  1. Major upgrades. I bet that's set you back a very tidy sum indeed, but removes all the big mechanical weak links. You surely nearly got to be finished now Rog haven't you?
  2. Ha I was hoping this would go on all day.
  3. Interesting a Supra has been in the top two at past events. £795
  4. I probably think it's more likely people view you as a trader, chancer etc, as you have only joined recently with little activity. Coupled with the fact your now selling your car coincidentally, and have decided to bump this old thread 'yourself'. Some may view it as gathering interest for your sale perhaps. After all if you wanted to be part of the club and join in with the spirit, you probably would have bumped the thread and communicated 'look at my new car' ages ago. Either way best of luck with sale, probably best to advertise it in the 'cars for sale' section. Nb. Sorry I missed the thread you posted previously: - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?324705-Hello-from-me-and-my-Supra& Shame there was no pictures of the damage, would save you a whole lot of hassle.
  5. Congratulations on getting it all together. As a coincidence I watched this yesterday: - https://youtu.be/S1ofzdd1XAw Shows what is likely to happen if you get the differential specification wrong, granted the chap is beating it to death though
  6. Excellent. Look forward to seeing how gtx 28 version performs.
  7. That looks really nice, looking forward to the updates. I assume this is the baby version of the set up? Great to see you are still pushing the boundaries, developing new ideas solutions.
  8. Congratulations on managing to find one. I sincerely wish you many years of trouble free motoring
  9. Looks like a Boris mincing machine Sounds fantastic
  10. Reading between the lines, and ignoring the awkwardness of the whole situation. I am sure everyone is relieved a solution is now in the wings, even more so for the fellow tiptronic owners Fingers crossed all will be well soon enough
  11. Congratulations on the colour choice. Big step to change the colour of any car, but I am sure it will turn out great. Nice plate as you say will finish it off nicely.
  12. Looks lovely that. Great transformation and certainly worth all the effort.
  13. Glad to hear it's getting there. The Supra looks much better than any of those Jaguars
  14. So it is possible to get the vvti, coupled to a single with auto to work then. Good luck with the sale
  15. My fingers and toes are thoroughly crossed for you. Hopefully won't be too much longer then
  16. Looking great. Do the team have any idea when they will have the fix for the gearbox mapping problem?
  17. Interesting that it made a difference. You would have thought in this day and age something would have been done to make sure everything works correctly. I guess people lost interest when they stopped making the cars any more, still crazy toyota themselves released the car with the known issue.
  18. Oh sorry, assumed that was the finished lay up. Look forward to the finished article.
  19. Ah I see you wanted a numerically accurate list in order, in that case my suggestion won't achieve that Best of luck with it
  20. No joy on the first link Chris, but the second one shows how it's done properly. God knows how much that would cost, but if I were ever building something special from scratch it's got to be worth the investment. Thanks for the share
  21. Engine bay shot is super clean and tidy, looks great. I got some paint mixed up for mine for stone chips etc, it's an rsp and there were 5 shades available. Surprising how much variation there is when you lay the different versions up.
  22. Super work. It's a shame to cover up those lovely cam pulleys, with the attention to detail that has gone into them. Great bit of fabrication though
  23. Great thread for the unaware. Interesting as I am sure everyone wants to protect, what for some is their pride and joys. I treated and protected mine as soon as I got it, same as i have all of my previous ones. It took me a good few weeks to do properly ensuring the car was dry stored first, ensuring most if any moisture was eradicated before starting. I treated any areas that required it, used primer to cover any treated areas, top coated, spray on underseal in difficult to reach places, covered wheel arches, inner wings, all underside, inner and outer sills, rubberised stone chip on lips. I still got the back end to do under the fuel tank. I used. Shutez spray on underseal (spray) Tetra Shutez stone chip (spray) Waxoyl underseal with added waxoyl (brush) I plan to spray thinned waxoyl as a flexible covering layer come summer time, which should finish it off and be easy come top up time. I have no doubt it won't stop anything that's already got in (that you can't see), but will be extremely effective in combating/ preventing future issues hopefully. It's hard work and takes a lot of time, but has given me peace of mind. I don't tend to use my car in wet weather and also dry store it, but if I need to I'm happy in the knowledge I've done some rust prevention. Nb. I would be interested to hear what other people have done, as I just did my best with research personal experience.
  24. I think you could do a month and year list. Owners could easy tell you the month from identifying it on the build number data, and then just use the year as the final category.
  25. I have a 2002 model. I think it would be foolish of anyone to disclose vin plate details, after all its easy to obtain registration numbers to match them up. As long as someone has the same colour car it's very easy to produce a clone. After all a cherished example is always likely to have mot, tax, and insurance, so will never get flagged on any number plate recognition.
