  1. 30 amp on each pin would be a very large connector ,and look crap,I doubt each injector would take anywhere near that, there are connectors with just one or two higher power pins and the rest more normal ratings ,if only the supply line has to be 30 amps
  2. looks like you have green and blue supply for open and close, splice these into the doorlock switch open and close wires that go to the solenoid inthe drivers door-sounds easy but probably not! as earth line is not mentioned, "professional installation strongly reccommended" is writen at the top in bold!
  3. I would suggest using a quick release singlewire connector, one on each wire, they are small, easy to fit, sealed water/fuel/heat proof ,use gold pins and sockets for minimum resistance, rated at about 20amps but I doubt you would require that much. the best bit is that they are quick release and should be used in the whole car wiring. I may have some in my tool box that I can send you ,left over from my aircraft days,if not I can ask some old mates if they can"relocate"some from stores for me. I guess that you would need around 16-18 gauge size
  4. supra grounding kit, blue colour cables, does it work? is it worth it ? dont know ,but its £10 +p&p if anyone wants it
  5. jagman

    roll cage

In the light of the recent spate of supra accidents it could be the best thing he ever purchased-a lifesaver for the price of a weekend on the p-ss
  6. jagman

    roll cage

SOLD !! ,rest of you guys are too slow -2 mins ,thats fast
  7. for sale- aluminium roll cage, bolt in, by heigo-germany, pm me with offer
  8. jagman

    sender unit

I have a complete unit here already fitted with a walbro pump(new)ready to drop in the tank pm me an offer if you want it
  9. You would be suprised at the weight saving doing your own looms and connectors, you can also fit a master circuit breaker panel and do away with the crappy fuse box ,also add breakouts for diagnosis and faults.use thinner cables as there is always some leeway in cable capacity helps if you keep loom thickness to a minimum and run an extra loom as heat is reduced,on important looms ie for fuel pumps quality cable will reduce volts drop too
  10. aeroquip was originally for aircraft use and thus the prices! the cost of a hydraulic line fail on an aircraft can run into 10s of thousands of pounds,so reliability is paramount ,the race car fraternity soon latched on to the use of aircraft fittings for light weight and reliability and hence aeroquip sold to the motor market and saw no need to reduce prices, same deal with the race car electrical connectors /wiring /composites/alloys all started via aircraft industry and all bloody expensive
  11. OH dear!! 1/when not in use you are carrying around the extra weight of compressor motor and batteries 2/the compressor is a centrifugal compressor these require very fast rotational speeds to provide boost -leading to 3/ a motor capable of both high start torque and high speeds(a compound motor) DC as its battery driven ,so as low voltage it must have high ampereage (power = voltsxamps) this leads to massive heat losses and the motor must be huge 4/ the batteries must also be huge/heavy to supply the large power requirement,as must the cables 5/ is this charger to be in line with the current intake ?,ie the intake air passes through the charger when it is not being spun up this just makes it an obstruction to air flow when not in use, reducing power!!! 6/ if it is fitted in parallel to the standard air intake as an "extra"intake source then a check valve must be fitted to stop the charged air simply blowing out the intake, how is that to be controlled? 7/ what happens to the excess boosted air (should it actually work) when you come off the throttle and the charger is still running? 8/they quote over 450 cfm air flow,(good for about 300 bhp),how did they get this figure? was it flowing air into a restriction ie an engine or free flow to atmosphere? boost pressure takes energy and a lot of it, 40-60 bhp off the crank is not unusual for a charger, imagine an electric motor/battery that can produce 60bhp!! 9/I guess this brilliant idea was beyond the the thinking of the motor industry for over 100 years 10/ Ive got some AAA batteries strapped to a hair drier, good for 50 bhp,as tested by the automobile association of Cambodia, yours for the bargain price of £99.99,buy now before the xmas rush!!! it also improves mileage by 40% ,it is aslo eco friendly being made by a small indian tribe in south america--- website under construction www.
  12. line lock for sale ,has stainless lines fitted, easy fitment, only requires a switch (on/off) £50
  13. Hi , the I just got a supra and want to tune it opening is quite common,I would suggest checking the brakes, shocks, driveline components cooling hoses, rubber components, belts, wheel bearings, fluids, engine, gearbox, mounts, wiring ,damper, timing belt, oil consumption, radiator, tyres, FIRST ,then look for tuning ideas, and opinions,of which there is a wealth of on here.
  14. this chap needs mental care and not prison, the killing of the bird is not good, and a bit bizarre but it is only a bird, millions of birds are killed by cats and nothing done about that,so harsh sentence to say the least, plus its my tax paying for the court case and detention ,there are better things to spend it on.His religion is academic, and a bit stupid of him to try to defend his actions by using it. the same would be true if the chap was christian and was eating goldfish saying he had to have fish on friday but would he have been given a custodial sentence? it is possible that prior to this incident he fullfilled a very usefull role in society and to kick him out also a bit harsh, then again he might always have been a "nutter"
  15. I believe the guy in the states is now in the mid 10s with his MINI and making 600bhp !!!! and you lot are struggling with a multivalve ,twin turbo,3 litre ,straight six , there is a guy in UK running a mini one with nitrous (1320 autos) getting mid 12s come on you supra owners do keep up:d you might see in the spirited driving section I got mullered by a mini!!!
  16. update for those interested, and there is a possible supra application, the charger project has progressed well and is now fitted to the car, some superb cad/machine work has produced a better than factor fit, I have incorporated some of my own ideas and refinements, and have a list of possible upgrades to the kit for the future -up to 400-500 bhp is possible, with great expense and only of real use to a drag fanatic/race car. One of the innovations is the fitting of a 5th injector directly into the charger intake, helping to cool the charge air (akin to water injection) as employed on the later merlin engines to great effect. there is also a provision for a 6th injector post charger if required. The beauty of this is the ECU can remain stock.the interesting thing is we have a control unit which can fire upto 4 extra injectors controlled accurately and with manifold temp being monitored and used to enrichen if temp approached a det condition -so inbuilt safety, this development could be used to remove the maf sensor in the supra and add extra injectors simultaneously.road tests/dyno in Jan

