  1. You win!! The water system is linked with the oil system and the whole thermal stability of the engine , mess around with this and no street reliability at all ... Excess heat goes to water , once it's limit is reached , then on to oil , once it's limit is reached , on to the head and block , then things fail - sump temp is only relative to all the others and not a perfect source of data
  2. 3.4 will give you about 35 bhp more times the boost ratio if the engine is 100 % efficient . But you now increase the piston ring speed , and at higher boost , this is not good. You also increase the rod loading ,again at higher rpms , not good. You also increase the combustion temps at max torque , without provision for this again not good . You are buying more failure potential along with increase in power, but if you have the cash .....
  3. It's to do with velocity of the air , if an aerofoil shape has no or slow speed of air over it then it "stalls" - think aircraft trying to fly too slow . When the compressor produces boost pressure , but the air has low/no flow (throttle) is closed , then the compressor stalls . It's velocity .... Pressure, flow, velocity , and turbulence are all linked
  4. Great job , given your attention to detail , the switches in the armrest are a bit kit car , maybe some brushed stainless jobbies would be more in keeping with the high standards used through out - heavier switches have a nice feel to them too - easy to change as well , I think you can get them laser cut with the function in the switch to illuminate at night - I know its a bit "look Mr Angelo youve missed a bit"
  5. Loads of soarers always breaking they have ABS - use their parts , interchangeable AFAIK
  6. Pretty much all positives ,the one negative usually missed is that it cleans the combustion chamber and pistons , you would think that a good thing , except any carbon cleaned off promptly goes through your turbine , which is spinning at a very high rpm So your shiny new turbo isnt quite so new . New built or clean engine ,no worries it will stay that way , much the same is bolting on a big new turbo on an old unopened engine full of carbon ,then add a load of fuel , but none of us would do that, right !!
  7. Just buy 100 tickets with the same number , then you lessen the amount of having to share the winnings !!. no ...wait what if someone else also got 100?, hmm best play it safe and get 1000..
  8. Live a risk free life - don't eat! As supplied by Viz magazine! Kids don't take this seriously- extreme weightloss might occur.
  9. "Dear Sainsbury, Ive just eaten a tin of beans including the tin and have no teeth left , can I have a million pounds?" " fancy not having warnings and instructions on your tins" Yours sincerely the claimanator
  10. As an aid to choosing turbos , is there any data for comparrison regarding turbine maximum RPM s for each turbo system ? Which turbo runs the highest rpm and remains in balance ? And which turbo system has the greatest imbalance tolerance? If anyone knows the fastest speed available, please put a link to the company. Tiny turbos need not apply!- has any system got to 300,000 without exploding?
  11. I'm with Ian C on this one ,water meth ! Bigger isn't always better , I'm trying both pre and post compressor WI combined , the petrol stations always have water , cheap too!
  12. The 2 relays next to the intercooler with the blue spade connectors
  13. Nice work let down by crap halfords wiring -Lol
  14. Bloody I phones ! They don't work as you wish when you have fingers like pigs tits !- there is a limit to how many times I can type things- probably made in china !-LOL
  15. True , but as well as quality products they created a mindset of quality within their country and people only buy German products. The investing stretched to all aspects of infrstructure - schools, higher learning, roads, rail, factories , housing near factories etc. AND (this is relevent to the firemen) the ability through wages for the people to actually afford the products they made!,coupled with affordable housing Via a sustainable and controlled rental Market . Unlike UK there was no booms/ bubbles and debt slavery . The other trick company D has is control of Money. The Euro is a busted flush , they knew that when they joined , it's the control of money that runs the world , the far east does not have this , so they themselves are controlled. In Germanys case they will withdraw from the Euro in the end , they have a 40% export Market trapped in Europe to sell their quality products. Once the Germans leave the Euro , then the Euro collapses and the southern neighbours can become the new ( read old) cheap labour source to outsource elements of manufacturing. China/India despite dirt cheap labour in abundance still have to add transport costs , the rise in oil will negate any benefits in labour. Nothing involving money happens by chance A commie, what and have to live in a country , where the state owns all the banks, and people should live where the government says , kids have no job prospects , and the elite have duck houses and moats, and governments line their own pockets, and Strikes forbidden ,and millions dependent on handouts - no way , ...oh wait n, it's not oops we've by accident destroyed the worlds economy,it's more like we play pool on a table that is tilted, all the balls end up in one pocket, no matter how you play, how many play ,how many balls are used,or what rules you adopt - the balls always end up in the same pocket! China is good at games and they are trying to tilt the table back , expect a bunfight !!!
  16. Business D - is German based , invests in quality staff , pays them , and produces quality products finer than A/B/C - sales are good as quality is unmatched and due long life and reliability - this leads to more and advanced products , that ABC can no longer compete with and have some component parts outsourced but using the german standard s on quality and in a german owned factory using german management but cheaper labour . In tough times the outsourcing is withdrawn or used as leverage for trade deals - read protection .
  17. "I meant the actual 'International accounting standards' (IAC) the Chairman is British, as are many of the board and contributors. " Is that the same standards as used by Greece,Spain, ireland et al .....or indeed the UK banks in total - if so theres one guy to be sacked ! "Thatcher announced the switch from industry to service, but this was merely stating what was already happening. Labour in our industries starting demanding higher wages... I won't give you a history lesson as you seem educated." ---- (so let them have debt instead) I was there at the time ,and that is not the case ! - if you remove investment ,the you lose the lead, if you decide to import instead of nationally produce ,you ultimately end up with a huge deficit and debt -sound topical? If you also leave industry you cannot simply start again.and as labour costs rise in the countries that had cheap labour ,guess what? you pay more, you box yourself in ,as you have destroyed your own industry and any future developments in that industry. There was also the impact of north sea oil and gas and revenues ,with the hopeless predictions and use of that revenue . Everyone was going to become a self employed citizen --- result we now have a lot of Tanning studios and nail bars ! - lets tan ourselves out of this spot then Then the legacy of privatisation - trashed pension schemes, foreign ownership, more financial con tricks , the seeds were laid...
