  1. Picture 2 - beautiful shape that motor. I have no spoiler either :-) Rob Soapbox alert! PLEASE PLEASE dont get any of these nasty bit of plastic glued to your lovely machine - in my opinion keep the lovely lovely lines clean and pure. Would definitely suggest some nice tasteful rims - accommodating some wider rubber. Then it's onto performance - the good bit..... :flame Dev R
  2. Ok, will bear that in mind. Have also mailed a couple of other organisers who to group driver training days. R
  3. Have mailed 'em asking about airfields as they only have tracks on their site currently. R
  4. Yeah good thinkin - I have done track days on bikes and it's close at times. A runway with cones would be ideal. There was some talk a while back of somebody working at an RAF base (disused?) who may be able to gain authorised access - anyone remember that? Or anyone with any other runway contacts :-) ? R
  5. Ok that all makes good sense. I have actually took my ex-supe on the Top Gear track (although they wouldn't film me) - it was miserable wet, standing water but still it gripped better than the poxy 911 they had us going round in. I think a track day that is not balls out and crappily organised but more of a professional Supra-only "training" day sounds like it may be in order..... This could let the confident back out boys hone their skills and the less confident learn from a professional? Who has contacts? R
  6. It seems to me that a lot of Supra drivers love the straights but are not too keen or downright nervous about taking bends in the same style. I am wondering why this is the case? The Supra was noted by many motoring journos for its grip and superb handling characteristics, especially coming out of bends. I like the way it handles, especially if you have had the geometry done properly. Of course I have had my mishaps, but still - it's a car made to handle. So why the straight-line reputation.....? R
  7. Yes this is more like it - let's use this network! Soldering iron at the ready folks! R
  8. I want one too! How can we get this sorted? Someone somewhere must have purchased / made the original box...? R
  9. By speedcam? Do they work the opposite way too? Hope not! R
  10. Wow, quick response fellers! Yeah they were deff Z1s I saw - not seen those Z3s before, they look pretty cutting edge. Thanks for the pics so far! The Z1s do seem to be incredibly well made in the flesh too. R
  11. Hi Folks Still deciding on what rims to put on my Supe - am considering some CCWs from the States (via Terry) BUT I did look at a nice set of the new type of Blitz Z1s today, with the slightly darker internal piece and gold studs - rather sweet Just wondered if anyone had some good qual pics of 19" Z1s on their Supe? Anyone seen some wheels they thought were particularly natty? I like Lamborghini wheels of the Diablo era but dont let that influence you :-) Chee-arse R
  12. Hmm, could certainly have helped me out of a few sticky spots. R
  13. LOL - long hot afternoons with no aircon. R
  14. I bet. Fortunately I did comprehend the joke - but if you had used a better example to illustrate the comedic point - for example, "it would generate more lift than a C5 Galaxy", or even "a Jumbo Jet" then the hillarity-meter may have oscillated in a small way. The advantage of applying such logic to the construction of amusing anecdotes is that it often has the added effect of increasing the longevity of the quip, perhaps even becoming part of common speech. Another advantage is that the image of a Supra, with it's notably large arse, combined with that of a heavy-lifter aircraft is one that can further entertain the passing reader. As an interesting aside, I wonder if anyone has considered fitting a delta-wing spoiler to the back of a Supra - at lower speeds the traditional wing-tip vortices found on straighter aerofoils actually exist along the whole wing - therefore may help with low speed cornering, and grip out of bends. At higher speeds the lower front profile shape would exert lower drag, improving performance. You may even consider building in the Concorde-like camber and twist into the delta - to further coax the elusive vortex effect during all conditions. R
  15. Indeed - so the comment that the wing in question "would develop more lift than Concorde" is moot. R
  16. Technically speaking Concorde was not build for lift, rather to attain high speed with low drag for standard levels of lift. And it was white. R
  17. 4wd? Begs the question.... "why?" :flame Dev R
  18. I detest music when I drive - doesn't matter what vehicle - but does seem moreso in the Supe for sure. The thing is the car IS involving, but unfortunately so is music - I absolutely love music and love driving - so, the two can't co-exist :-) R
  19. damn, I nearly laffed my nuts off reading those threads. they certainly got their niche those Barries R
  20. fascinating, truly fascinating. Now I know why I stick around here R
  21. Hey those CCWs look perfecto - for the Supe too! Anyone know any suppliers in old Blighty? http://www.ccwheel.com/Images/gallery/ltoy-supra-sb2.jpg R
  22. Not sure - probably multispoke - but have an open mind. R
  23. Anyone any ideas on this - for my new supe. Which I am currently liking without spoiler, maybe, um, dont know, perhaps. I would like splitties, probably 18s - with the (thin) outer section looking milled with rivets around the circumfrance and the centre section matt or shiny black. The Lambo Diablo had something similar as an option I think. Anyone...? R
