  1. One day, there will be a £30k TT Auto. This one you get £5 change. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201703303845605?make=TOYOTA&model=SUPRA&logcode=p
  2. A month to drive 2,500 miles, that leaves a lot of detour sight seeing time which you'll need en-route. I only did the route 66 starting in California and heading East to Arizona and that was 25 years ago and enjoyed it immensely. The road was in a bad state then, with a load of deep holes and there were so many shut motels and gas stations as the Interstate ran alongside with all the traffic, often directly alongside. The few motels that remained open looked like nothing had changed since the 1950's with the décor. Left you feeling you had checked into Bates motel and got there probably 30 years to late which may be 50 years by now. Make sure the spare tyre (or tire) is in good shape.

    Supra fire

If the insurer is declaring the car a total loss B and the car is in your possession you should be able to strip parts off it before it is crushed. The car is all yours until you accept terms from the insurer and hand over the car. The prudent thing to do is advise the insurers you wish to do this and see what they say, it might just be go ahead and send in the scrappage certificate when done or they may demand you make an offer of money for the parts you intend removing particularly as this could reduce the scrappage weight/value. Insurers tend to work well with people who work with them. People are crying out for boot liners, tailgates, rear bumpers and light so those alone would land over £1k with not a lot of strip down work.
  4. Might be helpful if you mention front or rear?

    Daily Supras

So did Amayama then I got an email a few days later advising "part numbers 4165314010 and 9010512218 have been delayed indefinitely. As these parts are no longer available, we will refund you the cost of these parts". Chomp Steve's hand off.

    Daily Supras

You'll be lucky if you haven't bought them already. You cannot get a fair few bushes any longer from the usual sources and 4165314010 is one that's gone, though it is still listed on ebay.com from one supplier so if you hurry!

    Daily Supras

My days of daily driving the Supra ended about 15 years ago when my company bought me a company car, figuring turning up to prospective customers - the Supra probably wasn't the ideal choice. You see from the feeding frenzy that accompanies strip threads that more owners are probably getting to panic stations about securing critical parts, particularly the bits underneath. I'm as bad as anyone in that regard, scooped up a few of the last remaining OE bushes on the rear frame and also a complete front and rear frame (both with hubs and ABS sensors which was a bit of a bonus seeing the ABS sensors all bar one are now discontinued and unavailable). With Supra prices heading who knows where you have to be a single car owner to want to rag your Supra 365 days a year. I have driven the Supra only once since the November show we went to and it did feel special for the wait, so I'm with you concerning abstinence makes the final result all the more pleasurable.
  8. A few mm on the diameter of a small pipe makes a massive difference to the volume.
  9. No one has mentioned this but why not check the coil packs. I did read somewhere once that the resistance inside a coil pack raises 0.4% per degree Celsius so if you have a failing coil pack then the impedance could cause weak spark idling issues when hot, that wouldn't be apparent when cold. You may be effectively running on 5 cylinders at hot idle. Should be easy to check out.
  10. Both too high. Seems Auto TT prices are ranging from £7k these days right up to the UK one presently on eBay for £24,995, but the latter is the exceptional exception. There have been a fair few for sale recently and the ones that look good up to £9k have been selling quickly even with a fair few coming on the market recently. Demand has probably been helped by so few TT6's coming up recently.
  11. Maybe its just a typo, just like the gay import bit?

