Hey Tom. I tried to fix these myself. All I needed to do was a little blow over on the gret where some had flaked away. But when the chrome pulled away under the masking tape it all went downhill and had to find someone to fix it. This has taken 3 months since I first sent them in. I explained to him that if he can sort out those times he may have more customers from here. It a common problem that the chrome degrades, leaving a choice between replacing the whole light clusters or having a pop at fixing them yourself. Scutch, I was quoted about £100 to refurbish just the 2 full beam rings. As this job got a bit out of hand with time and extra bits having to be done due to Simons masking tape ripping, I'm ending up getting a full refurb at the same price.

Just got some photos from Simon at Chromespray about 10 minutes ago. Work in progress at last with my facelift inserts. Painter should be in tomorrow to add the 1A1 paint around the rings then hopefully, fingers crossed, I'll have them before the bank holiday weekend!

Do you have the old bolts removed? If so, test fit some nuts to determine the size. M4, M5, M6 etc.. I got mine from Whifbitz and fitted them last weekend. The old bolts were buggers to get out. Had to dremel them out.. Found Screwfix to be pretty good for unusual bolts.

Saw it tonight in 3D. What a film!!! Some humourous bits thrown in there too. Really enjoyed it. Friends all got up and left as soon as the credits started so missed that very last bit.

Nice work Carl! They look really good. I'd be pretty chuffed with that result. Did the vinyl go on as one piece for each ring? How did you get it to go on so flat?

Did you find the problem yet? Had a look at my fuses and noticed the "Diff Cool" fuse was missing. Quick search revealed that only the euro spec Supras came with a diff cooler. Thought it could've been related to the problem.

Spotted today at lunchtime 12:30-13:30 parked up outside the Gym. Private plate IXI ***.

Your 3 extensions at the back, is there no room left for a conservatory for the kids instead of taking the garage?

I've been running an import plate on the back of my Celica for 12 years. 4 of those were in Newcastle when I lived there. If it was such a crime they should have made me change the J-spec plate surround for a UK one to accomodate the snowboard like UK plate. Seems your Mr Policeman is feeling the need to wave some authority around..

Would be good to see how you get on mate. I still have my chrome vinyl mostly unused due to not being able to stretch it in a single piece.

Maybe Guigsy can point out which fuse he referred to? I have an error code pointing at the speed sensor. Hope it is just a fuse.

Touching up the rings might make whatever blemnish you have even more noticable. Mine got into a right mess as I tried to fix a paint issue on the surround. Masking tape will have the chrome finish off I have discovered to my peril. I tried chrome vinyl wrap, it didn't go well as it wouldn't stretch under hair dryer heat and is incredibly fiddly. Idea was to make a circle and then push it down obver the upper and lower edges. I also tried this spray, http://chromepaint.com/liquid-chrome. It looked like it was going to work until the last stage didn't buff like the instructions said it would. Temperature is crucial and I struggled to keep them at 20 degrees ambient temperature in December.. Not yet found an off shelf chrome paint that isn't just sparkly silver.. Not tried varnish nail paint... Hmm. Mine are currently with these guys. http://www.chromespray.co.uk. Was meant to be 10 days turn around but so far has almost been 4 months for one reason after another..

Hi Rob I took some pictures of the blanket. It has a small amount of damage at some of the clip holes, and a tear here and there. It's still functional but up to you if you still want it mate.

It's all in one piece. I'll check the clip holes tonight to see what condition they are in. If it rolls up I can post it. Are you going to any meets maybe?
