  1. Sent you a PM the other day matey... did you get it?
  2. I introduced a lad called Aston Croall to rugby when I was at school. He since played for Saracens and now a regular member of the Harliquins first team. He also represents England 'A'. Still good friend with him now, his facebook friends are Ugo Monye and Nick Easter Ive also trained with Lawrence Dellagio, Alex King and Josh Lewsey, which was covered on my local news program. I also built a robot for Robot Wars whilst doing my apprenticeship. Got annialated first round but video is here (Diabolus): I was driving (not my strongest point on the team!) haha
  3. Hopefully Ill get some insurance sorted by then and Ill pop along again... Would anyone like 'Mr Tripod' to make another appearance? haha
  4. £350 includes the postage too by the way, I can vouch the postage wont be cheap too due to the size and weight of the box!
  5. My brother left his job last year and was able to bring all his tools with him. He had this bearing puller kit in with his stuff, and to be honest, dont think we are ever going to use it at home. The RRP was about £550 new, and this has been used half a dozen times at the most. Looking at £350 but open to reasonable offers. More info can be found here: http://www.skf.com/files/189088.pdf It may be of interest to some of the professional engine builders or mechanical engineers amongst us. Pics:
  6. Hi people Up for sale is my bros Vi Monitor, he needs to free up money to get his projet finished ASAP as he wants to get everything done on it before it comes out to play Anyway here is his VI monitor for sale, used 3 times at the most (twice to show friends & other time to clear fault codes in mates car), immaculate condition as expected. Some of the features are..... Real time monitoring of up to 15 parameters ** on 3 individual gauges Monitor various parameters like speed, revs, engine load, water temperatures and pressures as well as many more* on 3 individual easy to read gauges. RPM & Speed Warnings with Shift Light Avoid putting points on your licence with adjustable speed warnings. Use the RPM warnings in conjunction with the adjustable Shift Light feature to get the most performance from your engine without over-revving. Self-damping 3 Axis G-Sensor Highly accurate G-Sensor with built-in damping for smoothness monitors acceleration, braking and cornering G forces. Also records maximum G readings. Data Logging Record hours of engine and performance data on any three parameters for review. Then upload your runs to the computer for further comparison. Ideal for measuring the effectiveness of engine modifications, and recording circuit or drag race performance. Lap Timing Simple stop/start lap timing feature allows you to record lap times of any given session for later comparison on computer. Dyno Testing Using a built-in Virtual Dynamometer, VI can test your vehicle’s true net horsepower in real-world conditions. Performance Tests for Both Acceleration and Braking Perform breaking and acceleration tests such as 0-60, 1/4 mile and 0–60–0 to measure your car’s true performance potential. Most tests can be G triggered for unparalleled accuracy. Each test is recorded for future comparison. Descriptive Fault Code diagnostics Got an Engine Check light, but don’t know why? VI will not only give you the fault code number, but will also give you a description of the problem; arming you with more information to take to your garage and limiting the cost of expensive diagnostics. *** MIL Stats Even though VI allows you to reset fault codes yourself, it will maintain all MIL Stats including time and distance since the engine check light was activated or reset. *** V.I.D. Comparison Software VI Monitor ships with VI Application software for downloading and comparing data off of your VI. Compare up to four Performance tests of the same type as well as hours of logged data for unlimited parameters in Monitor mode. Powering the VI VI takes its power directly from the OBD-II, so there is no need to plug in a cable to the cigarette lighter socket. Having just one cable (OBD-II) for all of it's needs reduces clutter in the vehicle. Some pics to show you what its like..... http://www.invictacomms.com/images/default/gallery3/1002/features_realtime_large.jpg http://procarkits.co.uk/images/features_performanceTest_large.jpg Can supply pics of the actual item if requested, at the moment its all boxed up. £225 recorded signed for delivery or £215 collected. This is up for sale on a few other forums so get in quick and snap it up.
