    trailer

im looking for a car transporter/trailer,anyone got one for sale /rent? just got another jag:stupid: I gotta get it from oop north to Cardiff, hmmm if I fit a towbar to the supe I wonder how fast it would tow car is 16,2"x 6,2", thanks
  2. im using slotted rotors -cant see how they are any better than stock, i think pad selection is more critical
  3. you could pull fuses one at a time and see which circuit is causing the drain, then try to isolate further
  4. do you have anything on your passenger seat? sounds daft ,but 5 or 10 kgs and the weight sensor thinks someones there with no belt on
  5. every engine start takes 6-10 miles to replenish the battery,so short trips slowly reduce battery capacity, when temp drops battery capacity also drops, plus cold engine oil(thicker) puts more load on starter - hence winter battery probs-best slow charge 1-2 amperes for 48 hrs at beginning of winter.its hard to find the old fashioned chargers with low current, usually the made in china 5/7/10 amp halfrauds type which have very poor regulation on them and can buckle the lead plates in battery or cause deposits in battery case. ive got a couple of old chargers that i use,got them at an autojumble for £3 each should last another 30 years:)
  6. jaguar do an oil for lsd diff, but they usually only have huge drums of it , ive asked nicely before and they have put a couple of LTRs in a bottle for me -i dont think its compatable with non lsd diffs
  7. they wouldnt, but ecu,s dont suffer from grounding problems, more prone to spiking, usually all electonic boxes are fairly well protected from earthing probs, and if any cars chassis is rust free "extra" earth /bonding leads are unnecessary,if any one system ie lights,or heater is poor due bad earth return why not just replace that one wire, rather than re-earth the complete car with £80 worth of cable?
  8. unless your existing earth points are corroded , this will be a pointless exercise, yes audio signals can be affected, but as for headlights etc ???,even ecu,s are more likely to be affected by voltage spikes more than anything else, strikes me as "snake oil" unlike my old rope for £50:)
  9. you are willing to pay £80 for a bit of cable:eek: im in the wrong business, got some old rope if you want £50:p
  10. I would start looking at the wiring you did for the fogs .the flasher unit will have a set resistance to operate( the 4 indicators) ,sounds like it has too much loading(fogs!) hazard lights usually have their own flasher unit so still work
  11. i,ve been running that boost for the last 9 months turbos still ok:eek: im just waiting for them to die then i can go single

    lucky

yes had a new belt 2 months ago, i guess they used prybar to lever the fan belt on ..

    lucky

did an oil change today, on removing the plastic tray, a heavy lump of steel fell out..... on close inspection, the outer ring of the crankshaft pulley had separated the belt tensioner had pulled the belt onto the remaining rubber inner and still worked! how lucky is that?.....
  14. just some feedback on shocks- i fitted kyb shocks on standard j spec springs they are fabulous for handling perhaps a bit harsh over poor road surfaces , they are top adjustable, ive only used the lowest setting. £100 each a++++ recommended!
  15. this unit may actually work, and increase flow if it can maintain the increase in current flow , your pümp doesnt overheat,or pump wires, or the pump insulation breaks down ! coüld also set fire to yoür pride and joy
  16. i believe its type 2 or 4 for auto gearbox and 3 for p/s
  17. dextron type 3 fluid- carefull what you chrome plate chromed surfaces do not dissipate heat as well as flat/black surfaces
  18. sounds like you are low on refridgerant try getting it regassed -all aircon systems will leak slowly due porous hoses, leaks increase if aircon seldom used usually via compressor seals, case is if you
  19. boeing wheels full of nitrogen too
  20. barry(banned-ho ho) I guess u pushed the loud pedal at the wrong time!
  21. yeah -had it a month , new kyb shocks fitted today , de cat ,and zorst fitting tomorrow !
  22. 17" wheels fitted i think larger will upset handling
  23. my previous tyres were shocking , although had about 50% tread, perhaps people are just leaving tyres on too long!
  24. bf goodrich profilers -brand new -can,t fault them
