Maybe you guys are right. I have just received a price that is close to what I wanted for it so rather than cause any disturbance maybe I will just accept it.

For clarification, this set does come with the adjuster that allows you to select Dry, Wet,10%, 15%, 20% settings. It does not however come with the launch control. The current highest bid is for £425. I will keep this open for the times that I suggested in the first post to allow everyone a chance to see it and if two people make the same bid then I will honour the bid of the first person. Mark

Currently using the latest snooper S6 Neo with the laser/radar detector. Works well although I have found a couple of gatsos that weren't yet registered. My only complaint is that the radar detector keeps picking up K-band signals and if you have it set to detect radar you can't turn that noise off. Every minute it starts beeping. I have managed to get around this problem by setting it to only detect laser signals and let the GPS system tell me about Gatsos/Truvelos etc. Therefore I will have no warning about police radar and first shot laser (though it has picked up hidden laser once so far). Chris R on here has done an excellent installation in his car. .....Chris, if you are reading this can you post it up on here or are you going to start installing them professionally (if so how much as yours is that good) Hope this was useful MR D. I fully agree with that Asim. I love the sound of mine too. I just wish it had a baffle with it because it can get a little loud on the driveway when I am cleaning the ice off the windows in the morning.

Perhaps this'll get moved to a different thread but for now here goes: First of all, nice to meet a few new people today. Nice time Angie, I think I'll employ you as my driver next time. What would you guys call a good reaction time? Somebody running against me today did 0.671. Is there a value below which it records a false start? I feel that improvements in this area would significantly reduce my time more easily (and cheaply) than power modifications. I did manage a good 60ft time whilst running against Matt H but after this he just breezed on by. I have not yet installed my RLTC, and by looking at my times it suggests that a fair degree of throttle restraint is required up to and beyond 330ft so perhaps it would have helped slightly. For the record here is my best run (including reaction time) Reaction 1.063 60ft 2.271 330ft 6.027 1/8 8.898 1/8mph 85.48 3/16 11.299 1/4 13.430 1/4mph 109.37 If only I could get my reaction time down to 0.010 secs........... -
Thanks a lot Pete Unfortunately my IE no longer works so I am forced to use Netscape. I have been trying to get hold of you at the office for the last couple of days. Please check the answerphone for my mobile number. Mark

I know this has been covered before as I have read all the threads after using the search engine. The general consensus was that you can buy an hb4 or 9005 bulb to fit in the dipped light of a J-spec. Most mentioned that it needed modification to make it fit, but noone wrote how they got on with the modification. Which is the best dipped beam bulb to buy and what is the best method to modify it to fit in a J-spec headlight? Also, are any of you guys having any trouble reading all the posts that come up in each thread? At the moment if it says there are 7 postings in one threead then I can only see about 3.

dudersvr please can you elabolrate on this. What type is it that you have? If you can get them for anywhere near that price then I am definitely interested.

Who's interested in the possibility of cheaper insurance?
Mark D replied to Matt Harwood's topic in Insurance
Excellent idea Matt. Obviously I am interested and my insurance is also due for renewal at the end of April. I would much rather my money went to a company that supported us all as a group. Also I am sure that with the soon-to-arrive subscription fee for this site that a lot more owners would be enticed to join. More money for them, more money for us. Any more money for me???? -
Nick The group buy is on in the for sale/wanted section. If bought before feb28th the price will be £620 with optional fitting at £150. Go check it out.

Thank you for that explanation written in a way that allows people like me to understand. Obviously in my normal day to day driving I am never really in a situation where I have to worry about repeated hard braking, but this may change if I start to think about doing track days. Then if I am flush with cash all 4 brakes will be upgraded. I read somewhere that the braking system in the Supra had 'lateral G sensors'. You mentioned that the Supra had a slightly sophisticated ABS setup. Does anyone know if this is true and how it works?
-
Is it just me or are there too many jokes that can be made about that comment (or do we tend to shy away from the topic of erectile dysfunction)?
-
I really don't know enough yet, but why is it ok to upgrade just the front brakes and leave the rear ones relatively underpowered? Surely this will cause an imbalance in braking particularly when not in a straight line which could lead to loss of control. I would be most grateful if somone could explain this to me before I think about any brake upgrade.

Thanks for that. I have managed to find a site with some explanation and some advice for installing. It is for an Audi S4, but I think it may still be useful to someone. http://home.pacbell.net/gj_os/evc.html
