I'm digging this topic up a bit as I sit with the exact same question as Noz back then. My front right shock is worn out so I'm upgrading to some aftermarket setup so, on a budget, I'm considering bc racings, hsd's and meister r's. The car is uk spec stock, may slide to bpu this summer but not much further.... it's my daily car and track is not my main concern :] After reading some stuff about noisy BCRacin's I may go for the price-wise in-between Meister R though...

Thanks for the explanations! This is more or less what I had in mind, ad the end of the day it's yhe tyre width that matters, difference on rim width only helps fitting correct-sized tyres, hence 9.5j all around could suit with let's say 265/275 rear and 245/55 front, only difference against a classical 8.5j/9.5j would be the front tyres to be more stretched, if I got it right... Forgot to mention I have a stock UKspec TT, no BPU whatsoever so far.... @Lude, what tyre sizes do you have if I may ask ?

Alright, this may be a stupid question but as I have about no wheel-knowledge... I'm looking for new wheels and therefore I'm hitting a whole bunch of question marks about offsets, arch clearance-tyre size etc.... Some of the options I get is to have the same rim width front and rear (IE 9.5 all around) Very seldom Supes seem to have non-staggered setups, just wanted to know how big of an issue this could be... ? Sorry if this has already been covered somewhere....

Hi there ! All is in the title, I'm after either : - a nice set of 19" OR - 17" wheels + stock-size tyres I'll consider both options depending on price, design, condition etc.... (19" will have to clear stock UK brakes) Anyone ? (sorry if I double-crossed with supra chat section)

for sale SWAP. 19" Wheelmania Vortex R Wheels WHY?
Kaamos replied to monsween's topic in Parts for Sale
it all depends on when you are planning to get your new set..... Do you have a hint of how much would be the shipping to france ? -
or option No 2 : find a decent set of UK stock wheels for the winter time and get a new 19" set when weather and budget are nicer....

for sale SWAP. 19" Wheelmania Vortex R Wheels WHY?

Hi ! I need to change my alloys and yous could do the trick..... Unfortunately I don't have anything to swap them for... how much would you like to ask for your wheels ? -
Thanks for the hint HateEvent, I'll get in touch with him just in case... still, I'd like to go for new and not used wheels if budget allows me to.....

Hi there ! The life of my wheelmania rims has come to an end and I urgently need to change them (tires loosing about 0.5 bar/day) Unfortunately I can't spend thousands£ on them atm so I'm looking for a "budget" setup. I'd like to keep 19", possibly (looking for 8.5front/9.5 rear). I'm pretty happy with the design of my current wheels (bolts all around, darker center against chrome "outside".... sorry, my english is not accurate enough to describe an alloy properly haha) but I'm open to other suggestions. I can only consider shops that are able to ship to France and I'm looking for a max 1300£ price tag wheels + fitments + tires + shipment, or rims only and order the tires elsewhere for 400 or so... PS : I have the stock UK brakes.

Sounds interesting ! Could a ranskalainen Supra join in ?

thank you for confirming merckx if there are some buyers around, part is 27€58 which is about 24.3£ I've been announced a 48h availability... fingers crossed......

Thank you for the information, Hodge.... Thing is : I'm more worried about the part number than about the price.... I don't know if he gave me the right N#, he seemed neither convicting, nor convicted himself.... and to be honest it would be the first time I get a reliable information from them :/ All he could tell was like "order them all and you'll get the one you're looking for in the bunch"..... Yah right, then it may become expensive eventually...... Likely to be part No 87245-1B300 (heater water inlet) Anyone ?