    why?

poly tanks may distort a bit , but the fuel level float and its pivot are fixed to the unit which drops in the top of the tank,so even if the tank sagged the fuel level would drop relative to the top of the tank so the guage would underread when full and over read when empty the opposite of what you now get,- back to the bi metal heat thing which has another benefit that the needle will not fluctuate when the cars voltage varies between battery voltage and alternator voltage . as a side note on instruments also of little value, the water temp guages are not linear so the distance between C and N is usually not the same temp difference between N and H , so if you show a reading over the normal setting car running hot and start pannicking it may be only a few degrees C a sign that all is not well but not imminent melt down about to happen, should it continue to rise then panic
  18. once upon a time tuning engines involved adding more carburettors or larger carbs in order to flow more air into an engine as its the maximum airflow that will dictate the maximum power, with the onset of fuel injection the throttle body replaced the carb so by adding multiple bodies you increase the area from a single one so you flow more air, there is a place in manchester that can supply throttle bodies and manifolds for most cars and various sizes available im sure they would do one for the n/a supra --www.dtafast.co.uk
  19. jagman

    why?

saggy tank theory made me laugh! revisit the bi metal strip /heat theory, all cars have this saggy tank then? some cars have a linear guage but they use a chip ,and it costs more to produce so a coil/ bi metal strip is used and because it uses heat which is retained ,it stops the needle bouncing up/down when the fuel sloshes about which would happen if the guage was a moving coil instrument or moving magnet instrument-you have your answer to the initial why?
  20. jagman

    why?

Its because the fuel guage works on heat created by a small current coil ,when full tank ,the heat is higher and retained hence the needle slow to drop at low levels heat is lower and dissipates into the air easier hence needle drops faster
  21. stock viper is a 12.3 qtr car,you do not spank one, many are 7-9 second cars! I say again there is no substitute for cubes
  22. I am suprised I havent seen a supra with the list of decals on the wing HKS GREDDY BLITZ EBAY
  23. RS components sell them about 0.4 pence (priced for the supra market then:) ) each various sizes available check out their website
  24. there are things called solder sleeves, they are heat shrunk onto the cable after stripping the outer insulation and have a pig tail that makes the extra wire , the heat shrinking both seals the sleeve and melts a blob of solder in the sleeve -perfect
