17" wheels fitted i think larger will upset handling

my previous tyres were shocking , although had about 50% tread,perhaps people are just leaving tyres on too long!

bf goodrich profilers -brand new -can,t fault them

ive read several posts about losing traction in wet -mine does not do this! plenty power, just flies! could it be using larger wheels/lower profiles is detrimental?
