  1. "Whichever way you look at it, even £36k-37k a year is a decent salary." looking at it from a mortgage point of view - you are unmortgageable for any property in London ?
  2. Superb post Carlos, and shows the spin that is the modern press! -problem is the masses believe the spin and are losing the ability to think for themselves....
  3. You are looking at things the wrong way round : banks and money control governments , the people choose governments based on economic success and governments are temporary - it is money that controls . One factor in Iraq was the threat to price oil in Euros - that to the Bush administration was the straw - he had to go ! there have been and still are despots in charge of countries , yet they remain , no threat to the US dollar you see , so therefore benign. Money and politics!! It has never changed .. The troops on the ground seldom know what they are fighting for , that also is common during wars - one minute they are enemies the next allies , or vice versa - it's all a bit confusing
  4. Why do you think the plenum restricts flow ? In terms of pressure, velocity, flow and turbulence?
  5. "bankers? - what do they have to do with it." You cannot have a war without money, you cannot prepare for a war without money , the bankers have funded war since the begining of banking . they have been known to fund both sides in war , and add a clause that the "winners" will pay back the "losers" debt... Check out some history and see where the money came from in all wars , its quite enlightening and bizzarre ... The aftermath of war is debt and these debts shape the countries involved futures often leading to yet another war ,,,go figure! Are we always destined to repeat history , we should be smarter by now
  6. "Well that and the fact I don't like the idea of an auto, I like the involvement of a manual" I keep seeing these "involved" drivers behind me ,unable to keep up:innocent:
  7. How can we afford to give away £11.5bn Each year our deficit is £150 billion , this is not our debt , our debt exceeds £1 Trillion !!! these cuts over 4 years total £83 billion or £21 billion a year this wont pay off any debt at all , but lessen the increase in total debt growth!! So how do we pay the debt? when we cant even get rid of the annual deficit? well its supposed to be via growth , yeah right! the debt is unpayable ,so we play a game of pretend we will pay it , this will obviously be sussed in the end !! Its a good reason to have armed forces , for when we are sussed out The yanks debt is in the many trillions , but they have a bigger army !! we may even decide to just print off a load of money to pay our debts with, but then it turns into monopoly money. Thing is its China that is most likely to get had over , they have sussed us and are kicking back ! So the game is have a large army to keep things in check ,but a large army is totally unproductive and costs loads,so you borrow more !! Chinas army is proper big getting bigger , they want to join the game too, interesting times ahead !! China is very good at games , they just banned all exports of rare earth metals (they have something like 96% of them) but just about all new technology is driven by rare earth metals !!! If you want rare earth metals then set up a company in China is their perspective , they get the technology and supply the materials , well until they dont !! ,,,, So whats 11.5 billion? in the big game .... its only numbers:D
  8. Pop it into Dudes place for a remap = 190 ft lb torque in a car weighing 960kg NA supra is 209 FT LB as a comparrisson Any loot left and get a intercooler shoehorned in and up fuel and boost ,and take the cat out with a straight pipe welded in .... Result..... sleepless nights for you .....Fun for him!
  9. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2170905.htm too much for budget ? no details of service ie cam belt , but looks OK for the price
  10. Very cheap cars can end up costing lots ! I would highly reccomend a Seat Arosa 1.4 Turbo diesel ; the car is basically VW so has build and design quality just lower spec than the VW 60-65 mpg very low road tax group 2 insurance no rust issues and reliability issues cheap tyres they retain their resale value well not hooned about like the more fasionable small cars (kids) best bit is the engine a 3 cylinder 1.4 , this gives a large piston size and superb torque coupled with a turbo ,with very light weight the performance is amazing , not so much top speed (you dont really want this for Josh) but gets over 100mph , the accelleration is awesome ,a very few tweeks , remap, intercooler, injectors, and exhaust and they out perform the NA supra , up hills no contest !! (they can match the m3 for torque with money spent , Also not a plod magnet ! They are hard to find though ,but well worth it !!! for a run around or pocket rocket they take some beating ,not a great looker though, but a fun drive , gets bigger engined car owners thinking their car is broken:d
  11. 2 boost guages would indicate the problem but not fix it,cheap enough to do though . Symptoms indicate some sort of control issue with the vvti not sensing an engine load demand - what does the system use to sense load ? As you have had previous sensor issues are these all cleared, does the system read Speed signal for example as these seem to get corrupted with converters etc , if no fail codes shown it would be a false signal rather than a missing signal , such as a slipping speed pick up wheel or such. Then is the system reacting to to correct signals? If turbine or compressor knackered how do you make the power you have? If bearings why no noise?
  12. As chris has pointed out, how do you know that the fuel is atomising? The injectors are 5x bigger than stock , yet fitted to the same place ie the same distance to the intake valves. Don't injectors require moving further away to allow for atomisation ? Don't the F1 cars run diesel like pressures to aid the atomisation, due large amount of fuel needed? All sounds a bit American to me - bigger must be better.
  13. Hmmmm ... Beijing Olympics 1.3 million dollar firework display, London Olympics ... A couple of Bangers and a Catherine wheel . I could be wrong ..
  14. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=142450265411265667# scorchio.. LOL
  15. A simple nod of the head.........good morning A cupped hand to the mouth ........mines a pint A glance to a plate and slowly raised head or eyebrow......... you call that bloody breakfast Ronnie Barker was a master of this art ,,,,
  16. But we owned more of the world so have a greater entitlement ,depite their attempts to match us and we have more flowing gestures that Johnny should learn
  17. Tradition is that we just shout louder and use hand gestures when dealing with Johnny Foreigner:)

  19. How do you know what the vvti is doing , is the solenoid controlling oil pressure correctly . maybe not an mechanical issue but a control issue , perhaps a boost guage in the exhaust manifold and compare intake pressures with exhaust pressures would give a clearer picture of whats happening and explain the spool being slow Im Not really au fait with the vvti system to be of much help ,,,

    500bhp

You are moving from a 2ltr engine to a 3 ltr engine with about the same weight car , there is a large difference in torque !! you have been eating a bacon sandwich , first eat a steak then ask for more -see what I did there
  21. jagman

    500bhp

Why do people say they want 500 bhp having never driven a car with this power ? In the 80s you would of won le mans with this power !! The guy hasn't driven a stock car , and wants more? It's a bit " I want 10 steaks " how about eat just the one first? Then lots on here advise him where to go to order 10 steaks LOL
  22. Apparently Greece is skint !! they want you to reduce their budget deficit -just buy more cars or sell and buy back the same one over and over !
  23. Worth considering the wiring used regardless of what carlos fandango pump you select , the supply cable needs to be a quality cable due volts drop and the earth cable is often neglected ,everyone assumes that if bolted to the chassis all must be good - the cars are old and earth cables aint what they were new ! you could have high resistances at the main chassis earth ,worse varying resistances , now with the pump under load you get varying voltages and outputs , consider a separate earth wire back to battery or main earth -cheap as chips
