  1. I thought the same to be honest, but it will definitely polish up nicely at 1080p.
  2. For those who enjoy a good FPS, I think it's going to be hard to ignore. Don't mind me mate. I'm just hungry and bored whilst waiting for my Domino's to be delivered. I've done a fair bit of research on the PS4 and I haven't been all that impressed by the lack of launch exclusives and their main titles. Killzone looks promising, but I remember buying into the hype that was Killzone 2. Jesus that game sucked.
  3. I've got a load of mates on Xbox and they're all going with the XB1. I don't see your point. "Marketplace" You completely missed the point I was making. My PS3 has a lot of Sony technology in it, also. Link? PSN on the PS4 hasn't even gone live yet to millions of user and you're stating it's a better online service. Reserved bandwidth is an option on any mediocre router. It also doesn't compare to dedicated servers. That one shot over the cross bar, I'm afraid. I agree. Sony have done a grand job at sitting back and watching Microsoft take a load of flack then changing their policy and coming out as the good guy. Like I said before, if the PS4 lives up to the hype, I'll get one. I honestly think Amazon and eBay will be inundated with pre-owned PS4's when the kids realise the exclusive content for the biggest games will go to Xbox first, as per usual. Your points are whack.
  4. Bit rude not to.... more TitanFall: [video=youtube;rWgWn-Ithlg]
  5. Didn't really have time to reply properly before.... just my take on a couple of Xbomb things: Before the fanboy outcry and Sony capitalising on it, Microsoft were actually attempting to release a 'next gen' console, but thanks to all the bitching we now have what is essentially a PS4. Prior to the U-turn on the DRM policy the Xbox One would have downloaded all updates, games, content and installed them offline. Something anyone who has owned a PS3 should have been jumping for joy about! I'm not talking about background updates that'll cause performance issues years down the line when the games will require heavy lifting either. You could have allowed up to ten friends access to your entire games library online -in which you could have played those games together simultaneously- over Xbox Live. Your entire games library would have been with you 'on the go' merely by signing in on someone else's console. You could have gifted digital games to friends... in my case, instead of getting in the car and driving to Basingstoke with the physical copies of unwanted games, I could have allowed my nephew complete access to my games via the cloud. All this whilst digital & physical games were still allowed to be traded. Being honest, I was like "Yes, farrrking, please!", but, no. No one seemed to take an honest look at the deal as they jumped on board the good guy Sony bandwagon.... all while it transpired that Sony was actually planning the same DRM policy, but purposely waited to see how it went down after Microsoft announced it. Nevermind, the fanboys won. I've got my glorified 360 coming and it's based on my history with both companies, owning both a PS3 and 360. Just my opinion, but Sony are incapable of developing a decent UI, their marketplace is a joke and the online experience has been weak compared to Xbox Live. Xbox has repeatedly dropped the smacked down in every department... hardware, developer support, UI, exclusives, exclusive DLC, indie games, marketplace, dedicated servers, game server reliability, companion apps and here's a biggy: security. 'Never quite got round to thanking our good guy Sony for leaking my credit card details online. Useless twats! If you've made it this far - thanks for baring with me. One other thing that swayed for for Xbomb: TitanFall: [video=youtube;cvPqn7FN-RM]
  6. Have only skimmed over the thread since posting, but people conclusions based on playing on a game on both consoles, false information regarding the Xbox DRM, etc. The plots seems to get lost in blind loyalty.
  7. Some crazy posts in this thread. People seem to lose the plot over console wars.
  8. Xbox One + Forza 5 + Dead Rising + BF4 is all preordered. If the PS4 lives upto the hype, I'll pick one up pre-owned as I have no loyality to either side. I own both the 360 and PS3, although it has to be said, the PS3 is mainly used for blu-rays.
  9. Yeah, as Dnk has said, 8x4 sheet of ply will work. The stong arm will have 3 points of contact with the ground and the legs will be wide apart for stability. Would recommend taking the bonnet off as well, dude.
  10. Engine out would be easier anyway. Hire a decent strong arm, get some short straps and she'll come out no worries.
  11. Haha, mate, anything shiny and I want it. Trying to be head strong, but I know the cracks will start appearing if I see other members cars and the power they're packing.
