  1. Hi everyone, got plans that day do won't beable to make this one:( Hope to meet up with everyone at the Japfest though. Cheers Kieran.
  2. I did an airfield day at Colerne at the weekend. Couple of days before I got all my wheels rebalanced as I have for a while had a bit of steering shake around 75mph. Anyway when I got to the track, first lap was fine, second lap I got some steering wheel shaking under braking, and third lap was not nice at all:(. I ended up spending the day doing about 3 - 4 laps at a time and then leaving the car for 20 mins to cool down. Any suggestions what could be going on here? I'm running 17inch wheels, on stock UK Brakes. I have Nylon Spigot Rings fitted. Another thing that might be worth mentioning is I have had an o/s front knocking when going over bumps which has been checked by 2 different garages with nothing apparent found. Sub Frame bolts maybe? Incidently on the way home from Colerne anything above 60mph didn't feel too good either!!
  3. Certainly was a 'Mini' meet this time, but still great to see everyone. I thought the venue was OK too even though the car park was a squeeze, but the strange pylon crackling did seem to keep the rain off:) As long as I don't kill the car on Saturday at Colerne, I'll hope to see you all next month. Cheers Kieran.
  4. Glad you didn't go for it in the end, just looking at the pics it didn't look great. I did clock the wheels but thought they may of just been a dirty, obviously not the case!!! Good luck with your continued hunt.
  5. It was a UK truck. When I eventually did go by he didn't even look over, reckon he never knew it even happened!!!! I agree lessons learned from the experience. I don't think anyone is to blame, just a set of unfortunante circumstances, still sh!t me right up though... Had to tuck the car straight up in the garage when I got home, didn't want the my wife to know what had happened, and worry her!! She did ask why I was so keen to get my polishing cloth out:d.
  6. Yeh mate, I know what you mean and under normal conditions I would do this. The scenario was only different as we were all joining the motorway. Strangley though he never did pass the Transporter he just pull back over almost striaight away. Yep should be at Chippenham tommorrow.
  7. Cheers Mate, it was one of those moments when you thinking do I nail it and try and get past or Brake. Based on the outcome I made the right decision...
  8. The one in front was a Car Transporter. His HGV was just White and unbranded!! It's just one of those things I haven't thought about before obviously everyone will overtake a lot of trucks whilst driving. Trouble is it's making real nervous now when going past them, sure it'll pass in time!!!
  9. Was out in the Supra last weekend, coming down the slip road onto the M4 from the old Severn Bridge. I have 2 HGV's in front on me and we're all indicating to join the motorway. This section of the motorway is actually 2 lanes so as I join it I decide to continue out into the outside lane to overtake both HGV's as they attempt to gain speed. I get about half way down the side of the first HGV when he decides he wants to overtake the other HGV so heads over to my lane. The result of this is I slam my brakes full on (doing about 60mph), ending up having to put half the car on the gavel part just before the central reservation just so I can avoid him, vegitation and stones being thrown everywhere and the car at one point having about half a foot on each side spare!!! Brown Pant time was an understatement but luckily all was OK and other than having to pull over to pick plants out of my rad and a bit of a polish on my bumper, you'd never know it happened. So my question to you, was I doing anything wrong here? I thought HGV's aren't allowed in the outside lane or is this not applicable as this part of the motorway was 2 lanes?
  10. This same thing happen to my mates Daughter. There was 5 on them heading to the airport on M25, and a left hooker lorry changed lanes clipping her at the back and spinning her on to the front of his truck. By the time they came to a stand still 3 of her tyres had come clean off the rims!! Not a good experience!
  11. Assessing people and their cars is alway so difficult. Couple of points I notice from looking at the pictures. 1) If she loved the car so much and didn't want to take it out why was she happy to let the carpets get like that? 2) My GZ has done 110k and my driver seats looks brand new compared to that, my should be twice as worn!!! 3) Not sure if it's the light but is that a new Rear Bumper? Not sure what everyone else is like but you could almost eat your dinner off the inside and outside of my Supra and when I was looking for my car I wanted the car and the owner to be just as obssesive as me. Sorry mate the car looks great but just wanted to give you my viewpoint.
  12. Hi All, Should be able to make this one OK. See you all there:)
  13. Hi Guys, Great to see everyone today, and it didn't even rain!!! Looking forward to the next one. Looks like I need to save my pennies to go BPU now then:d!! Cheers Kieran.
  14. While we're talking 2 for a £10 anyone looking for the other half of a £10 tommorrow, let me know. See you all there as long as my brakes don't start leaking:Pling:
  15. That's true about the Cerbera. Certainly didn't have any side impact protection in the Griffith. Just a couple of centremeters of FibreGlass!!! I guess there was a bit from the Chassis and the fact your sat pretty low within it, but nothing to write home about. The Griffiths do pretty well in frontal impacts but hit one up the arse and you're straight into the Fuel Tank :-0
  16. I had a Griffth 500 (see my profile) before the Supra. Absolutely loved it to bits, stupidly fast, and put a smile on my face everytime I drove it. Did look at Cerberas too at the time. Drove a couple and to be honest because of the shape of the windscreen it feel like you were driving a letterbox!!!! Anyway the Griff had the trusty Rover V8 so no problems there either. Now I've got the Supra though, I'd never go back. The Supra is so well put together compared to the TVR, it actually feels like you might live if you hit something in it!!!!
  17. Mind you if they had to pay to come out they might think twice about coming at all !!
  18. Doh, Sorry added a pic then reread the thread, don't know how to delete now:)
  19. If you don't go along to these things you never get to meet new people!! It's been really great to meet some fellow Supra owners, all a really good bunch too, just have to remember who everyone is!!! . Lee I'm in Bristol, not sure if you go past my way, I'm right on the M5/M5 Interchange. Happy to meet up on the way over if you fancy it. I am getting some upgrades done on my brakes this Friday so it'll be the first time I use them on the run over so maybe a little on the cautious side!!
  20. I bought a set of these a few months back. Also had one of the large rings pop out a couple of days after fitting. Bit of pen adjustment and all has been great since:). I did have loads of problems with the Clock one though, not sure if I was just unlucky but ended up having to cut part of the lip off so it would fit!!! They look nice though.
  21. Hi Guys, Happy New Year:) Yep I'll be there. See you all then. Cheers.
  22. It does have a silver shield round it!!! I'm guessing that means the shifter one is place but not working. Do you know if it is the same type of bulb?
  23. Been fitting a new stereo today so had to remove the dash to get at the old one!!! Anyway when I removed the Centre Consol I found the lamp that lights the shifter just floating around. Could anyone tell me where abouts on the shifter it plugs in? I'm guessing it's on the right somewhere but a quick look with a torch didn't show anything obvious. I also managed to blow the little bulb, so wondered where's best to get a replacement? Cheers.
  24. Yeh, well basically because of all the work that was being done, it pretty much the cost me the car again[sAD][/sAD]. Mainly because the Head Gasket went about 1000 Miles after I bought the car. This turned out to also include a warped head (previous water pump failure so it turns out!!!), great... so by the time the engine was stripped down to this point I decided they might as well replace everything! Still on a the plus side I've now got an engine that's sort of only done 1800 Miles!!!
  25. Cheers Jackso11, the bay was pretty much like this when I bought the car, cleanest stock bay I'd seen at the time. I had the rest of the bay cleaned as well whilst the engine was out. Not sure if that makes me some sort of anorak but hey what the hell...
