  1. You also need the UK 4 pot brake discs, too. Toyota and probably others do the pad anti rattle clips for the 2 pot calipers, but personally I like pads to move about as it reduces the chance of them seizing up. The slider holes in the caliper rackets may be won, that can cause a knock, check the slider pins have their anti rattle square section o RINGS ON THEM STILL.

Don't forget that wheel's seat belt....

Hi Dunk, good choice, they should look well!

Probably over 90% of aftermarket alloy wheels are naff quality, cast from material with inclusions, heavy and often almost impossible to balance due to run out or other seriously defective machining issues. Paying a premium doesn't even guarantee quality these days with so many different manufacturers in the game.
  5. There's a sine to square wave converter module on the back of the speedo housing which can play up, it can cause this issue (especially if it's bypassed with a speedo or top speed delimiter conversion, but that usually manifests itself straight away. The only test is to look at the input to it and the output from it with a two channel oscilloscope, whilst the car is driven. A logging scope or a helper is needed unless you feel confident driving and reading a scope... I have a home for dead ecu#s here and have stopped driving myself crazy with finding good ones. NO ONE over here has proven to be able to reliably fix AND THEN test them, although there's a place in the US that some customers have used successfully.
  6. Borrow a TRAC ecu from a known good car and see if that fixes it, I see a lot of duff TRAC and engine control ecu's these days, finding a good one is a nightmare. Doing all the tests to show if the car has other issues causing the light to flash takes ages, so best to check if it;s the ecu's first.
  7. Will prices go any higher or should I get rid of it now are the figures that REALLY matter
  8. Loads (pardon the pun) of stuff on conrod failure modes available on line, from simple to highly technical 3D stress analysis: https://www.enginebuildermag.com/2017/03/preventing-connecting-rod-failures/
  9. Make sure your standalone ecu is able to resolve a sine wave signal, which is what the stock sensors output, and not in need of a square wave which a lot of more moderns abs sensors output. It's possible to convert the sine wave to a square wave if needed.
  10. It's RPM that kills rods assuming they are of decent design and material for the job at hand. The major strain on a rod and rod bolts is at the top of its travel as the piston tries to exit the bore.
  11. Still around, still do them, and for the J-Spec set up, as well as for many other makes of car and models. [email protected] will find me
  12. Syvecs ECU's can have diagnostics and sensor outputs et cetera read via the LAN cable that you connect the ecu to your PC with. You can download the Syvecs software for free and have a play with it yourself. Same with MOTEC and probably most of the others.
  13. Thanks, I think he's already been in touch, but anyone can ring me, too. 07971*952084
  14. Sounds like the engine ecu may have succumbed to electrolyte from leaking capacitors damaging the board. I have tried various UK specialists claiming to be able to repair them, but none have. Being na you should find a good used one to try, then see if you can buy one to keep if it works. Have you checked for fault codes?? The above is best guess only, from symptoms. I am still going, very busy right now, but ring me if you like. 07971-952084
  15. Thanks Keron / Big Supes. Seems something iwith this revamped forum s stopping me PM'ing you Big Supes but feel free to e-mail me direct with any "sensitive" info at [email protected] Many thanks all.
  16. Whereabouts did UK dealers fit the Scorpion T5000 alarms standard on UK TT Supras, does anyone know please? I have a car in that all my usual external tricks to reset these alarms has failed on and I cannot start the vehicle. I need to jumper whatever it disables. Thanks.
  17. There is a serious delay in getting new Bilsteins at the moment, I have several sets on order from months ago. I may have good used ones and some good used stock none Bilsteins, ring me on 07971-952084 if possible, or e-mail me please at [email protected] And thanks Annabella
  18. I take payment on order as I have to pay up front, so they all went. They did do a single unit recently for me with not quite as much moaning as usual, leading me to think business is a little quieter at the moment, If you want a price fire me an e-mail please and I'll get a current price from them for one unit [email protected] Thanks.
  19. I'll run the build past Giken on Monday and get a price and availability. Yes, I can fit it, thanks Simon.
  20. My TT kit would be unhappy with that much torque, but a twin plate Giken would be fine, will rattle, will wear fast in street usage (traffic), and needs a Giken movement reversal kit. But all spares available and a top quality kit. There may be a big organic sprung plate kit available somewhere with no issues, but I haven't found one. The Yanks pass that much and more torque through organic clutches.
  21. Yes, most come with 3/8 or 10mm pipe stubs ready to connect the PAS hoses to, just need some more high temp hose and some decent Jubilee clips. Dead simple, elegant and effective. Especially if the current rad is knackered or a cheap Ebay alloy one. Swampy, will e-mail tonight, been mad busy, interested in one of those ecu's for sure, thanks.
  22. I am after a known good stock, Jap spec automatic TT engine ecu. NOT a VVTi one. NOT a manual one. Not an N/A one please. If you have one to sell please let me know by direct e-mail at [email protected] Thanks.