  7. Well Ive had another look at it tonight, as one of the guys at work said that sometimes plugs can break down under pressure, so even if it sparks whilst outside, it may not inside. So to illiminate this, I swapped it with another 'working' plug but got the same result. I have also been told to check is the pushrod itself. Normally, the pushrods will bend before the valve does, but I ran out of time tonight to whip the rocker cover off and check. Finally, I removed the offending plug and cranked the car over, obviously alot of pressure and 'some' debris came from in and around the spark plug hole.... but is it me, or should I get a strong odour of petrol or not, or at least a fine mist coming out if the spark plug hole is open? It looked pretty dry in there as i turned it over....
  8. Yes they are printed on the rocker cover... Something like 0.2 0.5, 0.2 0.5, 0.5 0.2, 0.5 0.2.
  9. Originally no, I didnt do the rule of 9, but adjusted how I thought it shoud be then tried the engine and it was still tappety. So I backed them off a bit and started again using the rule - when number 1 valve is compressed, adjust 8, then 2 and 7, 3 and 6 etc etc. And now it sounds fine - better than ever. Just the puup puup noise from the exhaust now! I think I may have bent no.4 exhaust valve the first time around because it seemed to adjust quite a bit... and I had to back it off alot the second time around... I forget which way round it was but one was 0.2mm and the other was 0.5mm
  10. Ive just done a head gasket change on the gfs Ford Ka. Simple enough.... But then I tried readjusting the tappet clearences and I think I cocked up a bit as the car now seems to have a misfire. One of the valves needed adjusting quite a bit - so I thought, and by my thinking, Ive adjusted it too much and gone too low and the piston has come up and bent the valve slightly. The engine does sounds sweet as in the bay (well, as sweet as a KA engine can sound), but there is a puup puup puup noise coming from the exhaust. The 'ticketty' tappet sound had disappeared too. The other thing which I noticed was that when you disconnect each HT lead, the engine dies, except the 4th cylinder. By my thinking, there is no compression, because the valve is out of its seat, so the mixture is just seeping out through the exhaust and not causing the engine to stall....? Would the bent exhaust valve be a likely diagnosis for this problem?
  11. Probably Sam. Met him at the meet the other night at Bluewater. Black, stock looking with gunmetal 5 spoke wheels?? Hes on here as 'Samuel Weller'.
  12. Hey people Heres the photos my bro took last night at the meet, had a quick edit & blanked out plates as some people dont want them up and picked out the best of the bunch. Enjoy......
  13. Was a great turnout last night. Im going through the 74 photos my brother took (the fella with the tripod.) Looks like there is some good pics on there.....be on here soon! TJP, your right...I had nipples that could cut glass!
  14. Gonna bring my brothers camera and tripod along too. 10 hours to go!
  15. Is it a Dixie horn...or better still...one of these:
  16. Ill try and make this one too (Im only 20 mins away) ...and bring along Russ (the Raven) and Colin (themodifiedkid)
  17. Pancakes with lemon juice, syrup, ice cream and sugar...Its a taste sensation! A heart attack in a pancake but luurrvely!
  18. DC5 handling is sublime...longest I had ever kept a car (2 years), and the most fun....except the Supra on a wet roundabout. And even then, the DC5 was a bit tail happy from time to time. Probably wouldnt fit into your price range though. So DC2 would be a good option, the only problem being, its 200bhp not the 300bhp you require. I remember an article from EVO magazine where they were looking for the 'Best Drivers Car of all Time' http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/cargrouptests/204801/mclaren_f1_v_ferrari_f40_v_pagani_zonda_c12s_v_lancia_delta_integrale_v_bugatti_veyron_v_honda_nsxr_v_porsche_997_gt3_v_nissan_skyline_r34_gtr.html McLaren, Ferraris, Porsches, you name the supercars they were there....then suprise, suprise the DC2 was there too.... Can get a real nice one with low miles for 5k too
  19. Pm me mate with an offer...P+P maybe a bit as its heavy(ish)
  20. I have an o/s/r shock with standard spring. I needed the n/s/r shock but bought a pair at the time, so this one going spare. Interested?
