  2. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you mate. I haven't had a chance to catch up on this until now. I went to get some pictures for you from the cam & gear thread I posted when I first decided to break the car. Turns out I've already sold the cam gears too! Can't even recall enjoying the money.
  3. Are you sorted for cam gears? I've a very nice set of Works gears for sale, if you're still looking.
  4. Christ on a bike. I hope your fire suppression system is tip-top! And your anti-intruder system consists of dogs, lots of big, mean, hungry dogs.
  5. I'm nothing if not patient! Best of luck with the project anyway Ben. I'm sure it'll be fantastic.
  6. Oh for sure. But we get a lot of rotational electrics (alternator and starters) repaired in our line of business (forklifts) and we see a lot of the replacement components used failing long before (as in within 12 months) a decent used or new replacement unit might. It seems to be a common issue. I did have a new replacement alternator for the 1JZ fail within a couple of hours of fitting, but it was replaced with no questions, as a new unit is covered under warranty, whereas a repaired alternator is a bit of a grey area. They can always claim it was some other part that failed this time round. Sometimes a spurious new replacement doesn't cost much more than a service on a twenty year old unit.
  7. It depends on what the issue with your own alternator is. A set of brushes, a regulator or a bearing or two are easy fixes for any place doing alternator repairs. But something like a worn shaft or barly burnt windings make a repair uneconomic.
  8. I don't recall needing spring compressors for the CW Bilstein swap I did Carlo. Once the chassis is supported, the sway bars disconnected and the wishbones are free to droop to their lowest then I think it's just a question of bolt out & bolt in.

  10. What a total arse of a design!! There's a button on both sides of the frame that need to be pressed while pulling on the headrest.
  11. Hi Phobos. Was looking at my bumper yesterday and the formed exhaust section is in perfect condition. I could offer you that piece with about 100mm of untouched bumper material around it, if that's of any use to you.
  12. So the shell rolled out of my life on the back of a trailer yesterday. With it went the fuel tank and headlights. Might be time to close this particular thread and start a new one with the few remaining odds and ends that are left. Thank you one and all who've felt comfortable enough to send me money in the hopes of receiving something worthwhile in exchange. I sincerely hope that none of you were disappointed. Damien.
  13. Best wishes to driver and passenger for a full and speedy recovery. Can't imagine a pelvic injury being particularly easy to come back from 100%, but at least there is no mention of head or brain injuries for either of them.
  14. I was looking for £500 for the tyres delivered mate, due to them being sat here for a couple of years. But I believe I may have a deal done at this stage, for the wheels & tyres, to someone here in Ireland who's looking to exchange them for other forms of quirky two-wheel mechanised transport. I'll update the thread, when I've gone to see what's on offer, on whether the wheels and tyres are still available.
  15. Possibly, would need to check where my own modifications ended. I'll let you know during the week.
  16. Give me a shout if you can't anything closer but I should be able to sort you out with both the foam and the trim if you need them.
  17. That probably cost nearly what a new Supra would, especially if you sourced it South of the border. Looks lovely man, even on the stock rims.
  18. You know that they're not a staggered set? That all four tyres are 285/30/18? I'll message you now with more derails mate.
  19. Still have these for sale. Along with an unused (still got the labels on) set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres, 285/30. And a brand new (in the box) tyre pressure monitoring system from Tyresave. It's the same unit that was bought by several members in a group buy some years ago.
  20. I'd imagine not dude, when compared to the cost of the kit. And the unexpected cost of a second! It's such a quality upgrade, as all yours tend to be, that it would be only proper to have it professionally fitted. It's money saved in the long run. As you say, bolting it on would probably be simple enough, but it's all the little things that experience has taught a specialist that separates them from us and their successes from our cluster-f**ks.
  21. Not doubting your abilities to wield a spanner mate, but have you checked with Paul regarding the validity of the warranty on the turbo and the rest of the kit if it is installed by someone "uncertified" to carry out the installation? And I think all manufacturer's warranty is out the window unless the engine's lubrication system is given a clean bill of health after a thorough inspection, to see if it is in need of any attention, prior to plumbing in the turbo, to minimise the risk of contamination and premature failure.
  22. This man is talking sense. Just ride on the basis that almost nobody can see you and those that can are hell-bent on killing you. That covers most everyday situations and it's working for me so far. Plus a healthy dose of reality and imagination usually keeps me from riding the bike in such a manner that I end up being the offender/pleb.
  23. Actually thinking about it, I'd have no problem dropping everything and just taking to the road tomorrow. The real problem would be explaining to the wife and children why they aren't coming!
  24. I'll find out and get back to you.
