    new budget

Down!! Somewhere between zero and zero. Probably a delayed rise so people don't instantly react and maybe a rise if VAT is adjusted
  2. Fair play, given the problems you have had along your conversion path, you have stuck to your task , many would have given up by now. It gives everyone an insight into just how hard such projects are, and you have done it all by eye , no CAD/CAM,and trial and error used .and all for less than a F1 team spend on one steering link ! Such DIY rocks, who needs HKS
  3. I would snatch their hand off , 2k off will be a bargain , Wales is highly dependent on public sector jobs , and they are about to be brutalised . Something like 40000 alone in Swansea New Cgt tax could also push lots of property on the Market
  4. Manual tensioner is cool, there could be 50 bhp worth of power and torque through the charger pulley at full boost , so tight is good - any slippage will show on boost guage or dyno
  5. I'm on mahou classica? In ice cold glasses, the noise in here is unbelievable
  6. I'm in a bar in Spain, flags, shirts, and vuvuwotsits everywhere, you could feel the relief when Spain scored!I think the commentator nearly had a heart attack
  7. Remember under boost the belt is more prone to slip
  8. http://www.littlefoxeshotel.co.uk/ I've stayed there a few times , 24 hour collection from the airport and safe parking
  9. Like any sport when you are in the "zone" you are unstopable, talent Plus mental attitude = win All the practice and training won't help with out the above. England players are so far from the zone it's on another planet! The S Americans are shaping up and will provide the memorable moments that history will remember. They look at ease with the ball, balanced, two footed, with a desire to have the ball. The European teams on the whole do not and simply playing training routines. The actual ball seems to difficult for keepers to hold on to , and long rang shots often come loose in the box, Strikers don't seem to Have twigged this and they are not following up the 30 yard shots , Lazy football!!
  10. It's looking like the S American teams are dominating, just Honduras remaining - could it be that they simply have more talent?
  11. http://www.politician-pictures.com/naked-kim-jong-il.jpg "where is Portugal?,can we attack them? ,do they have a navy?
  12. Ah well at least the S African stray dogs will be reduced, curried Poodle anyone ?
  13. pin 1 and 2 - run the motor up/down depending on which is pos and neg Pin 4/5 are the limit switches -these allow either up or down selection for your needs just use pin 1 and 2 -
  14. For you yes, but others without the kings ransom available may not have thought about having an autodim fitted or not realised that Toyota did one
  15. Why not just fit a soarer mirror ? At least it's auto dimming !
  16. Is it a cheaper return flight if they book earlier ?
  17. 2 anecdotes ; My mobile rung due there being a break in at the industrial unit I had , the alarm is one of these all singing dancing affairs that do not have suprious warnings and need 2/3 trips to trigger . Now the unit is 400 meters from the police station So I call them to get them to go and check it out , Er NO , its not policy im told !! so as Keyholder off I rush with my Dog ( he huge !) Sure enough there was a break in , The following morning I was visted by SOC for fingerprints , statements etc - six hours later they were done and I asked why no one could simply have gone from the station or radio a local car ? - Not policy I was told , too time consuming and expensive , what to actually catch criminals !! and you,ve just spent 6 hours here ! What if I had been there and the robbers were still there ? could I set my dog on them ...NO you would be charged for that ! What if they attacted me with a baseball bat ? - shrug shoulders , not our policy sir !! 2. I was asked to attend a open day at the local police with a car to use for a display ; car was used to have a sort of quiz on how to secure cars and not show things on display like laptops on the rear seat etc.. On walking round the show I noticed that the most popular stall in the whole show (other than the speed camara display) was the one displaying the body armour and snipers guns and weapons. Ther were kids all over the stall looking at the weapons On meeting the chief constable later that day I asked him , why if the theme of the day was care in the community and community policing was there a need to glorify the weapons they had to a bunch of kids ?......He simply walked off...
  18. So someone has a pint at home and an emergency happens say his wife is in labour or such like , then he drives to the hospital ,gets stopped and should thus go to jail ? 1 in 6 deaths are drink related , what about the other 5 ? do they not merit the same importance and expenditure? 50 people are killed every year by the Police going in pursuit of cars , so are they a catalyst for road death? should they be charged and jailed ?
  19. From the OPs original question - Yes the cars will become increasingly hard to sell- I got my first supe 8 years ago ish and the current prices are not that far off what I paid then. The cars are older and have the potential for large bills simply to keep roadworthy,a £1000 bill could easy happen just with worn out suspension. They are a dream car for many , but dreams and reality can clash, used car sales are all partof selling dreams ,,, A quick look at the parts wanted/ for sale section shows how many people are trying to run these cars on a budget, does no one simply go to Toyota and buy what they need? The short ownership and turnover in the cars is a sign of the "dream car" status and the use of second hand parts the reality bit. The economy is in meltdown and the premium prices paid over the last few years during boom/ feelgood times is about to go into reverse. However there will be the diehard owners that have the money and the skills to keep the dream going, the project cars and the cherished examples- these are the cars to get , but they are far and few between and outnumbered by too many poorly maintained, rough cars , just waiting to shatter someones dream
  20. Voltages can be checked off load or on load- if the pump is disconnected it's off load - so you would get battery voltage, if not exactly battery voltage then a connection problem If voltage on load (pump connected) then the voltage can drop a bit , but too much means the pump is knackered - dragging down the volts or filter blocked , making the pump work harder Y ou can use a bulb and 2 pieces of wire to simulate on load ( if bulbs big enough) and check if the bulb dims compared to straight across the battery
  21. Sounds like you need a new pump and filter
  22. Nice results, too much emphasis is made with dyno numbers and often the power delivery is forgotten, the1jZ has great delivery and response , must be a nice drive

    oil!!!

US debt is between 15 and 30 trillion dollars Money is fine as long as its relative to something rather than just a notional number thing and not made exponential by the application of interest% Moving from the gold standard by the Americans, to fund the Vietnam war, started the problem with notional money , The French didnt like the idea but were out voted !! For sure there are problems but were pretty good at fixing those in the end

    oil!!!

If the sub continent of India, China, and Africa all start to use western levels of calories and follow the same exponential growth then ,it is highly likely that we will run out very very quickly- 1 million turns quickly to 1 Billion ,which in turn quickly turns to 1 trillion ,which......you get the picture

    oil!!!

It's not the running out of oil but the energy required to extract it once you use more energy to extract the oil than it can produce it is pointless. It's the everyday things like plastic and clothing that are the problem, there are as yet no substitutes, not in the required amount to satisfy demand, which is growing exponentially. 80% of the things in your house are oil derived. If say all clothing were made of wool, there is insufficient land mass fertile enough to grow grass to feed sheep to provide the wool to keep pace with population growth. Likewise wood, cotton, etc world consumption of just about everything is growing exponentially, but oil is the biggie New Energy will probably be the answer in some form or another Even hydrogen cells need things like Platinum and palladium and there is no endless supply of these.