  18. "This smoke, mirrors and paper seem to have kept the benefit scroungers well fed" no thats a real product (food) made by a real economy "If it's only paper, then why does it matter? The wealth I refer to was in our industries, which are all but gone now, due in part to union intervention." Because the paper relates to labour and the numbers are held as debt to be paid in the future as future labour -not by the people who created the paper - and now is so corrupted it can never be paid by the amount of labour /and commodities that exist . if the wealth was in industry then who closed them? and moved to service and finance? industry provides things that people can use or be sold "We set the standard by which financial accounting is done in much of the world these days." Oh dear , you mean like the derivitive market,or MBS,or the pension funds and hedge funds - what do they produce? A invents a notional product ,which is sold to B for more ,and then to C for even more who then sells back to A , rinse and repeat ,and as long as A/B/C make a commission on each deal -result more paper with nothing to show thus corrupting some poor bastards labour ,whos actually does produce something - you now pronounce these traders as captains of industry? - crooks I call them and would hang them from lamposts ,by the balls . "We still produce among the best engineers in the world" -Along side a huge population who cant spell or tell you what a 1/3 of a 1/2 is ?
  19. "These same people have also seen us through some of the greatest financial prosperity the country has ever seen." Smoke and mirrors ,financial prosperity is only paper "I would argue that much of the real wealth of our country left because of greedy employees and their unions many years ago" Then where is this wealth ? why is the distribution on the countries wealth by any measure used- jammed into the top 5% of the population ? "the ingenuity of our population" has left them in the largest debts possible and reduced ability to make anything ,turning to the busted flush of finance and service . its not the ingenuity of the masses but the greed of the few We still turn out world class professionals in many fields- so why do we outsource so much and continue to grow in outsourcing ? That would never have happened with union input
  20. Wasnt the head of HSBC totally unqualified in Banking? These "singularly highly experienced and/or qualified individuals." caused the biggest collapse in economy since the beginning of time to the point of the whole system edging to the abyss. For the last year they have been selling shares off at unprecedented rates , licking the bowl clean , before they do the runner - All whilst the working man is left to take the pain , the very ones who in reality created the real wealth ,not paper and numbers ,smoke and mirrors - hows your pension doing ?
  21. "Got stuck in the snow last year in it, took me 6 hours to get home through what would normally be a 30min journey. Not something I want to repeat again. People were bumping into each other all around me, my petrol light was on, I was breathing out of my arse the whole time. The next day it snowed again around the time I finished work, so I walked 9 miles home." Makes you proud to be Britsh .LOL
  22. From the recent newspapers; Britain's bosses have been accused of ignoring economic reality after boardroom pay leapt by 55% over the last year. FTSE 100 directors saw their total earnings soar in the 12 months to June, thanks to sharp rises in bonuses and performance-related pay. The average FTSE 100 chief executive now earns £4.9m a year, or almost 200 times the average wage. Unions reacted angrily to the report today. "Don't they know that this is meant to be austerity Britain?" said TUC general secretary Brendan Barber. "These mega-pay rises blow away any claim that we are all in this together. While the poor and those on middle incomes lose out from cuts and pay squeezes, top directors continue to take home telephone number salaries without being overly troubled by tax," Barber added. He called on shareholders and the government to get a tighter grip on executive pay, at a time when ordinary workers have seen their pay kept in check by the economic downturn. Incomes Data Services said bonuses paid to directors of FTSE 100 companies increased by 34%, while basic pay rose by 3.6%. The amount of money waiting to be disgorged from long-term incentive schemes soared by 73%, to a total of £259m, and share option gains leapt by 90%. The FTSE 100 rose by less than a fifth over the same period. ------------------------------------------------------------- The Unity is simply flooding out !! I could shoot down all your points ,but kindly suggest you read a bit more .
  23. No wonder they have better reliability than most cars -no one uses them -LOL People will start calling them hedgehogs !!
  24. No matter how good the crank, its only as good as the bearings , the bearings and their strength against detonation , then the det itself . Plus oiling You can break the finest crank , or preserve the poorest (to a degree) RPMS,load, bearings, oil ,det, fatigue cycle - its all a bit Clint -"do you feel lucky?"
  25. Slightly higher costs in Londinium methinks! They cant choose to live elsewhere , and rentals are also high priced , so subsidised housing ? -the very thing the government wants to cut ? we are entering an era of strikes , and I suspect the final nail in the Unions coffin - this saddens me given the huge efforts by my parents and grandparents to give the working man the right to withdraw labour, without going to the poorhouse . many it seems have no knowledge of what existed beforehand are suggesting removing the right or using negotiation -get real !! Its become illegal to strike in many cases now , and I guess many people have not seen the state of modern contracts of employment ,almost victorian and certainly draconian , a trend to part time jobs with little or no protection at all . If working people do not support working people ,then we are truly lost .....You will reap the whirlwind Tory supporters are now joining the unions apace , given the public sector cuts , as they now face the chop ..oh the irony !!
