  1. Australians have RHD cars like we do. Many of the 1UZ aftermarket parts seem to be in Oz. I've not heard of the Hurricane brand before, but they seem to be the only off the shelf extractors left in the world. IMF 4-1 headers aren't available anymore and Neil at Rush has none left. Read some forum posts and they were claiming the 4-1 gave more power at the top end. They tend to be much shorter also. $695 aud, + shipping of about $300 aud, + import tax £?. So £650 to get them here plus whatever the tax is here. Still less than a quote I had for custom made ones. Anyone know a fabricator that could make some of these?
  2. Wondered if anyone has experienced these Hurricane headers? Link They are very similar to the Rush Imports which are currently unavailable. They are 4-2-1 collectors. Apparently this gives better low down torque.
  3. One of the best mods I did on the Celica. They are good looking, comfortable seats. More comfortable than my Supra seats I find.
  4. Great that you got yours sorted. Had a look at my relay box this evening. If someone can suggest what are the likely relays that have anything to do with the flashing o/d light I'm all ears. Mine might be different from the 2JZ though.
  5. I bought some bits from this one last week. Might have your sump. Ebay
  6. Best light of the day to take photos, and it shows! Great looking Supra. You must be frothing at the mouth for the day you can drive it
  7. There's a space in that lineup by the Impreza for you in your Supra You'll need a weapon if the yellow Elise has 400bhp.
  8. I thought the Elise came with the Toyota Celica 1.8 engine and the Exige was a supercharged varient. Didn't know there were companies swapping in Honda Vtec engines and supercharging them. http://www.hondaelise.com/ Well well well
  9. Your CPU is no.10 in the high performance chart of this list. Looks like a very good quad core CPU. Do you intend to use this for gaming or graphics work? http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html As for the DDR4 ram, if you are chasing benchmark figures then you'll get a higher score. If you just use it for games or general purpose you won't notice the performance difference. I have DDR2 ram in my ageing home machine and everything runs very well. That is crucial ballistix which was designed for a mild overclock. Asus board looks feature rich. It doesn't support DDR4 for future upgrading but I don't believe that matters. It has an integrated GPU which I pressume would only be useful if you want lots of monitors connected. My laptop has dual graphics but that's for power consumption optimisation. Quick look at G.Skill TridentX, and according to this benchmark you may be overspending on it. Seems the Ivy Bridge memery cache controller is keeping everything on a tight leash. http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/ram/38613-gskill-tridentx-ddr3-2400-ivy-bridge-memory/?page=7 If I was building another system I'd look at Corsair Dominator DDR3 Quad channel. The brand has been about for ages and is pretty solid. You could also consider hybrid HDDs that use solid state tech for the memory controller. This has higher performance while retaining large capacity. You could put your 2 drives into raid 0 as you have a raid controller on that Asus motherboard. It stripes the 2 drives into one big disk enabling double the bandwidth. It's rapid but the risk of data loss if 1 drive dies is twice as much.
  10. Did my college year at Hitchin when they first built the art and design building.
  11. I'm originally from Letchworth. You around that way?
  12. Would look pretty flash having 2 Toy-Astons on your drive. Right up to the point of turning the key. Celica in disguise also. Link No ♪♪Hatcha hatcha hatchaaa...♪♪ music can cover up the familiar roar of a 2.0 3SGE motor.
  13. He was at our Xmas do Andrew, you remember? Incredible performer
  14. Got a 1UZ but hopefully it's just as easy on mine as the TT. Had the breather hose off as it has a dirty great split on one end and needs replacing. Inside the throttle body looks surprisingly clean though.
  15. Yeah I was thinking that too. Hopefully it unbolts ok, definately the best way to clean it. Not had much luck with screws and bolts on this car so far. Actually it has problems starting from just 1 overnight rest. Went to a garage today asking about it. Could be an air leak in the system, possibly compression problems in the cylinders.
  16. The stuff that builds up in the throttle body is like marmite. My Supra is now having trouble starting if left for a week or more. I have to give a bit of throttle while cranking otherwise it makes a right fuss. Sound likely to be a dirty throttle body causing this? Is taking the inlet hose and spraying some carb cleaner with the engine running the best way to clean them?
  17. Yep, spoke with him a couple of times in the kitchen. Very talented guy and a great accent Thought he was Russian at first.
  18. Video games animator for the past 12 years. Worked on many of the Driver series games for Reflections, now Ubisoft North. Latest work was on Brink for Splash Damage on the PC, Xbox360 and PS3. Also involved with my wife's wedding photography business.
  19. Went to Zanzibar for my 30th with the wife. We really enjoyed it. Stayed at a place called Kendwa Rocks in the honeymoon suite. Warm Indian ocean, white icing sugar sand, very nice. Hired a 4x4 and teared up the island for a day going through local villages and foresty areas. Scuba diving, snorkelling etc. Good alternative to the Maldives if that's the kind of thing your looking for, just not as luxuirous.
  20. In short, no. One insert is complete, the other lost some lacquer on the chrome as the masking tape was removed. Bugger.. Simon said his heart dropped when that happened. Spoke to him on Friday, he's working the weekend and he's sure mine will be done early next week. Thinking of maybe going to Japfest. Last minute decision though so no club spot for me. The silver rings work very well on your car. Nicely done.
  21. It shouldn't cost anymore than £30 but I'll have to check it first. I had trouble finding a company that was prepared to refurbish these racks. So I got this one as a back up. Are you going to Japfest?
  22. Purchase Rush manifolds from Austrailia Fitting the Tanabe exhaust that is still in my garage. Fitting the facelift headlights if I EVER get the inserts back from the chromers.. Knight Racer is down the road from me. I'm thinking of going there for some hub centric spacers. They can't get that wrong, can they?.. Looking around the car if there is anything I'd like in stainless that I could have you build with V8 on it
  23. Got a spare one if you need it. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?266764-Steering-Rack
  24. Here's how mine looks: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?255952-Matt-black-Supra-V8-photo-shoot http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?250862-Supra-V8
