Alex, the forum dislikes txt speak for a reason, Its difficult for members to read and understand. No one is taking the piss out of you and the comment about know it alls is a load of rubbish. Primers used so that the paint will adhere in a flat fashion. If you spray onto fg then your finish will vary.

You can get plastic primer,metal primer, all sorts. You will be fine with using car primer mate.
