  1. Just spend a few days in the Loo ,with 10 lts of water and a maxi pack of bog rolls, turn up the central heating a lot - much cheaper!!
  2. "Really dont want to sell my current ones but am worried that when they wont give enough traction when the single build is finished." Why do you think that there will be any significant increase in traction between say 9.5 inch and 10.5 inch wheels ? how much more contact area is there? and how much contact area lost due offset errors from stock
  3. What's the voltage across the battery when running?

    OIL spill

Its easy to simply point at BP , but it could have been any of the rigs in that area - Transocean are keeping a low profile eh!! It was all their equipment and staff and due to US labour laws ALL US citizens working ,designing ,installing and applying safety checks and inspections - Still BPs fault though eh ,even though they could not choose who to use , or even staff it Tax Breaks , you are having a laugh , check out where Haliburton is registered (Dubai) and where Transocean is registered (Swiss? i think) Even BP is 40% US owned - tax breaks my arse !

    OIL spill

In 1988 Just off the coast of Aberdeen, there was an oil rig called Piper Alpha - owned and operated by an American company called occidental . It exploded due bad maintanence practices 167 people died - Not 1 charge was made against the US company.............. How many more incidents involving American companies would you like me to quote?- there are many worldwide America lost the moral high ground years ago. Look at the recent treatment of Toyota over the throttle pedals,Did that seem reasonable? Such games of politics can easy backfire,as I said : shoot from the hip ........

    OIL spill

When this story first broke , I took an interest to find out more ,partially as my Brother is in the oil game . On seeing the technical difficulties, I thought people simply do not inderstand the enormity of the problem -its HUGE!! At that point Obama and the US govt should have taken control and asked for world wide assistance to stop the leak , But NO they left it fair and square at BPs door -BPs mess,BPs clean up ,BPs fix ... Then they consulted the Law to see how much they would be liable for ....oops only $75 million , and they cant alter the law to act retrospectively .... Now more and more Americans are becoming aware of the scale of the problem and the cost ... so only then do they decide to prosecute ,why ? , because the fines are much higher and related to each barrel of oil spilled - not because Obama has balls For the Americans to take the moral high ground and wave the ECO flag given their history of consumption and pollution is almost laughable .it seems that it matters not ,,,until it affects the USA The solution to stopping the flow will probably require some sort of controlled explosions to blow the pipe closed or the fissure in the earth closed , but when I first posted this topic , the govt should have been full on testing any and all means of closing the pipe on a world wide basis of knowlwdge not sitting back and pointing at BP - Legally -a mess, ecologically- a mess ,and politically -a mess
  9. Braided hoses can fail an MOT as they cannot be inspected for cracks, depends on the tester-I guess you line is x threaded Or the wrong thread or end fitting

    OIL spill

Actually the rig is owned and operated by Transocean and thus their responsibility, The major contracted company was Haliburton, both US owned companies-it's not quite so easy to point fingers let alone prosecute As to Obama, the Nobel prize winner!,I guess given for not being G Bush- Time will tell........ If you keep shooting from the hip,you will end up shooting your foot off . Obama will soon find this out!!

    OIL spill

Quite right too , but Americans have to consider the world outside the USA - Exxon have been spilling millions of gallons of oil in the Niger delta for years , do they give a toss about that ? or oil spills off Indonesia? again are they bothered ? US foreign policy leaves much to be desired as do the practices of its companies BP will be the target as they will be seen as the one with money to pay,but there are US companies involved with this spill too Obama will continue with looking good , and his soundbites ,and then the lightweight will be told what to do by the business powers -coverup coming ...
  12. The top dog always eats first , so you eat or even pretend to eat and the dog must wait until you offer it food ..... this can lead to a lot of drool but after time the dog realises that it is down the pack order , and thats where they should be Around 2 years old dogs like to try to increase their pack position

Oh, you mean like the blame assessment carried out with Union Carbide after Bhopal , where they killed a few thousand. Remind me what they paid out The reality is the USA , now more than ever needs investment capital, and if companies feel they are open season for the Us lawyers in the even of being liable or culpable, they will not invest Oil is king, business is business, people are at the low priority end of the scale ........Politics eh!!

  15. I would have thought that any big power rebuild would use a new head , but those without budget available -well worth getting the used heads checked ,they also suffer with heat cycle defects as well as material changes with age

    OIL spill

No matter how "expert" the oil industry thinks it is, when dealing with the forces of nature, you can always be beat! Plonking things in the sea bed , beyond human reach is never going to be 100% reliable ,but the world needs oil!! If the following investigation were along air crash investigation lines the exact cause would be found, but I suspect there will be the mother of all coverups here- a blame free result and much finger pointing,
  17. I think near £4000 for me to fit an LPI system -needs 2 tanks and 2 pumps (the pumps are only rated to around 500 bhp max ) Other than high octane , clean burning so a clean engine and no bore wash , no oil dilution, long burn duration , plenty of heat to spool turbo, huge intercooling effect to make your sports car err ....sportier Oh and its cheap...

Well a month on ,and $23 million a day, still it leaks-- They really, really need ideas on a postcard now, they have tried Bruce Willis, but he insisted that he would wear a vest, and it would have breached BP dress code....

  24. Capitalism needs 3 layers of wealth -if you like lower/ middle/upper-,communism has only 2 layers Upper/lower Both systems need movement between layers to succeed, during a boom in capitalism evrything is rosey, there is movement upwards ,lower to middle, middle to upper, During a bust movement reverses, but it's the middle bit that dictates the rules both ways , for example healthcare. It's the middle bit that causes revolt or uprisings, create innovation, etc to avoid major troubles the middle bit is paramount, and that is the bit now being /,will be hit thus causing too much movement downwards Troubles ahead indeed............ I phone and fingers like pigs tits hence odd writing!!
