  1. I agree with what you are saying, but the issue I'm worried about is because this technology is obviously getting cheaper and cheaper to manufacture, more and more insurance companies will look into them as it means not only can they find your car if you have it nicked but also if you smash it, they can choose not to pay up by instantly accessing the data taken from the car at the point of an acccident. Just see this could be a great way for insurance companies to save money on payouts so a no brainer for them!!!!!!
  2. A guy at work has just insured his car for his son to drive. Part of the agreement is that the company fit a tracker device that: 1) tracks the vehicle if it gets stolen 2) monitors that you keep within your mileage restriction, i.e 6k and 3) accesses your driving habbits so if you're a good driver, it'll help your premium next renewal. Now this is the first I've heard of this sort of thing and I don't know if this is focused specifically at young drivers but if not what if all insurance companies adopted this approach:blink: We all like to put our foot down on occasion to fully appreciate the road we're driving on, but if this sort of thing got rolled out to all insurance companies, it would certainly impact those with cars like ours!!

  4. Count me in too, though only had 1 chance to play since Monday, (I'll be the Back Marker!!) optim8 (optim8)
  5. I've got a stock TT. Did a trackday as it was and brakes were a nightmare!!! Got UK Brakes so changed discs and added Braided Lines, CW Pads and Race Spec Fluid, that sorted that problem. Next trackday I did, no worries in a striaght line, but come to the bends and everyone is on top of you, car felt like a boat. So got a set on HSD Coilovers on order which will hopefully sort my problems. To be honest though I'm tempted by BPU but no point having all that extra power if you can't stop or go round the corners!!!
  6. I've just bought my copy this afternoon, so will give it a blast tonight. Actually been playing NFT Shift for the last 6 months and really love that. Hope GT5 is at least up to it from an enjoyment factor....

    HSD group buy

Just spotted this post, I'm interested in a set of these. What price are they currently? Sorry we are talking http://www.driftworks.com/shop/suspension-1/toyota-suspension/hsd-hr-coilovers-for-toyota-supra-jza80-mk4.html Haven't been involved in a group buy before. What do I do ring them up and leave a deposit?

    Wheely Lucky

I've got 2mm tops between my wheels and UK calipers and done almost 2,000 miles and 2 trackdays and no sign of any scuffing so far. I used to have a 3mm spacer but it was causing me no end steering wheel wobble, I drove my first 100miles checking for scuffs everytime I stopped and since then all good.
  10. Cheers Steve. I actually quite like the Black, might go for that..
  11. Wow, that looks really good, gives me something to aim towards:) When did you get the front grills from? Really like how they look. Would love one of those sub housings too...
  12. No worries, cheers for the tip Ark. Seeing as I'm completely Stock TT (for now;)) I'll go with the 97. My local Tescos is never on my way anywhere so not having to worry about getting 99 will save me a load of time traveling to get it.
  13. So does that mean you run your on 95 assuming the chances are it'll be 97?
  14. An reason you only go V-Power? There is a Shell nearish to me, I use to put Optimax in when I had my TVR, not sure how that compares to V-Power?
  15. Just a quick question, I've alway run mine on the Tesco 99 ron, but during my Scotland trip a few weeks ago and subsequent trip through Wales, I ended up putting standard Super unleaded and even half a tank of Regular (only garage in the back of beyond!!). To be honest the car's ran sweet as a nut what ever I put in it, so just wondering what everyone else runs with? Thinking may be just stick with the Super and save a few quid.
  16. What's going on where's everyone gone!!! I'm taking my girls to Durham Park in the morning, but thinking I'll head over towards the Mill for Lunch, prob getting there 1:30 - 2 ish. If anyones coming, should see you there, if not, see you all next time...
  17. Would you credit it, my wife has a First Aid course on 18th so I've got to look after my children. One of my girls may have a party to go to, but if not I'll see if I can talk them into coming along (use the buy them lunch bit )

    insurance.

