    Hi from Ireland

Hey Jim, no I ended up going for a facelift import single turbo it was pretty tough to get a decent UK BPU spec at the right money. I bought it off Adam, I'll get some pics of it up later today when I'm home from work

    Octane boosters

Its mapped on 99 with a HKS v pro gold I will have to try it with some 97 as I cant source anything else but I think I may have to remap to run better with 97 to be safe

    Octane boosters

The highest we seem to get in NI is 97 as far as I can find. Would the safest option be to get it remapped to 97?
  8. Do many people use them - Which is the best to use for the Supra jap engines? If the car is mapped to run on 99 ron is it safe to use 97 ron and add an octane boost? Thanks

    Insurance Options

From what I can see I have two options: 1. Take out a new policy, starting with 0 NCB. Most companies wont quote or else will quote very expensively 2. Insure the supra in place of my Accord on that policy. This means either putting the Accord off the road or starting a new policy for it, which again will be expensive Is there a 3rd cheaper option which I am missing?
  10. Hi, I am 27 with 4 years no claims on my CBR1000RR policy and 4 years no claims on my Honda Accord 2.2 policy. I would like to buy a TT or single Supra but can't seem to find a cheap way of insuring it. Can these cars not be insured as a classic policy with limited mileage as I will only be using it for a number of weeks during the summer and the odd weekend during winter? Does anyone know what my best way of insuring the sup would be? Cheers, Paddy
  11. Thanks for all your help! It caught my eye as it is the colour I was looking for and is UK spec but I think I will pass on this one due to the turbo and management issues raised.. I was looking for a UK Spec for insurance reasons mostly. My budget is up to around £8000 as I need to run a second car and cant afford to be spending too much on it.
  12. I have not settled on a price with him yet- How much do you reckon it would be worth? I dont mind getting the paint work done as I know a bodywork expert who will do it for a reasonable price.. My main worry is any mechanical work and petrol!!
  13. Ive asked him about this and if I can recall I think it has a full history up to around 70k or more but after that he has done all the work himself and therefore it is not recorded in the service records.. He has listed the work carried out in description. Yes I would imagine the whole side of the car would need resprayed to repair the scratches.
  14. Yes Ive never owned one and am worried about buying one that will give me alot of trouble plus burning a big hole in my pocket!! Ive been taken for a drive in a NA supra and a 400bhp Silvia before. The car is Renfrewshire near Glasgow. It is a JZA80 UK SPEC Link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=170343125123 Id like to hear any opinions and your views on the car.
  15. Hi, I was thinking about going to see a supra in Scotland (Im from Ireland) But would like a bit of advice from some supra owners before I make the purchase as I have never driven one before. It is a Uk spec and has been converted to single turbo with aprox 113k miles. If you have any advice for me let me know and I can pm you more details about the car's spec etc Thanks
  16. Hi Everyone, Just wandering will there be a supra meet cuming up any time soon in Ireland? Ive never been to one yet and think with the good weather etc its a good time to get one arranged!!
