    Mot

Hello all, my car is due for an MOT, but some of the blades on my viscous fan are broken. Is this a major thing and would the car fail because of this? Or is it not that big a deal andcan i replace the fan later once i have the part?
  2. Well i tried ringing around for a good quote, before i rang Sky to see if they could beat it. But i was told that the quote i had got from A-plan was too low for them and they couldn't even match, let alone beat it.

    Sky?!

yeh, i hope so too. I spoke to Lifesure and they said they couldnt insure me because i'm too young and havent had my license long enough! i'm 29 and i'e had my license for 4 1/2 years!

    Sky?!

I have finally ot my n/a supra insured. After trying out the various comparison sites out there (on which the lowest quote i got was for £1,300!), i decided to ring up some insurance companies myself. So, i looked at the ones used by some of the members on here. Elephant kept quoting me for a TT online and when i rang them, i was told the system didnt recognise my car! But the did manage to refer me to some others. The cheapest quote for some time was £1,140 from Adrian Flux. At which point i thought i couldnt get my car insured for less than 1k. Some one even rang me quoting me £2,620! But after all that i've decided to go with A-plan. They insured me for £855. I told the bloke i'm going to check with sky before i make a decision, because quite a number of mambers have recommended them and they have said that they would have the mst competitive quotes. But when they rag me they sad that even £855 was too low for them and they could not insure me for such a low price!!
  6. It also says it doesnt come with an operating system. As far as i know they can be quite expensive. You'd have to add about £166 for Windows Vista Home.
  7. Thanks for that Rob. Ive had a few people telling me they prefer the manual hand controls. I think i'm going to need some practise before though, because i kept getting the controls mixed up ( i was pulling when i should have been pulling!). luckily i had an assessor next to me to do any sudden braking! I didnt know anything about the line-locking either. Is it easy to install? I think i might get used to driving my Supe before i start racing yet though, lol
  8. Sorry, that link only takes you to the site for the manufacturer. you'd have to change the languge to english, then find the hand controls! i'll see if i can find a better link. try this one instead for now. The one i'm after is bottom left. http://www.kcmobility.co.uk/pages/satellite.html
  9. Hmm... i guess i could. But with most of the controls you have to keep one hand on the accelerator, while steering with the other. Using a steering ball cn be quite tiring. But with the controls i had in mind you can keep both hands on the steering, and you can put your hands wherever ou want. This link'll show what i mean... http://www.fadiel.com/home.jsf?lang=en
  10. The controls i wanted cost £1,800. Its got an eletronic trigger for the accelerator with a manual brake. Thanks Big Dino Are your controls the same? Or are they the manual push/pull ones? And how much would you want for em?
  11. Hello all! I'm a wheelchair user and want to get hand controls fitted to my N/A Auto Supra. Due to some rare illness the muscles in my legs dont respond like they should. The adaptations i need are quite expensive though, and i was wondering if there was any way of getting funding towards it. I was told that Motability could help me, but apparantly they'll only pay for adaptations if i get a contract hire car from them (which is a minimum of 3 years!), i feel like i'm being forced in to a Motibility agreement and like its the only way i;m going to drive again! Havent had any luck with finding anyone to help me pay for it all, and i dont want to lose my car Ive seen some posts regarding disabled Supra drivers, but couldnt find any about hand controls. Has anyone got adaptations fitted? and are there any grants/funding available?
  12. i've been thinkin about selling mine mate. let me know when you might want it
  13. My dad suggested i give up my car on this new government car scrappage sceme, saying i'd get £2000 for it and can buy a new car... but i convinced him my car was worth a lot more than that! i'm was reading a thread on here (which i couldnt find again!) where everyone was saying that it was a shame people are selling their supras so cheap and that its bringing down the value of such a great car. i wish you luck in finding one cheap though mate!
  14. hi have you still got the fan? mines got 3 broken blades, so i really need it can you please pm me the price & postage etc.
