Hi folks ! I'm diving into this long-lost topic, does anyone here know of a nice hi-res or vector file of supra blueprints with OEM skirts and rear spats ? thanks
-
Thanks for all your comments/compliments ! Not yet, but I'm taking care of this soon

Hi folks ! After my long quest for new wheels, I finally dropped my old mania rims for a set of Rota Grids from Whifbitz. These are 19" steelgrey, et38 all around, 8.5 front running 245/35/19 - 9.5 rear running 275/30/19 +1cm spacers front stock body, no arch-roll, no rubbing issues except minimal rub on full lock Car also sits a little bit lower from stock on it's brand new bc-racing coilovers, also from Paul (thanks again ) here are some nightfall pictures, I'll try to have some decent daytime shots soon.....

Thanks for the link David P, sounds much useful ! I'm not quite sure what to do with this wire but thanks for sorting the pink one from the blue one
-
PM'ed The Raven : thanks, I'll be looking for this guide

I went to a couple of toyota garages a while ago, they couldn't "un-mute" the diagnostic ports for they didn't have the elecrical diagrams for the supra, so this was never sorted out....
-
Mine is an UK-spec and beside the cruise-control and active spoiler I didn't notice anything wrong so far, except it has been rarely intermittent for 2.5 years and now for 2012 it became constant Robzki, thanks for these details.
-
David P, thanks, but I forgot to mention that both diagnostic ports are mute SPG-26, thanks for the hint but no Karolina : this would explain why, from time to time, cruise control doesn't work and active spoiler behaves weirdly (unfolds at 10mph and stays inside doing 80)

Everything's pretty much in the title..... My OD/Off light has always been flashing from time to time, rather rarely, since I bought the car... but for the last week it has been flashing almost constantly every 1 and a half second or so..... Any clue of what this could mean ?

Yeah I know Xmas-time is not doing me a favor delivery-wise..... Anyway, as to eiretyres, it's a german company (Delticom), same as mytyres = 123pneu(france) = reifendirekt(germany) In a nutshell, this company got sued by the other one you are mentioning (pneus-online.com) for they used a similar, misleading url (more infos here http://www.google.fr/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=123pneu%20germany&source=web&cd=10&ved=0CHQQFjAJ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.caselex.com%2Fexample_pil&ei=dpj0ToGrEdLY8QPDlYHaAQ&usg=AFQjCNFsOrvOp4dGnu3UnkMoS-YpHTwFgQ&cad=rja). This + the problem I got with them (see my "mytyres, stay away from them" thread, title speaks for itself) make me quite suspicious about the way this company is ran. Back to the Proxes T1 S/R confusion, this is what I came upon......
-
I asked Camskill yesterday but they can't guarantee delivery before begining of next year anymore, while I'll get them from the french company by monday. I would have gone for camskill If I hadn't been in such a hurry though, I'll remember them next time I need rubbers
-
The prices I mentioned are for a set of 2x 275/30/19 including delivery from france to france. It would have been little cheaper ordering from the UK but I unfortunately can't afford the extra delivery time atm. And yes I'm taliking about proxes T1 Sport, not T1 R

