at all and prices are still climbing so I recon I'll be pitching at £22k to £24k next May on my stock TT6. If you paid £17k and the cars are appreciating I'd personally look to add at least £4k on that for the agreed value as it'll run 12 months anyway. Always found FJ to be a waste of time myself, they never respond at all to email quote requests that I send.
  7. TT6's don't tend to hang around so it has to be its bare essentials look putting people off. If the carpets and seats were retained when it was stripped out, putting those back in would give the car a massive appearance lift.
  8. You would have to be a big fan of roll cages and it does seem expensive for an older car coupled to an older turbo with not much originality (looks to be a run of every mill original silver paint) left TT6. No one is still selling that particular setup and I don't think anyone would see that as a good option compared to the current crop of no/low lag single turbo options. Should be just the thing Jake is looking for!
  9. US$225 ex USA. Can't give a freight and duty breakdown as I ordered a lot of rubber strips and seals at the same time figuring it'll be hard if not impossible to get these perishables in a decade or so time.
  10. Its normal for oil to seep past the valve seals on 20 year old Supras and give a white puff on start up. You can buy all the seals and gaskets using the following parts list. 90913-02088 Valve Seals X12 90913-02123 SEAL VALVE STEM OIL X12 90311-40020 Camshaft Seal X2 90105-06166 BOLT WASHER BASED H X12 90080-17190 Instrument Panel Nut X4 90210-07001 WASHER SEAL X16 11213-46020 Valve Cover Gasket X1 11214-46011 Valve Cover Gasket X1 All parts are still OE available - I bought a set last month ready to do my own car sometime when it needs doing while they remain OE available. Its a job that is a when rather than if.
  11. The most amazing thing about this car is it has an OE air box. That's got to be worth £1k on the price seeing you cannot get them anymore.
  12. We experienced a problem with one of our cars recently (as in a month ago) that kept running rough or even cutting out completely and the garage we went to said they suspect a problem with water in supermarket fuels at the moment as they have seen a spate of people reporting the same problem. You might just need a full tank of non supermarket fuel and maybe throw in a cleaning additive for good measure. After 3 tank fills the car is now running fine again.
  13. I don't think you'd regret it. So easy to work on and so much fun. I wouldn't like to pick my favourite between the MGB and Supra because that's kind of hard, different cars for different drives.
  14. I've never bothered covering any parts other than exposed air filters on some cars or carburettor intakes when doing an engine wash down. I've just warmed the engine (not hot but hand warm) then sprayed away. Always done on a warm day and left bonnet up to dry which usually only takes no more than an hour or so with a good breeze. For serious grime around the sump or leaking oil gaskets I spray on some diesel an hour or so before spray washing and that tends to soften up most oil or grease derived deposits. Never had any issues with starting after doing things this way. Its not something I'd ever contemplate doing in the middle of Winter.
  15. I figured it could be useful for others to update this thread with the jspec engine ecu part numbers for reference: Supra ECU Part Numbers (Auto, J-Spec, NA): - 89661-14600 (93-97) - 89661-14810 (97-99) Supra ECU Part Numbers (Auto, J-Spec, TT): - 89661-14490 (9305-9310) - 89661-14491 (9310-9605) Supra ECU Part Numbers (5Spd, J-Spec, NA): - 89661-14610 (only number listed) Supra ECU Part Numbers (6Spd, J-Spec, TT): - 89661-14500 (9305-9310) - 89661-14501 (9310-9605) - 89661-14770 (9605-9709) - 89661-14830 (9709-)
  16. This box set on eBay must be somewhere close to you and its reasonably priced. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stack-on-tool-box-with-halfords-top-box-/332030356628?hash=item4d4e8d2c94:g:gM0AAOSw8gVX3E1z
  17. First time, I believe, its come up as an auction sale.
  18. I bought one of these 2 years ago in a Halfords sale for £99. 36% inflation over two years sounds a lot to me. Its a good kit apart from the torx set that does rust badly. Also its a pain to put all the parts back in if they all fall out bar the spanners which did happen to me once when it fell off a shelf.
  19. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1994-UK-TOYOTA-SUPRA-TWIN-TURBO-440BHP-4K-ICE-APEXI-GAUGES-DVD-MAY-SWAP-PX-/262729903051?hash=item3d2bec2bcb:g:aY4AAOSwcUBYKGzM Just relisted after failing to sell on a sub £10k classified with best offer. Its not difficult to see what will be putting people off but if its OK underneath it could be a real bargain with £1k put aside for a wheel refurb and to spray over the pink bits. If it were a manual I'd get past the pink.
