  1. Isolator switch for the battery is the way to go for cars that don't get a lot of usage. Your alarm could still be powered from a permanent live.
  2. Yeah, good for cosmetics and keeping leads away from moving/hot parts, but must be allowing contact with the engine. Has the OP sorted this yet?
  3. Sony can't be trusted to protect users sensitive billing information, that's for sure. The PS4 is also being built in China by students who are forced to work for free. Microsoft abandoned this manufacturer after they used them for the 360.
  4. Haha that's wicked. I wonder what the range is and if it would pop a balloon? I would have fun with that at an event.
  5. I never had this issue with my old NA, but it sounds like something they're starting to suffer with nowadays (ones on original leads). I take your word on it from your own experience. It's just something I haven't really come across before... although most of the cars I've owned don't run the leads across the engine.
  6. Mine is the 60gb, 4th gen model (I think). The George Foreman PS3 complete annihilates the 360 in a fan sound-off. I don't watch DVD's on my 360 because, although it's quieter, it doesn't upscale as well as the PS3. Plus, the 360 is in my man cave. Yeah, the engineers screwed up with the heat management, no question. I had friends who had to send theirs back for repair. I've had a repair and upgrade kit in my cupboard for the last 5 years just in case. I haven't thrown it out as I know the 360 will pack up then.
  7. No one said HT wouldn't cause issues if they need replacing and I agree that they're a serviceable part that does, indeed, get neglected. I'm all about for public forum debates, although it gets sketchy when someone dictates their opinion on something pretty speculative a fact. I rule out HT leads by getting it running and popping off each HT lead until I find the missing cylinder. If the problem is across the board, I would go straight to the distributor. If it's running on 5, then I would pop the spark plug out of the offending cylinder and check the strength of the spark (if there is one)... followed by a clean, re-gap and popped back in. If it's still not firing, I'd swap the spark plug with a cylinder you know is chugging away just fine. Still not firing? Do the same, but with a HT lead. That's pretty much how I'd assess the ignition system, including the HT leads. You're probably right that the leads haven't been changed so it wouldn't hurt to replace them if that's the case.
  8. To be fair, the 360 would have passed the trials with flying colours as, like the yellow light of death on the PS3, it's a problem associated with long term usage. I've been pretty lucky with mine... had it 5 years and no issues. Same can be said for the PS3, although I have to watch a film with the volume cranked to try and drown out the noise of the fan.
  9. The advert where the Golf sheds a tear springs to mind. If this project happens, she has to be named What a Mess now... http://www.sausagenet.com/i/p/299-0.jpg
  10. Someone had a go at changing the ignition barrel and gave up... ? God knows.
  11. Big respect to dr_jekyll for giving it a shot.
  12. Thanks for the feedback SPG, was thinking exactly the same thing, but wanted to be sure before attempting to negotiate the price. It certainly looks clean. Fingers crossed it's as good as it looks and he's realistic about letting it go.
  13. What do you guys think of this NA? http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/supra/toyota-supra-1994-3-0/1762679 I've requested more pictures, but in the meantime... what would you pay for it? Cheers.
  14. Sounds like the best way to gauge the resale value Abz. Here's hoping the car is still for sale now...
  15. That's encouraging to hear. Kinda want this shell over being limited to what's out there in the factory TT market.
  16. Ahh, that's what I was thinking. I have seen NA-T's up for sale and asking big money, but wasn't sure if they were actually achieving it. The good ole search button police! I consider myself busted. All joking aside, I have used the search button numerous times in researching what the conversion entails. I just wanted a relevant answer to today's market regarding reselling.
  17. I'm currently thinking about buying an SZ and transplanting the TT lump and gearbox in, but I have a couple of questions... Firstly, how are SZ TT's regarded in terms of resale? Personally, I wouldn't careless if it was me buying (if the car was solid), but I know in certain car communities there's an air of: "Well, it isn't a genuine factory model therefore it's not worth the money.". I have seen an SZ and frankly, it's fucking lush. It's the right colour, has been garaged it's entire life in the UK, has tasteful mods and the body doesn't have a blemish on it. Needless to say, it would be worth more to me once converted than forking out 10k for a factory TT that's in worse condition. And, lastly: What sort of money do high grade NA's go for, nowadays? Cheers!
  18. Don't agree. Corrosion build up on rotor arms & points, as well as spark plugs fail more often than HT leads.... ... But, hey... I didn't realise this was a competition. I was merely offering 'advice'.
  19. Sounds like your ignition system could do with some TLC. Clean dizzy - clean & re-gap spark plugs - assess HT leads.
  20. Halo will go down with the classics that shaped FPS's as we know them. No doubt. The Division looks insane. Love how you can have a friend assisting if they log in with a tablet. I think Drive Club looks like a promising new (and much needed) driving franchise for PS. It's no Forza, but will cushion the blow for Xbox peeps who are jumping ship.
  21. Behave. I would take "Halo: Combat Evolved" on the original Xbox over Killzone II. Straight up. You've also heard of Gears of War, right? Granted it's third person, but for a shooter it annihilates BoreZone. Go back to dreaming!
