Obsession

I know from experience you cannot put pre-facelift inserts into UK housings, nor UK glass lenses onto pre-facelift housings. I think the only difference between pre-facelift and facelift inserts is the colour and chrome rings? So if they're the same shape they wont fit in UK housings either.

The warning light on my car used to come on. Turns out it was because the car was trying to put down the active front spoiler but couldn't because I have an aftermarket bumper. I disabled it and its fine now.

I used to have a Lanos too as a run around! It was maroon, and I broke the petrol flap off lifting up the petrol hose. Uncanny.

Sorry...but it's an NA. However it's had some cash thrown at it. If your still interested: Imported 2006, one UK owner. L reg (94?/95?) 122k km (not converted). 5-speed manual NA-SZ de-limited. HID headlights. Pre-facelift interior/dash and headlights but facelift rear lights and rear-quarter side indicators. Heated leather front seats and elecrtic driver's seat. The dash and gearshift surround is done in carbon fibre (maybe just wrap) including the roof lining. It has an Engine Start button (possibly in where the cig lighter was but can't remember). Standard non-folding windows. Alarm and immobilser. Water Temp., Oil Temp. and Oil Pressure gauges in a carbon fibre box fitted in place of the upper glove box. They hadn't cleaned the interior yet so wasn't looking as good as it could and there's few marks like you'd expect for a car this age, but then again carbon fibre dash with leather seats means it should clean up pretty good. It's got TIEN coilovers with electric adjustable dampers (from the cockpit). Front and rear strutbrace. Front parking sensor and a reversing camera (cunningly poking through a small hole at the top of the 'A' in the rear number plate) plugged into the Kenwood double-DIN stereo/tv and looks like an ipod dock in the centre arm rest. The Kenwood also has sat nav built-in with the aerial being a black shark fin on the roof. It has a Pro-Racing ZZ exhaust. Rota-Wheels with a couple of small chips on the front and rear near side rims. The VIN tag says it was once silver (199). Looks like a reasonably recent re-spray. There's a small crack on the front bumper but other than that the body work's pretty good. The VIN also says W58 (factory fitted 5-speed) and A01B (I think this means a Torsen LSD...if so then ). One of the vents on the Top Secret Carbon Fibre bonnet just fouls on the fan cover which is pushing the drivers side of the bonet up a little at the edge and the gap between the bonnet and the wing on the passenger's side isn't entirely even all the way up but still it looks good. They had to take away the metal mesh from the vent to reduce the interference on the fan cover a little bit. Pics: Proof of NA.... I was in the pub in December last year and picked up this magazine sat in the rack. I took some snap shots of this article on the MKV on my iPhone with the intention of starting a thread on here. It's worth mentioning a lot of insurance policies attempt to automatically renew a policy after the first year. I insured my old car through Admiral for a year. When it ran out I sold the car and moved house around the same time and thought nothing more of it. A year later I got a debt collector after me saying I owed them £95 becuase there's a box you need to tick when signing the insurance policy to say you DON'T want them to automatically renew it (I never noticed this box). Apparently Admiral had sent a renewal quote followed by the new insurance documents to my old house (which I never received) but then failed to direct debit the premium from my bank and so eventually passed the 'adminstration costs' incurred to a debt collector.

Try A-Plan. They've given me the best price for the past 2 years and I shopped round loads (around £640 per year for a '96 J-Spec TT). Sky were almost double. Tell them it's an import before you go through all the figures first so they can send you to the right dept.

Well I was 98% sure it was her anyway, we live in a quiet cul-de-sac in a nice area and the car is happily tucked away behind a hedge, but she has since admitted remembering doing it! This is what the bitch did, granted it's only very minor but still, what was the point?! I hope it's all sorted now anyway, got a mobile car body repair guy coming round on Wednesday so I don't have to drive it anywhere. £40 to pop it out he recons but it might not be perfect, if not she can pay the extra later.

