If you didn't the tool would be redundant/wouldn't exist. If you say you did, you were part of a percentage that didn't require the tool. The point I am trying to make is that uninstall issues surrounding McAfee has been going on for years and isn't a new thing with Windows 8. That pretty much summarises bloatware to me. The bloatware in question is also down to the OEM and not the OS licencee. It had been, but users requested it's return funnily enough. As a result it was brought back in some cases. Not trying to be a pain in the ass or anything, but I still don't see a lot of difference between the 7 & 8. But, I agree with you; this is boring... ..... as for that crappy Playstation?! That's a different matter!! ;)

In that case, you didn't fully uninstall McAfee. Again, you need a removal tool for McAfee in every version of Windows. Bloatware is also something that has been around for years. I think its fast and the gestures make for easy navigation. Metro is great for touch and the live tiles are quite useful. What's best is that you can completely ignore all of that if you want and operate in desktop mode.

You ripped Win 8 off because of a third party application? You realise McAfee requires a removal tool in order to remove it from all versions of Windows, right? You would have had to go through the same steps on Windows 7.

Thanks for the detailed criticisms. The metro homescreen is merely optional. As my laptop isn't touch I use it to pin all my favourite apps and nothing more. As for the normal desktop mode, it's just a polished Windows 7. There also aren't any compatibility issues as there were with Vista.

If you're planning on re-shelling, I would recommend finding a reasonable NA manual shell. Must be loads out there and will save you hassle.

THIS. So many people are quick to hammer Xbox that half the time they don't even qualify what they're saying or posting online. Like you said, it's not a dig at anyone in particular, it's just a common theme among gamers. What makes me laugh is that when PS expose users credit card information including email and home addresses, it kinda gets brushed under the carpet. When there servers can't cope with the big releases and lag like hell, or in some cases, just take a shit, it's all good in the hood. It's Playstation after all. A lot of people complained that Xbox Live charge for your online subscription, but you can guarantee the same people aren't vocalising any upsets regarding the PS4 doing the same now. You got'a love the Playstation loyalists.

Whilst looking for a new Supra, I found 6sp Jspec TT's that were a grade below mine were priced up to 2k more than my UK spec auto. I have every intention to upgrade to a manual 6sp as, it's my preference, and it'll increase the value of the car.
