  5. lol thanks for all the thoughts guys really mixed views.....i think im goin to go for it as i really like the design of the bonnet so either was its a winner...try it as carbon then maybe paint it in the future! I'll post pics up if i do go for it in a new thread! But only post a reply in the thread if there nice replys hehe Thanks again all...feel free to keep posting replys up Thanks as always Paul
  6. yer its knight racer im in contact with! there using the hybrid carbon which is lighter than the standard carbon thisis what the spent there time (kindly) explaining: But now, we have discontinued that range of carbon as we have developed a new type of carbon which we call "Hybrid Carbon". Regular carbon bonnets which you find on the market now are only real carbon on the surface under the gel coat, if you looked on the underside of the bonnet you will see a thick layer of fibreglass and a fibreglass skeleton. Overall weight is often not much less than the standard, and in some applications even heavier. Approximately 10-20 percent is carbon fibre. Hybrid Carbon bonnets use a real carbon skin, with our new Hybrid Resin which is a lot stronger, shock resistant, and requires no extra fibreglass re-enforcement meaning it is significantly lighter than regular carbon bonnets. Only the skeleton is FRP. Approximately 75-80% is real carbon fibre. In our top of the range "Hybrid Carbon COMPLETE" even the skeleton is real carbon fibre, making the complete construction 100% carbon fibre. so its a good quality one. also the air scoops will help cool the engine down, also has the exits for heat...helping in performance (not alot) but every bit helps! if the carbon look does go out of "supra fashion" as such and i my self go of i can get it sprayed for 150 diblets!
  7. but i want to be different u know its me if u see the car with the blue wheels...didnt wanna go for silver or black rims.....
  8. well i found a few blue supras with the carbon bonnets, looks quite cool but no wow factor http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/2276/3097930279large.th.jpg http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/1986/supra01.th.jpg and the bonnet i like sprayed http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/9937/absprayed.th.jpg
  9. hay guys, just wondering what peoples opinions on carbom bonnets are? Im quite interested in the abflug one which is this one http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/3039/bonnetq.th.jpg and this is my car http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/8903/14072009275.th.jpg http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/3294/14072009276.th.jpg coold thing i was thinking aswell is that it would mach the carbon on my TRD spoiler. And most importantly reduce weight. Its not just a standard carbon bonnet either its a new type of carbon called Hybrid Carbon so its lighter than the normal carbon bonnets. Thoughts? Thanks
  10. Well the car isnt cold cold, to temp in inbetween like it should be, its after a drive it happens. Yer im sure the 2nd tubo just kicks in coz you feel it at around 4000PRM then btween 5 and 6000 RPM the car started to cut back. And when it happens there seems to be an every so slightly lil but more oil coming out the dump valve.
  11. I sorted out the 1 Bar buisness with adjusting my boost controller. Now, when the car is cold its perfect! nice, quick and well fun But when it warms up after a lil bit of driving, the boost problem starts around 5000 RPM on wards. Inoticed b4 the boost cuts back a deep whiste of air releases then the boost its lost. So somewere under large boost when warm its escaping out the system. Possiable wastgate problem? maybe actuator issue? Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks as always Paul
  12. Hi guys, im sure there will be alot of eye rolling when you all see this thread as there as been so much dicussion b4 about these boost controllers with the crazy amount of functions lol. Ok issue am getting is that i cant get over 1 bar of boost but i used to always run over! I may have pushed the wrong button recently when changing views etc. Just wondering what every1's boost settings are? I have a Jap spec BPU Thanks Paul
  13. im not getting involved lol
  14. i cant find any hose that would course a leak anywere looks like i will have to book it in with Whifbitz as they did the controller! I was always over 1 Bar of boost after the controller was fitted.
  15. ok thanks...if i dont get any luck i will have to contact Paul at whifbitz and get him to look at the settings aswell just in case i adjusted sumin by mistake.... Thanks PAul
  16. boost leak? god knows were that could be coming from...any common places?
  17. yer its been over 1 Bar before... Just randomly started doin it
  18. Hay guys wierd problem again.... My supra wont go over 1 Bar of boost! I have a HKS fuel cut and a blitz i-colour boost controller... As soon as it gets to 1Bar it just stays around there and holds back. Do you think it will be a controller adjustment or a fault with the fuel cut...or sumin different? Thanks Paul
  19. sorted it now on the small grub screw on the throttle body thanks anyway for looking Paul
