  1. Yeah, it had the walnut dash in when I bought it, once you get used to it it’s quite nice, god I’m sounding old!!
  2. Yes, all is well thanks Bobbeh. I'm just not driving the soop as much as I'd like so it seems like it's time for a change. I'll probably regret selling her but for now it seems like the sensible thing to do.
  3. Sadly the time has come to sell my Soop: 1993 j-spec TT GZ Auto 83,000 miles. MOT 02/07, taxed until end 07/07. Only 2 former keepers since the vehicle was imported in 1998. 18” Alloys, Eagle F1s all round with plenty of tread left on them. Blitz Nur-Spec R exhaust system with double de-cat (I still have both the original cats). UK-Spec front brakes. Racelogic traction control with slip adjuster (And launch control but not much use on an auto). Blitz SBC-iD III boost controller and TRL FCD. All the electrics fully functional including the climate control and aircon. Sigma cat 1 immobiliser and alarm with remote central locking, I have the installation certificate too. The cam belt was changed at 62,147 miles and the valve stem seals have also been recently replaced so no large service bills in the near future, I have receipts for both these items, I’ve also got all the old MOT certificates. I’m looking for around £7,500 any sensible offers will be considered. Thanks for looking, Richard.
  4. LMFAO Jake - yeah it is a bit like that. I guess it's because it is free and there's no commercial backing to most of the software. Suppose the person who wrote the software in their spare time just can't be bothered to answer all those support questions. Still I use it and find it very good.
  5. This is quite good for producing the DDV files, you still need something like Nero to do the final burn though: http://www.digital-digest.com/software/download.php?sid=424&ssid=0&did=1
  6. Dump Windows, install Linux and use ffmpeg and dvdauthor! Seriously though, check this out, I've used it befoere for encoding the MPEG stream with very good resaults - you still need to convert to DVD VOB form, Nero (as mentioned before) will do this for you - I found the output quality better if I use TMPGEnc to generate the source MPEG file first. http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html
  7. Yeah, Jamie said it was you car, shame I'm not about this weekend, would have poped round as well to drink tea and make useless comments. Hope you get it sorted quickly!
  8. Is it possible to start an auto MkIV with a failed starter motor, I guess you can't bump start them even by putting them in gear. Any suggestions would be welcomed! Thanks, Richard
  9. Thanks everyone! RedM - the missus was the first thing to be eliminated when the problem started Well the fan is ok, I'll pull the power to the radio/amp next and see what happens.
  10. I have a strange whine coming from my car! I am pretty convinces that it’s not the turbos. The noise, best described as a whine I think, has a lower pitch than the turbos (I can still hear the turbos and they sound fine). The whine only occurs above about 3000 rpm, it doesn’t matter which gear I’m in (even neutral!) and the load or boost levels don’t seem to make any difference either, although the pitch does seem related to engine rpm. Now the strange thing is that I can barely hear the noise when I listen under the bonnet but it’s quite loud when sitting in the car, it sounds like it’s coming from behind the dash so I suspect maybe it’s something that’s bolted to the firewall? I’ve been around and checked the hoses; all fluid levels are fine etc. I should point out that I have switched off the blower, A/C, etc. The car drives fine apart from this, I just can’t think what might be making such a noise when I can’t hear it from under the bonnet. Any suggestions would be welcome? Thanks, Richard
  11. Sh*t I only just remembered about this, I'll try and be there. Hope I don't screw up the table booking, I could just sit in the corner and be quiet. 1.Heckler+1+ Another! 2.Secondjump+Vic 3.DamanC 4.lambertpig 5.Soop Dogg 6 Angie (You're in trouble now, Si!!!) 7 / 8.Digsy + Sarah 9.Ouch Got Me 10. Stolichnya 11. Gordon F (hopefully - will confirm) 12. lee s__________________ 13. richardharmon
  12. I saw that red Soop too, just forgot to post it up!
  13. It was me. I didn't recognise your car, as it's been a while since I've seen it (lack of Cambridge area meets I guess)
  14. I paid £300 for a new one so they are not cheap! If anyone does go and buy one from Mr T then be aware that for some strange reason the rad is nearly £80 cheaper *with* the dryer and accompanying pipe work!