  12. Hmmmm, you bring a good deal to the table. Being honest, it wouldn't be this side of Christmas if I did. I'm currently mustering the funds for the car I've seen so, if all goes well, get it, get Xmas out the way and then plough into it in the new year. I have told myself I will not let another Supra own my wallet, but you could be right.
  13. Ahh right. In that case I think I would go for the £2500 short motor from Toyota option and put my head on it. Forged would be nice, but it would definitely be wasted on me.
  14. That is good news, mate. How much does a forged motor cost? Any ideas on suppliers? Cheers.
  15. Piston rings are designed to wear. The bores, unless there has been some serious over or under fuelling, or oil starvation, generally don't need machining. Just run the honer down there and you are good as gold. Re-boring cylinders and fitting oversized pistons is a sure way to piss away a lot of money. The same applies to the valve seats. It's subjective, but some people who merely want to assess an engine and replace the wore parts wouldn't even touch the seats unless there was an issue. I could send them away (perfectly fine) and have them come back in a worse state. It's just more needless expense, but don't mind me. Crack on, mate. I'm going to leave it here. I only wanted to find out if someone here does an overhaul kit and how much the price was, instead of debating what qualifies as an "engine recon". Honestly don't even know how we got into discussing what parts need to be changed. All I know is that I would be fuming if someone charged me for machined bores and new pistons if the current ones were fine... on top of disturbing perfectly fine valve seats at my own expense. Apart from the obvious, one of the biggest reasons for stripping this engine would be to see how it has been running, as well. A lot can change in an engine build upon assessment. It would be nice at least to see what's been going on a replace what needs to be done. Being honest, I still don't know how much reconditioning an engine will cost. If forged is cheaper (which makes zero sense), I will more than happily go that route, although it would be nice to spend that additional money on the tuning instead as I'm never going to need uprated internals for the power I'll be running. Time to get online and build up a quote for the parts needed, me thinks.
  16. 200k. Baring in mind this would be my new car. I don't fancy taking the engine out after 50k.
  17. I'm no expert, but I have rebuilt a few engines... maybe I'm missing something, but why? Depends on the crank, but I would cross that bridge on assessment. At the moment I'm just after a rough price of engine rebuild kits. Of course, plus timing belt, tensioner/crank pulley and the other obvious parts. As previously stated, I have a friend who would do the skimming. I wouldn't regrind valve seats unless there was a compression issue. Which serves the point of this thread. Maybe according to a particular set of guidelines set by a specific company, but I'm no company and it would be for my own use. Re-boring with over sized pistons and regrinding valve seats ISN'T all that important for me at this stage. Of course, upon assessment of the internals, that could change, but for the time being, they're not factors. A couple of the jobs you've mentioned.
  18. I wouldn't be interested in going the forged route and would plan to do the rebuild myself... (and with the help of any local club members ). Would the block would need machining? Would definitely skim the head, but I have a friend who could do that.
  19. Hi mate, I've edited my post to be more specific. It would be to service the internals on a high mileage motor. No need for valves, rods, pistons or the block itself.
  20. Hi, I was just wondering how much a engine recon kit would cost for someone wanting to strip an engine to be reconditioned. I guess it would be: Cylinder head assembly (gaskets and oil seals) Bottom end assembly (shells, big ends, rings, gaskets and oil seals). The only uprated part would be the head gasket for the option to run more boost later down the line. Cheers.

    Nailed!!

What brings people to vandalise another man's car beats me. I'd drive a nail into the persons kneecap if I caught him.
  22. "Over-rated" and "Couldn't hit for toffee" are outrageous statements regarding Ali!! Ali wasn't just the fastest, most accurate puncher in the heavy weight, he also had the best defence, counter, leg work and most of all... HEART! Ali was immense in every sense of the word.
  23. I've given this fight a lot of thought and have come to the conclusion that it all depends on whether or not each of them would have prepared for each other. If you just took them both and put them in a ring, I would go for Tyson stopping the fight inside of 4 rounds. I could see Ali falling victim to the devastating speed and power which is on a bigger scale than what Henry Cooper (the guy that put him down) had, BUT..... If Ali knew of Tyson's punching power and speed, I think he would have been able to take Tyson into the later rounds that he never experienced in his prime. In these rounds I think Tyson would run out of answers and lose steam... from there on Ali would then sting him until he either hit the canvas, or lose severely on points.
  24. Tubbies wouldn't make much boost on idle.
