  1. The audacity to expect public support by these selfish buffoons is baffling. Hope the Govt bans such strike action, they really need to grow some ..... In fact there have been moves , using the high court , to make strikes illegal . Expect many more strikes across the board . People will always blame strikers , an easy target , it's always the Firemen,Binmen,Railmen, etc , These are just working people using the only tool they have ( which is blunted year on year). Look to the money ! Always look where and to whom the money has gone ! Look at the pension funds , where did the money go? If ranting and blame is needed , pick on the correct people , it is not the 10s of thousands of working people . The next couple of years will be revealing as more people actually care about what happened to the money , a picture of greed ,mismanagement will appear - Food and Energy will continue to rocket , inflation will bite hard , just what are people expected to do ? Many do not see where we are going - and the younger generation have known nothing but boom times ! Soon there will be no unions , then who do you blame?
  2. You should read some recent history before forming an opinion , much of the system is non union and labour on contract terms using agency workers , many British owned areas are now foreign owned , the unions fought and lost against privatisation , the rail system , with separate providers for , track, rollingstock, and rail companies now cost 5 billion pounds a year from tax payers !! Fare structures are a mess, peak time travel a mess , rural travel a mess ... This was not created by unions and the money over the years not vanished into union coffers ! Cheap efficient transport for the masses , has gone and a future system of cheap mass transport unlikely . Despite modern computing systems , there is fact leaves on the track...
  3. There is a small hole in the stat , in the hole is a tiny bit of metal with a tiny ball or a tiny valve. AKA "jiggle pin" these allow air to pass through the stat if closed(cold) and aid bleeding air from the system , a type of self bleed system . Often wrong stats are fitted and air is very tricky to bleed out You end up chasing round in circles finding airlocks ...
  4. You fitted a new stat , is it correct ? does it have a jiggle pin? Dealers get things wrong sometimes !
  5. Its privatisation you know , to make things efficient , what you see is efficiency !! It reduces the burden of the tax payer who subsidise the losses made by the rail companies ,odd , but it also encourages competition ,so one company supplies all the different rail companies with rolling stock , no wait , let me think erm ...it makes fares less , 4000 a year you say ,oh er , lets just sell it to the French , no thats the electricity , well whatever the reason we invented it ...
  6. looks to have a kit on it , probably cost over the asking price ! the EMV has translated buttons fitted and levoc brake lever point to a previous owner who cared , does it have the Nakamichi sound system too ?
  7. China made stuff is improving all the time , they do learn !! companies like Boeing are outsourcing more each year , this leads to better QC control systems and support manufacture for a whole host of areas , once a factory turns out one product and has the facility up to spec they then turn to other products of the back of the main items They then price out the existing western manufacturers and swamp the world ,as so many people want cheap they win ....
  8. I think it's very sad, and very telling how the media have "forgotten" the Japanese, The Japanese "forgot" their own history for long enough!! A caring and sharing race I think not !!
  9. For springs, shocks, brake lines , etc use Dinitrol -AV8 (SPRAY CAN) , for floors and chassis use POR15 - metal prep then top coat -box sections; metal prep then AV8 Both products dont come off clothing and take 3 or 4 days to get off your hands and hair - gloves ,overalls and and old hat/cap !!!
  10. Fitting any larger or more powerful fuel pumps is very likely to overload the stock wiring , the supply fuse is 30 amp , this then feeds the EFI relay and on to the fuel pump ECU then on to the pump (stock system) adding a much larger load such as 2 pumps to the stock old wiring is likely to fail quickly , you could easy be drawing 40 amps on pump start on cables rated far under this , and have many connections to cause volts drops , these will heat and increase resistance ,thus increasing volts drop over time The result is the pumps drawing far too much current , low life for the pumps and ever degrading wiring and EFI relay The relay shoud not be running at it full rating the contacts will degrade fast ,it needs a bigger relay ,the FP ecu was not designed for increased current it too needs bypassing , cables should be circa 6 guage cables and high quality (low volts drop) , it should be through a separate cable from Battery(fused) to new relay , and direct to pump(s) Given the large amount spent of engines ,tuning ,etc , seems daft to risk it all for a few quids worth of cable and a relay
  11. That sounds like pumps rather than hot fuel, or pump connections and wires , may pay to either measure the volts drop or current flow to the pumps and the pressure
  12. If the fuel filter is getting near "too hot to touch" then the loss of density in fuel could be as high as 7% , compared with cold fuel . the rising tank fuel temp could also effect the pumps -the hotter they get the more power they use , the more power they use the hotter they get type circle - but this would not alter flow that much . AFR would alter by 0.92 @ 14;1 given a 7% density change , how much is the AFR varying?
  13. 500 quid , all running , fresh oil , good turbos , just reverse gear gone and I have other soarers so cant be arsed fitting gearbox , so parked up as spares
  14. try a in line non return valve in the fuel line and bleed very well
  15. I've got a donor complete car if anyone wants , good engine/ turbos
  16. Just had the insurance quote = £86.00 for the year , I think I can get a discount if I join a club. It's not fast , it handles like a dinghy ,but you do arrive in style !!! No road tax - rocks!!
  17. You can use the low oil pressure switch as an engine running logic to supply a relay and also fit a fuel low pressure switch again to the relay . The relay then removes power to the fuel pumps . Ie engine running (oil pressure) and fuel leak (low pressure) the pumps are switched off
  18. One solution would be fuel temp controlled output , ie as fuel temp rises the pump output also rises ,controlled by voltage . voltage step up unit circa 100 pounds , temp sensor a few quid and control loop circuit a few quid This would need calibration to compenate for density loss , so start and max fuel temps needed and pump flows at various voltages over 12 v to say 18volts or simply have 2 stages less accurate but would work a la stock car but higher output Or just cool the fuel return under car and if pipe rupture is a worry fit an in line fuse
  19. Jaguar V12 s had vapour lock/start issues due hot fuel/engine so they fitted an in line cooler in the engine bay using the air con as an exchanger I have used before a seat diesel fuel cooler on the return line they fit under car and are compact rising fuel temp will alter the mass flow of fuel downwards as specific gravity alters , most heat would come from the pressure rise of fuel and be returned to tank . If you know the tank temp you could calc the mass flow drop , but it would not be that great I suspect
  20. Nice cars , oddly Ive just purchased a P5b coupe , because I ve always wanted one , probably not the best reason to buy a car !!!
  21. It's quite hard to actually heat the fuel from hot pumps ; they are moving lots of 'cool' fuel per hour , fuel pressure heats the fuel but this is usually diesel type pressure . Pump current draw is high with large pumps and low voltages , this can heat the pumps and cause issues , there are some step up voltage units I believe that reduce current thru pump windings ie double the voltage , half the current for the same power . Long or heavy duty cables also drop voltage on load , this increases current draw by pumps , thin high quality cables help here .

http://www.ststurbo.com/bolt_on_turbo_systems Perhaps worth considering the above as a simple bolt on solution , no intercooler required and given your requirements for power relatively cheap solution
  23. I'm interested in the head , I need one to send for modification , please pm me your price
  24. Most "sports" wear are not ever used in sports ,so revert to the old t1ts and @rse to sell and a message that you a somehow inadequate without these undoubtedly made in China products
  25. Well its a simple concept ! easy to start , and 24 hour opening allows for maximum useage ,everyone forgets shift workers!! old oil can be used for heating ,most garages charge for oil disposal ! a mechanic on hand for those who are worried that they will cock up also helps , bulk oil purchase reduces cost, lots depend on the quantity of cars in the area , if the middle of a small farming community ,simply would not work !
