  1. Loved my 6-speed SZ-R, lovely cars and as stated the best model for a turbo conversion. I personally fancied putting a V8 in mine but got offered a good price in the end. GLWS.
  2. http://pistonheads.com/sales/2326958.htm There you go. Seemed cheap for a black manual to me too. Im always lurking on PH and AutoTrader looking for cheap NAs. Been afew cheap aerotops the last few months, feel my wallet heating up again!
  3. This hasnt sold yet? Id pick up a 1UZ V8 for a couple of hundred and slot her right in there. Id like to do that to an aerotop too though.
  4. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201102376889803/sort/priceasc/usedcars/price-to/5000/model/supra/make/toyota/page/1/quicksearch/true/radius/1500/postcode/eh209rt?logcode=p Usual apologies if it belongs to someone on here, but it looks like Daniella Westbrook sans corrective surgery.
  5. Couldnt agree more. Id be very interested in a black manual NA around that price, but without mileage, condition, history details etc... Get those details in and youll get lots of interest.
  6. Have to agree having owned a couple of very impractical vehicles in my time. My 6-speed Supra had a Do-Luck front, and whilst it wasnt particularly low it was a car you had to be awake to drive over speedbumps, ramps etc. Also owned an SS-II Celica which was on Tein coilovers and was super low. Had a chance to look at the underside afew times when it was on the ramps, but always declined as I knew there was serious scrapage under there. It got to the stage with that Celica that I ended up taking other cars to places if I wasnt sure what they were like (multistoreys etc.) Your car does really suit the Do-Luck front, get it fixed.
  7. Agreed, owned this car for well over a year and never had a single mechanical issue. Drove straight and true, and handled as well as any other Supra Ive owned.
  8. Importers with a dodgy reputation. My experience of them was good, but then if the car was crashed/ repaired and I never knew about it...
  9. I should probably come in here and say that I knew nothing about this myself. I bought the car from WRC in Bradford and there was absolutely no mention or evidence of crash/ repair. I had alot of cosmetic stuff done to the car, new bumper front and rear etc. and my bodyshop guy never mentioned any signs of a previous crash. This car is absolutely fantastic, possibly the best motor Ive owned and it drives totally straight with no faults (when I sold it). It looks like Matt has improved it a bit since purchase too. I toyed with breaking it because of the V161 etc. but that would be such a shame as the bodywork and paint are so immaculate. Another SZ-R owner on here spoke about selling off the gearbox etc. and putting the money to a TT conversion and cheaper box. If the V161 still goes for the money it did when I owned the car, it would pretty much cover the TT conversion- just a thought. GLWS

What about people who keep a set of stock wheels in their garage for winter/ trackdays? Are they welcome?

Wheels and exhaust are acceptable mods I believe even to purists. So long as they are sensible (ie. no 'twin exit' exhaust systems, no cheesy chrome wheels etc.) then why not? Fair enough, the OP wanted to hear about totally stock cars, but how many people on here are really bothered about a Supra having aftermarket wheels and exhaust? Whenever you read about Supras in 'mainstream' motoring journalism (EVO for example), the one thing thats always mentioned is the huge tuning potential. As with any iconic car its always nice to have original examples, but sensible, tasteful mods never do any harm IMHO. Forgetting all that, I wonder how many ultra-rich collectors (Jay Leno springs to mind) have mint original Supras in a bubble somewhere? Toyota presumably keep afew somewhere too.

Wheels and exhaust (do dials count?) and feck all else. Miss my Supras...
  13. Its the girlfriends' 1.4 Seat Arosa for the mo, as were moving to London in the next couple of months and cant justify a big, thirsty car (Supra!). Would like an S2000, but theyre still too expensive. Might hold off for a year and pick up a clean early one before next summer. Love the Vtec noise with a good exhaust and the top down!
