I gave it a test fit on mine and it tucks in well like you say. Here's a shot where you can see it pretty much flush with the underside, and a short video demonstrating how an iPhone7 mic can't quite handle the noise when revved up without the bung in place . [video=youtube;gi-5-0yFdyU]

The car had 60k miles when these parts were removed and were working fine when they came out. There was extensive work being carried out at the time and they were only replaced as part of the owners maintenance schedule.

There it is in black and white on the manufacturer website. Nice one Dunk [emoji6] I don’t recall it being stated from the place I bought mine, but I trust my memory a bit less now.

I had heard from some source that those Michelin tyres had a good sidewall edge to protect the rims. They are not advertised with that being a feature though so it’s down to people’s experience of particular tyres.

If you can wait until the next tyre change you could go for a brand that has a decent chunk of rubber side wall to protect the rim. Such as Michelin Pilot Super Sport that are on mine below. I’m sure other brands have this extra thick side wall too.

It does bend back, mostly. There was a ‘do not bend’ notice very clearly printed on the front which posty disregarded. If it was laminated in wood he’d have lobbed it over the gate and let it soak in the rain [emoji1]
