Just need some advice folks... I'm thinking of going bpu (if i don't sell my car that is ) and i've been looking at a couple of exhausts for sale on here. They are mikerunner's Super Flow: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=228408 and ugp's HKS: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=226862 Can anyone recommend any of these? I've not heard much about the Super Flow exhausts, but it does come with decats. The HKS would be a more obvious choice, but i don't think the thread clears up model it is.

Very happy mate. Thanks for that. Just waiting for the policy to come through the pst and i'll probably be bouncing off the walls! Just been thinking what car i can buy to stick my 6 years no claims on. That's right, i'm saving that much i can afford to buy a second car!

I told them it was a sz with an engine converson from an rz. Also told them it's my only car. I do 4,000 miles a year and don't use it for commuting. Thay quoted me £261 fc and all with out using any of my ncb.

I dont have another car at the mo, but I tend to do less than 4,000 miles per year. I was reading through the thread & got a little confused about the ncb. Did you get that low quote using your ncb? Or did you tell them you're using them on another car?

It just says 2jz on the logbook. Always has. But my insurance company know that i've done an engine swap & my insurance renewal only went up about £30. But that could be because of i've gained a sp30 in tie course of the last year. I'm with A-plan by the way. Age 30, 6 years ncb, sp30, all mods declared (bodykit, alloys, ice, engine conversion), car is garaged overnight, £885 fc.

Yeah i was a bit disappointed when i saw their UNIT aswell. Thay had about four cars parked nose to tail. But that said they did seem more honest than most. Also they keep getting new cars ll the time. So they must be doing something right. Guess it could be the name. or you could just buy mine.

They might charge you for storing your car too. The mechanic near me did even though it was his choice to not remove my faulty parts after a few days!

So there is a difference in performance/power between different exhausts, and the Whifbitz exhaust is better than the Nur Spec Rx for performance/power. Finally an answer to my my original question.

I was hoping to find an exhaust which isn't really loud on idle, so i suppose this might be the one for me. The blitz Nur Spec R is a little too loud for my tastes. Do HKS do a quieter one? And apart from the noise levels, is there much difference in performance? Or do louder exhausts ted to be better in the performance department?

Hello all, i've been looking at llots of aftermarket exhausts and am not sure which one i should get. I know some are louder than others, but are there any which are better for power/performance than others? Also i was wondering is it necessary to get an aftermarket exhaust if i wish to go bpu or can i fit decat pipes to my stock exhaust?