Hi folks ! A water hose from my stock tt comitted suicide yesterday, leaving me with a nice puddle of coolant.... Thing is, I tried to sort it out with toyodiy diagrams but I'm not quite sure..... according to my local Toy dealer, it's turbo water hose No4 (part # 12287-46010), but on toyodiy diagram it doesn't look right..... Could someone confirm/correct ? Thanks in advance

Thank you all for your informations and links. Jim,here in France, things don't go that way... local toyota dealers are completely unable to provide any helpful information but telling me to call the national technical center, which I did. Not only can't they help with extended studs for these are not oem parts and therefore has nothing to do with them, but also were they unable to give me any detail about the stock ones. Their only answer was "we don't need to bother with such technical details, all we need to know is the part number to provide you the right oem part and it will fit". The only detail they could gice me about the stock stud was it's..... weight !!!!!! how helpful ! I must say I was quite disappointed/ashamed by such an answer

thanks for sharing the drawings, these will be helpfull when time for new spacers comes! back to the topic, does one know the total length and the thread length of a stock stud? i found 67mm ones (total length) but i fear they may be too long for my 8mm spacer... but i'm hopefully wrong
-
Thanks for the already helpufl informations....... I'll try to make a picture asap to help you understand the situation, but that's what I can already add to the topic : -let's put the rear wheels aside for the moment as the spacer is thinner and the studs semm to be standing out enough anyway. -the wheelmania rims apparently do need the spacers to clear the UK brakes, I'll double check it while making the picture but I fear I can't cope ithout the spacers. Speaking of the spacers, pardon my english but I don't know the exact technical terms..... but as far as I remember, the rear spacer is not hubcentric, as Nic mentioned, but has a separate "ring" to make it fit. As for the front one, it remained stuck to the rim when I removed the wheel and I haven't investigated so far, but it's remaining stuck to the wheel makes me think it must be hubcentric.... again, I'll check it when I take the wheel off again to make a picure..... DnK, thanks for the link, but I still don't know which knurl diameter to go for

Hi all I noticed lately, while changing my front brake discs, that my 19" wheels (which were already fitted on the car when I bought it) were mounted with spacers BUT with stock studs on, which are then too short. As a consequence, bolts had been fastened too strong to compensate for the lack of grip-length (I hope my poor english is making it clear here....) and now 3 of them are just....... gone [sHOCK][/sHOCK] That being said, I (quickly) need to get new bolts and longer studs but these guys seem to be as rare as unicorns here in France..... all I can get are Mitsubishi studs which are compatible, according to my local dealer, but VERY expensive..... Could someone here confirm that the Mitsu studs will fit on the Supra and/or give me a link where I could order some, from a uk webshop for instance? I understand that I need 12x1.5 studs but I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to the other specifications so thank you all for your enlightenments.... (5mm spacers rear , 8mm spacers front)

My front active spoiler system is working well but the spoiler itself has fallen, plastic is broken in numerous places and I don't thing I can fix it properly so I'm going for the "find another one" way..... Anyone ? (+shipping to france, possibly) Just to make things clear because I don't know if my explanations are and I don't know the exact name for that part in english, it's part No 76852C.
-
apparently yes, but supras are so uncommon here in france that on behalf of a "special order" i also get the according "special price" haha.... *checking out http://www.eurotunnel.com*........ More seriously; I may check with local Mr T if he was not mistaken, MAYBE he gave me a quote for front AND rear discs, but I don't think so.........
-
Thanks for all these hints ! ---> DnK, are you sure about your figures ? I got a 450€ quote from Mr T for a pair of front oem discs WITHOUT taxes...... or maybe it's just my local dealer who is high on something strong ? A friend of mine also told me about Dixcel brakes http://www.dixcel.co.jp/en/ does anyone have a feedback on them ? At least the "literature" part of their website appears to be rather informative......

Hi all, I'm about to change my front discs + pads (stock UK tt / 19" alloys). Of course I could go for oem part but maybe I could take advantage of having to change them anyway and improve the result..... so any advices welcome, knowing that I'm gonna stick with the rear stock brakes for a while as there is still much meat on them so I don't know if there are some balance issues and so on.... sorry if this has been asked already, then I missed the related post....