About the longevity of both tyres I often read very contradictory reviews I must say... some say the Falken will last longer, some others foresee a longer life for the Toyos. There seem to be kind of a consensus though, about the toyos having more grip.... Either way I guess I won't go wrong with any or them PS : sorry for the possibly silly question but what does WOT stand for ?
-
Set of 2 toyos is £400, falkens are £340 (at least where I'm ordering them)
-
Sorry for this new "which tyre is the best" thread. For availability and price reasons I've narrowed my choice down to these 2 models I'm stock, daily use. Thanks in advance !
-
I was surprised as well. This warranty only works if the tyre are defected, which is the case according to the garage who diagnosed them. If the consumer is responsible for the problem (wrong inflating pressure etc.....) then it obviously doesn't apply. Had they replied straight away that they couldn't replace them, there would have been no problem at all though....
-
E-mailed them but unfortunately they can't ship me the tyres before next year But I'll get back to them next time.
-
Maybe some of you have already ordered tyres from them and were happy with the service, but I thought I just had to share my personal experience....... I had ordered tyres online from other webshops before without any problem but for my 2 previous orders they were the cheapest so I ordered through that company. I got faulty tyres TWICE ! (but this is not the worst part). I ordered a pair of accelera 233/30/19 front and one of the tyres kept loosing pressure regardless to what rim it was fitted on. They changed it for a new one without too much trouble but I had to spend a week on the spacesaver wheel, how great ! Now the "plat de resistance" : I ordered two Falkens Kk452 for rear wheels (265/30/19) and about a year later when I walked under the car to check for coilovers replacement I noticed that the right tyre was swollen at at least 4 points on its inner sidewall, and the left one has a continuous circular crack in the rubber (inside wall as well). Tyres being still under warranty I call mytyres's french hotline for a replacement, explain the problem and they told me the garage would get the new tyres within 3 days/1 week, then I just have to go there for a swap, and I got an e-mail confirming that my 2 replacement tyres were in stock etc, this was on december 14th. A couple of days later, to make SURE things will be handled beforet Xmass (so that I can go on holiday on safe tyres), I call them back and get another confirmation . 1 week later, as I was still waiting without any news, I call them back again and then I got a completely different story. I'm told that no complain had been made about my order and that they can't swap them, I have to send them back to get a refund and then order 2 new tyres, expected for delivery next week. How the hell am I supposed to send my 2 faulty tyres BEFORE getting the replacement ones ? In a complete stalmate with the guy from the hotline, apparently polish or something like that and obviously not fluent in french att all (as well as his 3 previous co-workers), I asked for a responsible : him - they don't speak french me - what langage do they speak ? him - german me - that's fine for my, I'm fluent in german, Deutsch kann ich auch sprechen him - ......... yes but they don't answer phonecalls me - give me an e-mail contact then, please him - they don't have any me - are you sure they are running a webshop So after like half an hour the guy finally comes with this solution : I order 2 new tyres, pay for them, they send new tyres to the garage, I drive there, have the tyres swapped, leave the faulty tyres at the garage's, they collect them and then do a refund. So I ask, why then can't you just do like I had been told by your 3 or 4 co-workers before you and simply swap the tyres without having me pay for another order ? "yes we can do this as well, but it's gonna take longer to get the tyres delivered" "why?" "......because" So, at the end of the day, all I have been told since dec 14th was apparently plain rubbish, now I have to wait until the middle-end of the next week to get tyres that won't kill me. Subsequently I can't go on my christmass holidays, how great ! Looking at how this all was handled I have no confidence at all oin my possible refund and don't want to order my new tyres there, I'll have them alsewhere and try to just get my refund from mytyres. Still, I won't get tyres before next week and can't spend Xmass with my family, screw you mytyres !

**please remove, I hit the "post" button twice, sorry**
-
in case it hasn't been posted yet, this car has 19" grids 9.5j et20 all around
-
This indeed doesn't look very streched so I assume a 245 should still look ok At least not as stretched as this, which I clearly don't want because of the look and the lack of lip gard
-
So maybe it's more a matter of difference between front and rear tyre width than just the absolute width on each drivetrain.... 9.5 all around with 245front and 265/245 rear would be fine then ? without archroll i guess/hope ? So why bother with staggered setups ? (which I was already wondering about in this topic : http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?259182-New-wheels-staggered-or-not&highlight=staggered)... it just makes having balanced tyre width easier without stretching them too much and that's it ?
-
hehe, seems I'm not the only one that don't like the flat face that much.... unfortunately I couldn't find a way to avoid them so far.... Jamie, thing is, with your 9.5 all around option, it bothers me for 2 reasons : - I'd have to stretch the front tyres quite a lot on 9.5 rims if I want to keep a decent difference between 265/ish rear tyres and 245-ish fronts, and this is not gonna look very good imo(but then flat face rims won't either so..... either way I'm trapped) -Rollin the arches is really something I don't wanna go through atm because I have neither the money nor the time to do it, and I know no trustable company to take car of this in my area.... I'm already struggling to find a place to fix my boot hatch and it's not an easy job (I mean, finding a workshop, not fixing the boot). Monsween, I guess 265 is fine on a 9.5 rim but then probably big for the front.... plus, then how wide would your rear be ? I was told minimum tyre width for 9.5j rim was 245, max 275, ideal being either 255 or 265 edit : sorry for double-posting you jamie, I was writing my reply without noticing there was a 2n page in this thread now

Another question for the offset-gurus out there, if I may take advantage of this thread.... I'm after a set of 19" rota Grids, 8.5j front 9.5j rear. 8.5j front seems to be et38, flat spokes, not concave, too bad but it's the only option I have. But the rear wheels 9.5j come with either et38 or et20, what's the best option to run the widest tyres without rolling the arches and getting that nice concave look ? (and to clear UKbrakes)

Forgot to mention : a friend of mine has BC Racings on his Supe, gotta ask what setting he's on because yes, handling is nowhere near my stock worn out suspensions, BUT when he took me on a ride I just felt like I was sitting on a 600 hp bench haha edit : he has them on the stiffest setting
