  1. After some advice from scott regarding replacing one of my Jspec rear calipers due to seizing im highly considering getting some UK rear brakes as there bigger and duel piston not single. Just asking people if they think there alot better? Is it worth £300 upgrading to used rear calipers or just replace the one siezing reat j spec caliper i have for £100? Opinons? Thanks Paul
  2. Will do pal. Never thought about it like that. Thanks again for your time
  3. Just the one caliper scott as this one is sticking mate. Other seems ok, If i get problems i will change the other, thanks for the advice pal
  4. Well went to fit the caliper today and it as the wrong one so gotta take it back and wee that they can get ...It seemed the same in the box from non piston side. Look at the difference: http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/4364/20110327002.jpg http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/8523/20110327003.jpg http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/3280/20110327004n.jpg Wonder what caliper its for? P.s: Bleeding went well, 1st time ive doen it. Bought this bleed kit from Halfords for a fiver. Came with the pot, 1 way valve pipe and worked a charm!
  5. Sorry to post up on this again, but if there as been DOT3 or 5 used on the car atm (as i dont think there is a test to check) would it matter if i used DOT4 and it mixed? Thanks Paul
  6. LOL that would be interesting but i have a feeling my answer would be "Its very Fast" haha
  7. When i was looking for mine one thing i said no matter how well priced it was and what it had on it i didnt want Black, Silver or White as its all comman and bland (although all colours look nice) its just my opinion, but thats why we all have different tastes so i waned blue, gunmetal, yellow, green, maybe orange or red just not Black, Silver or White and i still dont look back as i love the Bayside Blue i have on mine. I think resparaying it will just be a waste of money if you want a common colour, if it was something different an unique its worth it. Id say sell yours and buy a Silver one mate. Thats the cheaper option. Theres always silver ones about. Hope my advice was ok Paul
  8. Nice disrciption, plenty of details LOL http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2642637.htm
  9. I'll be totaly honest. The only part I understand of this story is that you "flung juice all over the bonnet of his car" i may seem stupid but i im not following at all what happened before this?
  10. mr wilson u are a man of knowlage, thanks for the help
  11. haha ok thanks chris And do we use DOT4?
  12. Ok thanks for the tips guy i have bleed kit... DOT4 fluid i assume and to bleed the new caliper do the usal poor fluid in - undo nipple - pump brake - do up nipple - poor fluid in - undo nipple - pump brake - do up nipple till all air bubbles have gone? Thanks Paul
  13. Got my new caliper today, well re manufactured and i was considering changing it myself as im not to shabby with repairs ect.. But i have never changed a caliper before. How difficault is it on the supra's? I suspect not much different to other cars.. Thanks Paul

    whats a cat?

Or if you know some one that will give you an MOT certificate cat or no cat makes life easyer!! Not that i would know of coarse!
  18. yer thats what i have just done, mine was tempramental... still need to fit the new one that a got 2nd hand off a member
  19. iv used mine everytime it snows... Just gotta use good clutch control and be careful
  20. Problem solved. Went to the motor spares place today and one was duel piston lol. so there was just 1 that was single piston. Single piston was more expensive suprisingly..
  21. Seba is right, there offereing 2 different brands of single pot piston rears. They found the parts via my Reg so they know that year is was so regarding face list and pre facelift it shouldnt be an issue but TBH with imports its never 100% correct on the system so thats why it may be giving 2 options. Thanks scooter for looking The only pictures i have of my rear calipers is this (sadly its not to clear): http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/9681/dsc03501ni.jpg http://img863.imageshack.us/img863/6416/11082009297.jpg If the rears came always the same package as the front this is the front if it helps: Thanks Paul
  22. Hay all. I was on the phone to my local motor spares place to ask if they can get me a rear brake caliper for my 1993 TT manual jap spec and they said there 2 brands for my car. Does it matter which one it is? Are they the same? i did say to him its single piston but he said both of these brands available are single piston. One has a brand with AKE and the other is one with a symble oe something. Any ideas people? Thanks Paul
  23. No luck? I swear people alwasys are stripping there supras.. I'll give keron PM..
