  6. Top meet guys!, even though it rained and I only had a t shirt with me Big thanks to Paul E, although that won't save him from me posting the pick of him being jump started when i can find it Dave Rx-7
  7. hi mate I just got mine you can get breakdown cover from RAC on their website for about £7.62 if you are a member, standard membership only covers UK breakdown Dave
  8. I'd give Paul at Cartronics another try, he did a very good job and he's been very helpful since fitting mine (and Snowmans) get his moby number from the office Dave
  9. just a quick thought, spoke to my dad about going on the tunnel the other night and he reckons if you have a very low car you have to tell eurotunnel in advance so they can have special ramps to get over the metal humps etc Is he right , might be worth checking? Dave
  10. Paul E They'll check your boot at customs son!! "are all these parts for your own use sir?" Dave

  13. I am going though the same thought process at the moment with the car being booked in next saturday I have the choice of a organic clutch keeping the std flywheel or a cera-metallic clutch with lightened flywheel my understanding of it is that with a organic clutch it can slip, so its recommended to go for a metallic plate as these do not slip though are obviously more expensive lightened flywheel means the engine will rev quicker, however won't make a difference to top speed etc though could benefit initial acceleration downside is it may slightly affect economy on long journeys as there is less spinning momentum in a lightened wheel meaning the engine works more to keep it spinning I expect to be corrected on this so thats why I am writing it so I get the right answer Dave
  14. track day insurance included in the price I believe for one Dave
  15. yeah I have it on my desk now, I will probably buy the laptop interface soonish when I have played with this for a bit the laptop interface is a lot easier to use for settings maps etc but the commander lights up and looks so cool!! just downloaded the english manual, thats a lot of paper! now where to mount it thats the question Dave
  16. Not sure if the AEM one is out yet, to be honest didn't consider it I got the Apexi Power FC, which has a very good track record with the Rex, has boost control built in and holds it very well so far, touch wood! just got the dash commander delivered today so will hook that up later Dave
  17. Hey Bobbeh Yean I went down for a seesion at G Force with the Rexy chaps on saturday Last time I had stock 215bhp at the wheels, now I've upped it a tad Changed the ECU for a mappable one, new downpipe, got rid of the cat, new intake, exhaust etc Its yet to be mapped properly, si I expect to see a bit more soonish Dave Chucking money down the pit again
  18. not sure why it is really , theres a lot of dispute over whether its a 1.3 two rotor engine x 2, which makes it a 2.6, i think thats why its classed the way it is actually the cc displacement is 654cc x 2,so its a 1.3 confusing ain't it! Dave 1300cc 271.7bhp at the wheels
  19. yeah insurance companies strangely enough are having none of it, they class it as a 2.6, so it brings the premium up! Though I did give it a go! Dave
  20. check out the lists on http://www.fduk.org, there is a buyers list which will help you reliability is fine touch wood, trick is to find a nice example, change the oil every 2500-3000 miles, check oil and water regulary, service it properly, don't abuse it, do sensible mods in stages so you don't blow it up and away you go! all rotry engines will need a rebuild at some point £1500-£2000, think of it as a cam belt change which tbh is just as expensive on other super cars they are quite expensive to run, but pretty much, as with the supra (have to get that bit in as a guest on this board) anniliate most things on a road/track oh and its taxed as a 1.3! Dave
