  1. It sounds like it does not have enough fluid in it,even though the dipstick says full, was it seated properly in the gearbox and fully home/free to turn/engaged on spline? no weight was put on the gearbox spline during removal? either way it will have to come out again ,inspect the tc for any witness marks of rubbing and check the spline coupling for any damage, you can get the tc repaired in this country if it is damaged.did it come with new bolts?
  2. The reason I said it can cause damage is not due a contact problem valves against piston but a pressure problem if boost is applied with pistons/valves out of sequence the pistons will not stop dead at the time of the belt snapping and still compress, the boost pressure will also not instantly drop to zero with this odd combination the pressure must go somewhere via rings or head gasket? ,the ignition system will not know instantly that the timing belt is snapped so as long as the engine is still rotating it will still fire the plugs but totally out of sequence this is a very bizarre sequence of events and happens very fast, god knows what the shock loads do on the crank. if the engine was NA then it would be ok as the piston can only suck via the valves and cannot be on compression/up stroke with incoming pressure.this is my theory and I am frequently proved wrong:)
  3. Even though the engine is non interference does not mean it cannot be damaged if the belt lets go at high boost/high rpm and valves are out of timing . may be ok if it happens at start up or idle but I for one am never that lucky

    V8 Supra anyone?

Gazboy has the right idea corvette engine is the way to go and still have change from the price of a single turbo upgrade without all the hassle
  5. surely the principle is we all pay in-so we use the nhs regardless ... If you start down the smokers route ,then why should I pay for someone who has a big nose,or small tits or too big tits,or cant have kids,or has a mole or who is fat as fcuk or drives fast cars..............where do you stop? I suspect that females are more "sickly" than males so should they pay more? saying that I bet there are more blokes off sick with "football fever" at the moment
  6. Spent many years there,my Dad is from T&T,so I cant help but support them, now the Trinis really know how to party,nil- nil half time best open a bottle of rum:d
  7. what is the oil level like?could have blown a seal f/r crank, with a rebuilt engine the oil pressures are stupidly high, hope its something easy
  8. dont forget that the turbine section of the turbo also uses the heat energy from the exhaust gasses which would not be present if run by compressed air alone,so it would be a pretty inefficient way of trying to spool a turbo, would be nice if it worked though!
  9. Ashbhp-yes I got it ,but asking me to send pics on computers is like asking david beckham his knowledge on boolean logic mathmatics
  10. I think he means is there a fuel supply,as the fuel pump is electric, and electric motors can stick if not used for a time
  11. for sale aeromotive fpr £75 new in box
  12. Diesels suffer from water in the fuel especially if parked up without full tank,in the engine bay you should find a drain plug usually on the bottom of the fuel filter, drain this first.they can also get air in the fuel lines so next up is to bleed them.glow plugs as previously mentioned also some have a glow plug relay/timer.hopefully not the fuel pump/distributer as they can shear the drive in them cos of dirt in fuel and no one ever changing the fuel filter'
  13. you could pressurise the water system,if you have a coolant system tester(pump),disconnect the oil lines at the turbo and see if water is coming out of the oil holes (ie knackered turbo),oil pressure is usually above water pressure except of course when the engine has just been shut down.worth a try and fairly easy to do,hth
  14. as the fault first happend straight after the jump start, have you tried another battery in your car and checked the earth connections, you may have knackered a cell in your battery, causing it to internally short out now, funny how favours sometimes backfire(no pun intended)
  15. very good analogy with the HI-FI ,its a bit like having a 10 watt speaker, and soldering in a 1000 watt resistor on the back -and hey presto- ive got a 1010 watt speaker --beat that! , If it was easy to double the bhp on a 300 bhp stock engine, how come porsche, jaguar, bmw, etc find it so expensive to make their race cars?surely they can just bolt on a big turbo, and add an egt guage for peace of mind
  16. best display since the germans did one circa 1944-oops not politically correct
  17. if speed is your ultimate goal, then reducing weight is far easier and way cheaper, the downside is your road car looks like shit, and there are no comforts. even 500 bhp will not be either cheap or really reliable, its still a large increase in power over stock, even with toyotas good design, and build quality ,165 bhp / litre is a big ask,its almost the same as TWO 5.3 v12 jags!!! I know there are guys and gals on here with quite large increases in power but I suspect that we will see a lot of threads shortly"my engine has gone bang":scare:- probably on a dyno !
  18. 700 bhp and relialbility will not go hand in glove, and most people could not afford it,and as a road car is mad!,how many on this board have whacked the car -summer and winter in standard trim? let alone 600plus bhp
  19. I bet the motec problems forum is a strangely baren place:whistle:
  20. I used roil in my sit on mower,it now makes 500bhp @ the blades, did the millenium stadium in 2 minutes, dropped the roil out fed it to my dog,he now has the softest, shiney coat. highly reccommended- buy now before they run out of stock ideal xmas present, for all ages
  21. Im 7 miles from bristol,tel 01633866865-Adam
