  1. I can see your point but you obviously think like me, you want to stay in the nice house etc. You view buying a house and having to take a step down because you wouldn't afford as nice a place. By logic though the person who owns the house you rent is better off in the long run, if you see where I'm coming from. Short Term, your better off renting, nicer house, more disposable income, less risk from household disasters like unepxected mantanence etc Long Term, better off owning your own property, money to be made from value increase, long term investment etc. My point is that after a lot of thought I have decided that the property owner is better off in the end if he makes wise investments
  2. Pretty much the decision thoughts I had mate, I've rented for almost the last 2 years after owning a couple of places, I've now got pissed of with paying out 26k in two years to live in someone elses house and have bought another myself. The house isn't as nice as the one I've moved out of, but its a development project so not too fussed I think there comes a point when you don't want to keep paying out with no return. Renting you'll always have a nicer house to start with but when I think I could have paid 26k off a mortgage in the past 2 years, i'm done with renting now
  3. best way to do it 5 houses in 5 years is my current plan Unforunately th boom that happened when I had my first two flats is no more, but property is still a safe bet if you do your homework
  4. I thought it was all over the news recently that the part own scheme was being opened up to all
  5. look into the gov part ownership schemes
  6. Try looking at properties in need of work Perhaps you could try looking at a development project over a period of time to help you get on the ladder (and you don't always need a deposit mate) I agree though it depends what they will let you have as a max mortgage amount, you might have to move out of the area, Stokenchurch is quite cheap I think
  7. I've just bought a flat for 165k in holtspur, beaconsfield, it a refrub project though, needs a ton of work doing before I can develop it and sell it on. Try moving one or two junctions up the M40 or save up for a bit
  8. I left elephant, with a letter saying I had 4 years no claims after a 10 month policy. I was insured with them on a partners car, then bought my own and wanted to take out my own policy. They gave me one years NCB as a intro bonus, then 2 years instant NCB because I had been a named driver on a claim free partners policy for 2 years, so when I finished my 10 month policy they gave me a letter which said I ended my policy with 4 years no claims. Letter said nothing about a 10 month policy, niether should yours
  9. more money !! I'd buy it through work then I won't get charged the delivery
  10. It will half in value each year I would think
  11. I would imagine Rx-7s are rarer and a bit more exclusive
  12. DaveRex

    is this a scam?

Its a 100% Scam mate, no doubt in my mind ! what a tosser for messing with your auction
  13. I used a fair bit of fuel, probably not half a tank, but damn close 100 miles is half a tank pretty much
  14. you would need to pay from when you got the car, unless its been sorned your tax reminder says what to pay or else your SORN renewal will have it on
  15. Morning Gents et all I was in the Red Rx7 that joined the Supra Massive for the South Mimms convoy Good to meet TerribleTuner, met up in Chalfont then went to South Mimms then on To Huntingdon All went well until we came to depart Huntingdon Travel Inn, not 30 minutes from the venue. Everyone started their engines and started to roar out the car park.......... Apart from me who sat with a clicky clicky noise instead of a running Rex, it wouldn't go then the alarm realised something electical was afoot and proceeded to sound continuously no matter what I did ! Anyway one switched on RAC man later (cheers RAC excellent as usual), and I was on my way again !! Turned out to bea poor connection by the fuse box, soomething as simple as that !! Annoying isn't the word ! Anyway good day, cheers guys ! Dave

  18. isn't it the shared ownership scheme for key workers
  19. I'm in the process of buying as leasehold property in Holtspur, Beaconsfield as a development project Its the first leasehold I've bought, all I'd say is that you just need to go through the terms with your solcititor. The only issue I am having is planned works (which the seller is paying for) and a tree that is near to the house which I might need to get rid of, its just little things like that you need to sort out who has responsibilty for what I don't understand the comment above to avoid ex local authority buildings but anyway good luck !
  20. If you see a red Rx7, that me I see a few Supras on my way to work etc
  21. a colleague of mine has just retruned from a Nile cruise with a visit to Cairo, he has nothing but good things to say about the place He said that the markets all have the usual hassle but nothing major
