  1. hi buddy I actually insure a jap Rx through elephant and am happy with them and they are bloody cheap for me anyway, i don't think it made a difference if it was import or not with them for the RX when was getting quotes for import and uk cars I used adrian flux, AON, Tesco are also very good for jap imports, you should try them tbh i went with a jap car as the insurance was not an issue, I just wanted the jap version, generally they have more toys etc and sometimes in better nick perhaps at the end of the day I didn't notice an amazing amount of difference in insurance prices but perhaps I wil be proved wrong by someone who has looked into it in more depth than me my previous car was a UK 2.0 GT mr2, when I was 18 all uk ones are GT, the N/A jap equivilent is called a GLimited. for 7k you will pick up a very nice UK car, the turbo (jap only) is obviously more in insurance costs Great car, after '94 revision is circa 174bhp at fly. mid engine fantastic handling, did eat rear tyres a bit, new set every 6k miles easy to mod, though you have to spend serious money to get turbo like performance, very good reliability, change oil for decent synthetic and it won't give you any probs imho Dave
  2. someone correct me if i am wrong but it might be hard to find a decent uk supra for 7k, in your dads name? Dave
  3. Don't dismiss imports too quicki, I am 22 and notice no difference insuring them tbh Dave
  4. woohoo Paul E me ol mucka I'm there, though I'll probably be parked with those rx-7's Dave
  5. oh right, yes I see what you mean, mine isn't one of the intelligent ones though , its just stays on for about a minute I think its set at Obviously I only leave mine running on private land Dave
  6. Hi Just a bit confused with a post earlier ion this thread You can't have the CAT1 alarm armed while the engine is running? I have a Clifford Alarm and I can leave the engine running, then lock the doors and arm the alarm using the remote, then i can leave it running and walk away knowing the car is locked and alarmed I thought that was the whole point of them, otherwise you may as well just sit in it for 2 minutes Dave
  7. My BM has the same problem sometimes on cold mornings, try running the car for a few minutes in Neutral before starting off Cures it on mine Auto boxes don't like being cold Dave
