  1. you could always take this recent advice: http://uk.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUKN0756745220071107
  2. I am told that Moroccan black deteriorates a little if left in a drawer for 3 years, even if wrapped tightly in clingfilm - however its medicinal properties are undiminished R
  3. not for the squeamish... R
  4. how very spooky I was just this evening going to post saying my rev counter had stopped working and wheres the best place to start looking! Hmm, dont fancy bashing the dash R
  5. Thanks for the input chaps - just seeing what the dealer comes back with now, if nothing then it's off the legal route we go! R
  6. *bump* surely someone must have had a similar experience with a car dealer?! Ta R
  7. Hi folks I wont bore you with the long sorry saga of me buying an American style dayvan over the past 6 months... I bought it last November, I drove it for 15 miles after getting my wheelchair handcontrols fitted then the autobox ECU fried meaning no 1st or 2nd gear and it also got water in the oil - the dealer took over 3 months to repair and said I could have another van instead but then changed his mind and said he'd have to sell mine first - which he failed to do for another 2 months - I then got fed up waiting and foolishly had the van back finally 2 weeks ago (need it for festival summer cruising!) and both the main problems that were fixed have re-appeared yesterday on the way bay from Metallica gig at Wembley. I have done the grand total of about 80 miles in it in the last two weeks. The van cost 7K last Nov and I have had enough and just want my money back unless there's a better way of getting this fixed properly and paid for by him without another long wait. The question is this - can someone tell me what concrete rights I have (I know the basics about sales of goods act) but what actual *enforceable* power do I have to get my money back from this guy and move on should he prove to not be accommodating? TIA R
  8. Ah bum - I was sitting about 20 metres from you in that case! Bally good gig - Metallica certainly have kept it alive. R
  9. i have one of these units, fanless, nice build http://www.mini-itx.com/reviews/hush/ interested? edit': mines the 1Ghz Nehmiah core R
  10. Hey cool - where abouts are you based? Have you seen them from the A449 or the back roads? Over in Hertfordshire - bit if a commute to the barns! - interesting north / south divide in Wales then - I guess that's what's keeping the housing market price buoyant in the South then! So no takers? I'd do a deal on them both of course. :-) R
  11. Hmm, nice to see racial tensions still being maintained :-) Fortunately (well at least in this area) the locals seem more than friendly - and it is actually a PLEASANT experience going into a shop or restaurant and feeling like you are actually welcome there. R
  12. Yar, available with either is an additional barn - (78’0” x 42’3”) (24m x 13m) I reckon you can get about 15 cars in there R
  13. har har! I've only heard that one sixteen times :-) It's SUPPOSED to be a medieval style curtained tent thing... hmm. R
  14. Hi Folks Have recently completed my first (double!) barn conversion project over in South Wales and they're now on the market. Take a look at the website and see if you fancy a slice of rural(ish) living! http://www.treworgan.co.uk R
  15. Hi Folks Got an interesting project for anyone who is between contracts / jobs at the moment. We are about 80% of the way through developing / upgrading a reasonably sophisticated web-based service in the schools and general public sector. It's at 80% because the developer we had working on it has gone AWOL (a bit loopy, as good coders sometimes are!) and we can't wait around for him any more. He knows we are handing over to a 3rd party so no hassles there. We have original source code in Visual Studio - it's in C# under .NET2 and has some quite whizzy things in it. If you're interested or know anyone that might be then the drop me a PM! Cheers R
  16. Hey folks, it's that time again - am looking at getting a punchy little machine to handle home-office based tasks, incl photoshop etc. - and running my big flat dell monitor (DVI) I have other machines here for music studio and gaming but fancied maybe one of those barebones shuttle things or even a non-barebones shuttle thing rather than a tower. I haven't built a machine for over a year - the last one was a P4 775 3.2 Ghz thing with 2Gig RAM for music studio work - dont know whats happened to processor market (AMD or Intel) since. Any suggestions? Doesn't need to be an uber gamer thing. R PS. Can't be arsed building anything really
  17. The orange tops have the poles reversed (better for Supra) I believe the standard pillars are wider for UK market - the Jspec terminals are skinny. You CAN get Optima batteries with thinner terminals (with a 'J' in the product code) but I ain't seen any, and I only found this out after delivery (having assumed it would "fit right in"!) http://www.barden-uk.com/optima-high-power-agm-batteries.html Anyway, to avoid future bolluxing around I am just gonna get a local Supra friendly garage to put spade connectors and UK terminals on my leads tomorrow. BTW the orange top was £100 delivered (or cheaper if you wait for ebay auction on earlier link) R
  18. Well I am now the proud new owner of an Optima Orange Top - delivered today - only problem is the posts are too fat for the clips on the battery leads. Didn't you say it fitted right in? Have you got fat clips?! :-) R
  19. Does this battery fit in the standard J-spec battery tray and can it be clamped with the screw strap thingy? Are the posts the correct width for the standard cable clamps too? Ta muchly R
  20. hit "quote" and remove the extraneous lines? R
  21. Hi folks I have a project that is looking a bit dodge for the deadline as the the main coder on it has wound up in hostpital abroad and is uncontactable. (he was working abroad at family home) Just a long shot as a possible solution.... Are there any VB.NET / SQL Server / Web app developers on here looking for a week or twos work that may be able to assist? Could lead onto other similar stuff after this one's out the door. PM or post here please! Thanks folks! R
  22. nowt, slows computer down R
  23. yeh I'mwaiting for the 300ft rocket powered battle robot where you can sit in the chest and fly it. R
