  1. the reg really isn't a accurate way of getting a quote for your car
  2. perhaps ask Liverpool Victoria to have a word with their underwriters and see if they fancy the risk or not you might get further than the std automated computer response
  3. well I am on a Rx7 so not really worth me posting a comparison, but I pay 1700 with some mods so its can't be that bad
  4. £1800 ? Isn't that a good price ?
  5. Elephants 10 month Bonus Acceleratorscheme left me with 4 years no claims after 10 months ! I had previously been insured with them but as a accident free named driver for a year or so. I decided to insure a car with them in my own name, they gave me a years introductory no claims then 2 years no claims because I had been with them accident free named driver for 2 years, so after the 10 month policy they provided me with 4 Years Proof Of No Claims Bonus Indeed ! Dave
  6. but you can be sensible about it For isntance telling them you have a different steering wheel and carbon fibre interior door handles will do you no favours yet are easily changed should anything happen
  7. Tesco's For ages though, and before anyone ask I have checked it all out, been with them for a couple of years remember its an Rx-7 not a supra as well
  8. can't you get "show car" ocasional use policy somewhere It depends how in depth you want to go with informaing them about modifications some places wack the price up if you list more than 5 or so I have full kit, engine mods, 18's, lowered etc etc, I'm 23 with a ban and pay £1700 so theres got to be some hope for you
  9. you'd think that given you have given them the year of the car and that MK3's were not made in that year thaqt it would be their problem if they get it wrong
  10. well I have a Rx-7 with them but I see your point
  11. Interesting stuff, not could for people wishing to get insured now
  12. yeah the over 25 thing is certainly true for elephant and tesco who unfortutely for most in that bracket were the cheapest Dave
  13. http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/...55&page=1&pp=20 from reading this it seems that any car is now going to have problems getting through the SVA if it has any modifications at all
  14. Just shows the judgements for speeding is totally random and dependant on the mood of the three ever so wise men sitting in front of you
  15. wait and see mate, you might have up to a year of happy motoring yet before anything happens and even then you might find its not as bad as you think
  16. you need to tell them as soon as you are banned if you are the only driver of the vehicle they will then make the decision whether to keep you on cover. if you are the only driver its unlikely they will want to insure the car if its not being driven won't know until. a. it happens. b. you ask them Dave
  17. by the way a 28 day ban made didly squat difference to my insurance renewal
  18. you might get a ban some points and a fine, its purely at the discretion of the judges on the day if you got a ban, you'd retain your three points though, although you might be lucky and only get a ban. at the end of the ban (depending on how long they've been on there for) you'd still have 3 points I got away with a ban and no points, I angled for a ban cos I didn't want the points on my licence IMHO expect up to 12 months ban, a fine and no points get a brief, they are worth their weight in gold, and mine was a fat b*stard !
  19. there were quite a few rex's on the Mazda Stand I saw the Rally Blue New Shape one go off on the corner, gutted
  20. Good Day out, although no supras at south mimms which was strange Got talked into getting on track when I arrived, someone had some spare passes, but as expected failed the noise test, aparantly 110db is pretty loud ! Only saw Paul E in the end, saw that scooby fly off, felt sorry for him Make sure you guys are at Rotorstock next week !!! Dave
  21. I'll probably meet you guys at South Mimms, as long as you don't mind a few rx-7's joining in the convoy fun
  22. no I was lying its true, they will only take renewal business not new, there have been a few posts about it on various boards recently, ring them and see !
  23. I think elephant have now gone the same way as Tesco/direct line in the past month and changed their underwriting policies. They won't insure under 25's on modded/high performance