Thirded - Really nice guys, I'm restricted to 5k also.
  19. I've got UK Brake setup on mine. Brakes were rubbish when I got the car. Went for new Stock Discs, CW Pads, Braided Hoses and RBF600 fluid. Just done 2 consecutive trackdays this week and brakes were spot on!!!! I think I came in under £500 in the end.
  20. Talking of which we must be due a meet up? It's been 3 months!!!!
  21. Yeah, poor guy forgot his lid, it was my day off so I lent him mine!
  22. Cheers j_jza80 as soon as I have some cash together I'll be on the Phone to Chris to see what he recommends suspension wise. Here's a couple of photos from both Croft and Knockhill. CROFT http://www.testpilot.co.uk/supra/Croft1.jpg http://www.testpilot.co.uk/supra/Croft2.jpg KNOCKHILL http://www.testpilot.co.uk/supra/Knockhill1.jpg http://www.testpilot.co.uk/supra/Knockhill2.jpg
  23. Hey Geo, you'll absolutely love it mate, and cause it's so high up the views of the landscape around are spot on. I booked both days through Bookatrack.com and they really set the events up well, both open pit lane and numbers meant you could pretty much drive straight on when ever you wanted... I'll post a couple of pics up in the next couple of days.
  24. I'm just back from a mamouth run from Bristol to trackdays at Croft then Knockhill and all the way back down through North Wales. The Supra didn't miss a beat the whole route! Now there can't be many 16 year old cars out there that could acheive this!! Hats off to Toyota for making a bloody fantastic motor. Only thing I think I need to do is change my stock suspension as it was pretty boaty on the bends!! Croft was an excellent with an interesting mix of straights and twistys. Knockhill was something else, absolutely crazy with all it's rises and dips, you seriously need some nerve to get around it, specially the right hand dropoff at the end of the start/end straight!!![sHOCK][/sHOCK] We also drove some fantastic roads on the way up and back. If anyone is interested this is the route we took. Highly recomended. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=BS1+1AA&daddr=YO22+5EN+to:TS18+3RT+to:DL2+2PL+to:NE66+4HU+to:EH21+8PT+to:KY12+9TF+to:LA4+4DL+to:LL20+8DP+to:LL21+9HW+to:LL41+4RB+to:SY20+8BQ+to:SY18+6HN+to:SY25+6JL+to:LD5+4UU+to:CF48+2HW+to:NP7+0BU+to:NP15+1RY+to:NP16+6BU+to:BS1+1AA&hl=en&geocode=FX8jEQMdq1jY_yltqTE2tI1xSDECV3R5af55XA%3BFfbPPgMdUNj1_ykjx9bSbhh_SDGGeRTCd7OLfw%3BFTdMQAMd66jr_ykxIFXapZN-SDG--meYMRf2yw%3BFZ70PgMdKVno_ymdGbBQ5Zh-SDFYcDU7qR21iA%3BFVoITgMdduXi_ykhk6vW6Ph9SDHCOGyhbWwDVQ%3BFZxjVQMd-6PR_ymFjgpGwbuHSDGHj30imtfSJw%3BFT9_WAMdAnXK_ylLNVP9F9OHSDGBiYQJTMIHCA%3BFY0AOQMdGxrU_ymrIVEuFJ58SDE27CksmI6AaQ%3BFTvnKAMdD_nO_ymRqkjBfMp6SDFstlIuqIxraA%3BFZRKKAMd74jO_ymFsukHPbV6SDE-7xwuwXxykw%3BFSHNJwMdgc3D_ylDDuUc_3JlSDFkhZ3QXSCx3w%3BFWqAIgMd7y_F_ynDsFgGLIZvSDGAC_n-39DS0Q%3BFT9YIAMdf_rJ_ylVwbJEx-1vSDHsKXAachdOZA%3BFQ_PHAMdu_vD_yk7gHjDMKFvSDF3f5UW4D9dbA%3BFWG7GwMd02bJ_yljabXE98dvSDEITDwtjN-1Iw%3BFerdFQMdVvrL_yn738sSNDpuSDGpgyw0kqUNeA%3BFTbAFgMdorXQ_yk1hPbckddxSDHunvo2VUWkuw%3BFdnwFAMdDLHT_ykjtAdGOsNxSDFMTwmyTZGwvQ%3BFcwNFAMdS__V_ymJSzCdhOpxSDF_HC77Ed_2NA%3BFX8jEQMdq1jY_yltqTE2tI1xSDECV3R5af55XA&mra=ls&sll=53.87844,-1.636963&sspn=2.648868,6.987305&ie=UTF8&z=6
  25. That a good price for a trackday Nevins, I'll see how the car fairs next week and let you know. I've got a mate who may be up for it as well, but he's got a Z4M, wait and see how the Club spaces go I guess. Cheers.