Wow! Thanks for the all the replies and advice! I have to say, when she's sober she's great, but when she's drunk she's a knightmare but she's never turned to vandalism or anything like this before and she doesn't even remember it happening. She does have an alcy problem though (clearly) and drinks to the point of passing out on the sofa way too often (at least once a week), but she is a complete lightweight and done in after a couple of glasses. We (well strictly speaking she) have (has) 3 dogs who I love completely and I was with her to collect them all from puppies over the course of the past 1.1/2 years, nothing quite like kids but it is like a little unit and we all go walking in the forrest and on the beach all the time and that has become a big part of my life at the moment, but she does need to address the alcohol problem for us to have future. She knows how much I love that car too (bit*h!). I was gutted to see it this morning. To be fair though, I had a look at the damage when I got back from work today and it's more of just a crease around where the indicator cut-out is on the wing. If that hole wasn't there I doubt she'd have managed to even dent it (she probably would have fallen over first!). It should pop back out quite easliy, I could probably do it myself if I had half a clue about these things, but this does lead me to think about the issue a bit more seriously i.e. re our future etc. I'd rather try and help her the best I can than walk out right now, but it's not easy. A slap in the face might help now and then (just kidding - sort of).

Well what can I say... my girlfriend (bless her) has a bit of an alcy problem. She runs her own business, which is doing very well at the moment, but needless to say gives her a bit too much free time in the days now and then. Yesterday it would seem she spent most of her time in the pub. I cycled to meet her after work to drive her car home. I put my bike in her car (which I might add had been politely furnished with a parking ticket by this point) and dropped her and the dog off back at the house. We exchange the obligatory "love you"s and then I go off on my merry way to go play 5-a-side footie for an hour with some of the guys from work. She lent me her Golf as my Supra is currently SORN'd for the winter and I wasn't particularly keen on cycling all the way there. Everything was reasonably normal at this point. We kicked ass at footie, 19-11 or something like that. I then get back to her car and check my phone... only to be greeted with 18 missed calls, 7 answerphone messages and 5 texts! She's basically accused me of steeling her car and told me she's called the police etc. etc. I called her back, trying not to laugh at all this but failing miserably, pointed out that actually she lent me the car, I dropped her off only an hour and a half before and everyting was fine etc. I ask wtf doesn't she remember any of this and has she been taking some recreational pharmaceuticals... to which she replies something along the lines of "ohhh my god, I complitely remeember now.. I'm soooo sorry, I must have gotten sooo drink" blah blah blah (slurring somewhat). Apparently she fell asleep for a few minutes on the sofa and woke up thinking it was 11 o'clock or something (when it was actually about 6pm) and thought I'd just gone out and left her. I just saw the funny side at all this and went home. I get there, we have a minor argument about some bullwhack before she promptly passes out again shortly after. I just got on with my evening playing a spot of COD MW3 on the PS3, thinking nothing much more of it. Anyway, this morning I get on my bike at 7:30am to ride to work, only to get out on the drive to see the front indicator hanging off the Supe and a foot sized dent in the wing!! I laz my bike on the ground and burst back in the front door, she has no recollection of this alleged misdemeanor at all and is all very apologetic, but my poor Supe! It did nothing to deserve this. The damage to the wing is only minor and should pop back out and there's no damage or cracking of the paintwork so that's good, but still, what a b!t&h!. She has offered to pay for the damage (and get the roof resprayed at the same time to say sorry as it's looking a little worse for ware at the moment being 15 years old)... so I wont whinge too much, but as said the car is SORN'd and not insured at the moment (all preped to be tucked up for the winter). I would like to take it to a body shop to get it repaired asap just in case the paint has suffered a bit, but none of these short-term insurance companies seem to want to cover a powerful import such as the RZ for a month. Can anyone suggest any decent short-term insurance companies (and/or places to meet a sane new girlfriend in and around the Bournemouth area)?