    Hello

You location says mid wales but you say South Wales. If you are mid to Southish then you are welcome to drive over to mine to put it up on my ramp to have a good nose underneath and have a talk about some things Supra.
  13. Three sets currently listed on eBay, 2 pre-facelift.
  14. This car has been listed for a couple of weeks on eBay as a fresh import with a pending pictures note, pictures posted today. Seller account is a strange one; namuro-jap-imports active since 2007 but only one registered sale item in 9 years. The wheels look to wide for the arches which would normally be a MOT issue. The listing doesn't look right to me but someone may want to go have a look. I did message the seller when first listed but that was never responded to and ad says to call but hasn't got a contact number. Adding to that dodgy feeling. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-SUPRA-RZ-VVTi-TWIN-TURBO-6-SPEED-MANUAL-GETRAG-V161-GEARBOX-FRESH-IMPORT-/172484596513?hash=item2828e21321:g:GV4AAOSw2gxY1jpJ

    Underseal

After seeing what goes on underneath underseal I wouldn't ever get another car undersealed. Its nasty what can go on unseen behind underseal. If its clean underneath why not just hire a ramp once a year and make sure it stays clean by power washing and tackling surface rust as and where it starts. I bought a ramp for myself 2 years ago and the first time I had my cars up there it was several days with each tacking the brown stuff. Just put my 52 year old Mustang on it today and there is nothing to do. Keeping on top of a clean car is easy.
  16. Insurers are generally OK to raise the agreed value limits within reason as they don't do that for free, it does attract a higher premium the higher the agreed value you insure. Having said that I have always used adverts to justify the valuation otherwise you'd usually need to have the car independently valued. So the insured value does need to reflect the market as no insurer will just say yes to give you more money than its worth should the worst happen. Anyone should insure any car for what it would cost to replace and with a rapidly appreciating car its sensible to factor in a certain amount for the following years rise in value. Supra inflation is running around 25% so I'd take a dealer price and add 10% to 15% on renewal. So Marks car would be a stretch sale at £32k but he'd find it hard to replace it with £32k and by this time next year he will probably need to look at insuring it for around £40k at renewal.
  17. It'd be worth getting a km verification and you can buy a report if one isn't being provided by JM seeing 80k km is low. My Supra came over in 1998 as 2 years old with 27,700k km so its of no little wonder that there are so many 30k to 100k km 20+ year Supras for sale in Japan. Sometimes, it seems like my car was the only one that ever had itself driven in Japan. I'd expect JM would have been pushing this out around £14k as they don't take the piss with high mark ups. It's one of the most desirable Supra colours and in my opinion the best that should give you years of trouble free motoring and it'll appreciate nicely to. I'm sure you'll enjoy it immensely.
  18. Seeing you like blue and its not too far from you! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-BMW-5-SERIES-2-5-525D-M-SPORT-4DR-/222404156869?hash=item33c8521dc5:g:V~wAAOSwtfhYnI70
  19. Opie are running a 5l + 1l free offer which is a great combination for a Supra. Use code M3C and you'll get 10% off the order as well, till then end of March. I'd go for the 5W-40 myself unless you are doing a lot of track play.

    Wills

At your time of life, probably a power of attorney would be something to seriously consider. I've just been quoted £250 for a new from scratch will (the kids are now all adults) and £750 to assign a power of attorney.
  21. See you didn't get those shock towers treated and painted yet!
  22. Doesn't happen often but a 'reasonable' priced set of rear LED lights are up on eBay for anyone looking for rear LED lights. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Supra-LED-tail-rear-lights-taillights-2jz-gte-ge-gearbox-engine-turbo-/292061221780?hash=item4400349394:g:zzsAAOSwTM5YxHri
  23. £24,995 for a 100k miles TT Auto from a seller in High Wycombe. What possibly could be wrong. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Supra-UK-SPEC-RZ-TWIN-TURBO-FULL-TRIAL-KIT-FULL-TOYOTA-HISTORY-MINT-CAR-/262904173952?hash=item3d364f5580:g:vLcAAOSw4YdY0RS8
  24. Lots of editing on the Ed video, wonder what he was saying that didn't make the cut? It had got a bit too States side dominated, well really a lot to States side. But watched their 67 Mustang Fastback rebuild and ended up importing a 65 Mustang Fastback so it probably raised the knowledge and appeal of American metal over here. Pity it wasn't just franchised to rather than taken over by the Yanks.
  25. That series was so slow. It was like watching the inception, gestation and then oh yes, its born.
