  1. Thanks guys, thats the same advise my father and my girlfriends dad is giving me which sounds like the route i am swaying towards at the moment. The single i will be running is T61PHR kit (.68) and would of liked to run atleast 1.2bar which this brand new kit Im sure this will be alot quicker then the hybrids but i was able to change boost from 1.1,1.2,1.3,1.4, and only having 1 bar boost now i feel like im a limiting myself after doing all this work to the car...( since it been in the garages it had full service, cambelt change filters, oils, RLTC fitted, allignment, engine oil cooler, trans oil cooler, bigger injectors few other bits cant remember off the top of my head ) Its just a little annoying to get this work done and not to be where you want even after putting alot of money into her
  2. Hi Tom I bought the supra from a private seller and he didnt use any forums really so the car is slightly unknown. It was stunning when i bought it never smoked looked a very gd example until a 2 weeks later when i got the confidence to turn the boost to 1.4 and it goes bang Do you think i am worring about this compression test too much? it was done COLD which i thought was inaccurate. I wont be tracking the car it will just be a toy at the weekend use and sunny days and may once or twice take a trip to Nburg ring but thats it so i wont thrashing it about. Thanks for your advise Keep it coming Sam
  3. Thank you Kranz for your advise much appreciated. I have just rang JPS they will ring me back and give me the leakdown figures very soon and will post then, also i have aksed for them to do test with th oil over the bores. Unfortunately I not a very good with my spanner so doing it myself i think is out the question. Its just i bought my car for 14.5k and for the hybrids to blow a week after purchase and the car since has been at a garage getting fixed for month now its driving me mad! im just so unsure what to do as ive poured alot of money into her after purchase. Will apdate as soon as i get more info Cheers Guys Sam
  4. Thanks for your advise ricky i will ask them today if they can do that oil test on the bores. What does that difference indicate to you? Im still very unsure what to do next guys so any more advise would be great Thanks Sam
  5. Hi guys Sorry for another compression test question but im still unsure after searching through threads i couldnt find my answer. So.. i am currently in the middle of single conversion after my hybrids blowing , to keep it brief i asked JPS to do a compression test to see how the engine was after the hybrids going and i got the figures 1:170 2:150 3:170 4:155 5:170 6:170 Is this compression safe to run with my new single build(T61)? Go easy as i dont really know much about internals and these types of testing JPS said if i left it and just bolted all the car back together he suggested not to run it above 1bar? i would like to have atleast 1.2 with this new kit ? BUT this was a cold test which i thought is inaccurate?(JPS said the difference would be minimal around 5% if was warm) They have done a leakdown test but i forgot to get the figures will ask tomorrow and post. Now my question is or advise please would be where do i go next ? I was told by JPS that the low compression on 2 + 4 is due to the rings he thinks. So from this test (done yesterday) should i tell them to take it apart and put new rings in and see how she is inside which is very exspenisve and could never end ? or like i said ealier get her back together and mapped to 1bar and leave it? Sorry for the long questions but i would much appreciate any advise Cheers guys Sam

  9. Hi Guys I was just wondering as i will be getting my SupraTT in the next few days(Dream come true ) where abouts in hertfordshire anyone could recommend getting it fitted? i have tried JPS Motorsport and they are quoting me £800-850 supplied and fitted, is that gd price? i see them on the RLTC site for £565ish but as its an auto i wont be needing launch control. 12. the boostlogic box, is that very sterdy reliable box if treated well?
  13. Thanks very much guys, well that doesnt sound to bad, i will speak to them nearer the time i think maybe i was expecting more so thats seems gd to me
  14. May i ask how much your boostlogic auto box and hi stall convertor cost? and to fit it?
  15. Also guys as i will have to get an auto, Whats your opinions on Auto vs Tiptronic, i have read lil ifno on that the tip can lil harder to tune? or am i worng... Sam
  16. I did think buying a nice tidy single straight away would save me alot of money time n stress with converting when im ready, although doing it that would be more safer and sensible so i could get used to the power, but when i start looking i think that will be a good idea to ride in a stock, bpu and single to see. Imi i'd love to have a passenger ride yea i could come over , if we set date or a time that suits you, i have few things on this week and next but after that im free Cheers Sam
  17. Sorry guys for not getting back sooner, thankyou for all your responses and opinions all helps right in answer to your questions supra_pig 1)21 2)male 3) auto because of a below knee amputation 4) wouldnt mind slight modded exterior, spats , nice lil skirts n bumper 5) current car - Starlet Glanza 140-150bhp and yea maybe i could come for a little passenger drive, i live nearer heathrow but not far really i could come down to stansted way? Say i did get a bpu supra then wanted to go single is it better to go for tranny cooler or upgrade to boostlogic autobox? or is that not worth it unless i want silly bhp?
  18. Yea i agree there thats the last thing i want to do ... i think i wud cry well thats definatly answered my question i will eventually go single. It looks like i shud go for the stock or half bpu sup and then gradually upgrade to single. I will evetually wanna take it to strip or santapod but it will mostly be some daily drives, weekend use, i mite even keep my glanza for commuting. But yea i cant agree more with how the supra can easily go sideways in wrong hands and i have thought about it alot.
  19. Yea i see where your comming from Tbourner but i love supras, plus their automatic and i have looked for last year at what cars are availiable in auto that are reliable before and after tuned and i fell in love supras their looks, speed and sound. There not much to compare once u've looked at supra
  20. Thanks again for advise guys, Much appreciated, any info is better then none
  21. By the way Stunning Supra Gaz, that does sound like a sensible option, making from stock to BPU or upto around 500-550 , what sort of budget am i looking at? i kno prices can be endless but a rough estimate i could work around. say i bought nice n tidy stock TT for 6-8k then would 10k on upgrades when needed would that be sufficient for mods and power im looking for?
  22. after having a turbo now i dont fink i could go without one, i need that sound
  23. In terms of acceleration i would like sumwhere in region of 4sec of under 0-60 ?
  24. ok thanks for opinionsguys it maybe an idea to get a nice bpu sup to start with for 8-10k and with the rest of the budget , when im ready to upgrade to a single. Seems to be a majority vote for single then reading from other threads TT upgrade seems very exspenive. Is the boostlogic gearbox very exspensive?
  25. sorry guys will use proper english
