I'm tempted to keep my eyes peeled for a cheap single turbo (seen a few going for around 7k) and break it. You'll get all the bits you need and claw back a bit of cash on other bits.
-
Cool... maybe stick to Friday then, unless it starts pouring down. That sucks James. When are you expecting it back?
-
haha you know how to sell it! I'm well up for coming up next time around. Will hopefully have the stance sorted by then as well. No more granddad spec.

Weather is looking a bit dodgy on Friday... Hang it out or do Sunday?

Whats the stupidest diy job you've done on your supra/car???

PMSL. I had a face full of gearbox oil when I removed the prop shaft from my old 200sx. Didn't taste so good to say the least! -
Sorry about that. And to the OP. A thread full of horse manure.

Keeping it vague, I see. "haven't done the proper ground work" and "read it elsewhere" are very different. Either way, you can't back up your claims. Indeed. I've already explained how we got here. So far you still haven't substantiated how "I just think the PS4 is better, I don't think there is much of an argument against that, I'm solely basing that on factual information released from both manufacturers". I have no idea what you're talking about here. How? You're so fixated with specs that you won't accept that, unless MAJOR differences, they aren't what makes or breaks an entertainment console. By spouting a load more nonsense? Please tell me how the end user experience over specs is nonsense? You said the PS4 is better because of the specs and there isn't an argument against that. I have stated a valid argument, but you clearly don't want to hear it. You attempted to debunk the 'end user' argument with "Well, the PS4 can do that and more" which later turns out you can't substantiate that claim so you'd prefer to talk semantics; of course you didn't say anything was game changing... you didn't even address my point in the post in question. Thank you. That wasn't hard now was it. Of course there were other features, optimisations and various other add-ons, but in no way was it a fix as you suggested. Yes, one of the main points of criticism of Win 8 was that you got in a paddy because you couldn't uninstall McAfee. Stupid, I know, but out of courtesy I took you seriously and stated it wasn't an issue exclusive to Win 8. Baring the point you made in mind, I brought it up regarding your assertion that Window 8.1 was a fix. You're implying I was called out to give information when so far, you're the only one here who has been called out and back-tracked with conflicted statements of not doing background reading and, I read it somewhere unofficial. The link I gave you was my take regarding the original DRM situation of Xbox One. Nothing more. I just couldn't be arse to write it again. On that point, "M$" weren't just after money, they were actually attempting to release a next gen console. Something Sony had intentions to follow as well. I recommend taking a leaf out of your own book and stay away from those unofficial channels before farting it as gospel.

Of course I knew your "I forgive you" comment wasn't serious. And, yes, of course I was going to write that; it was frickin obvious. I wasn't intending to lead anyone into a false sense of security... I wasn't even aware you were insecure/not comfortable about it to begin with! My comment regarding sarcasm was merely another joke. Which points in particular? Is this code for: "I was just making shit up" ... ?? I stated the many reasons why specs aren't the be-all and end-all in relation to your conclusion of which console is best to buy on paper. Your post: "I just think the PS4 is better, I don't think there is much of an argument against that, I'm solely basing that on factual information released from both manufacturers". That statement isn't speculative at all. I later stated why I (IMO) pick the Xbox One and you, yet again, pulled another statement from thin air: "PS4 will do just about everything you have mentioned and more. Some of the new features available are a breath of fresh air and it's fantastic that Sony are sorting out their prior mistakes. A comparison of user features has the ps4 ahead also". I asked for details regarding the comparison of features, but you stated that you don't know and that I should read up about it myself. All this whilst accusing me of talking shit and not backing up my statements! Without knowing what is being suggested, I can't really comment. I do, in fact, like how the PS4 looks to iron out a lot of my gripes I had with the PS3. Sure, they've copied Xbox yet again, but as a potential customer, if it makes a better console, I don't really care. I just won't jump on the Sony is great and Xbox suck bandwagon which is why I'll happily challenge for a fair debate as to which is console makes for the best buy. So you're up for having another stab at the hardware argument. Sure... trying not to go round in circles here, but I haven't read anything that is game changing for the end user. BTW, they're both running the same x86 octa-core CPUs. So, let me get this straight... you're telling me Win 8.1 is a bug fix? I guess Windows Phone 8 and iOS 7 were also bug fixes too! I already have. Finally, we agree on something. My point was that you wouldn't bother reading anyway.... your words. "When a person is insane, as you clearly are, do you know that you're insane? Maybe you're just sitting around, reading "Guns and Ammo", masturbating in your own feces, do you just stop and go, "Wow! It is amazing how fucking crazy I really am!"?". I tried. Definitely more important things in the world. I still have one of my original Xbox controllers... I use it as ballast for dyno days.
-
I hope you didn't break a nail when playing on that manly Xbox controller.

haha console wars, religion & politics always bring out the best in us. I'm all good... just a newbie making friends.

It was a joke mate. I was trying to lighten the mood after you decided to get personal with the "you're making this up" BS. There you go with the "you're just making this up" nonsense again. I see a larger hammer is in order. By your own standards, it's sounds like you're making shit up to me. Smells fresh from the bull's ass to me mate. Ground work? Much? I'm sorry, but it's widely acknowledged that Xbox Live is the daddy of online gaming. Just do your homework. hahaha you're actually effin nuts. Must be more sarcasm, surely. Your words: "It's my opinion that, at least on paper, the PS4 is the better console to buy by quite some margin". RAM is the only real difference in terms of hardware. I've asked for these other notable differences, but you're now telling me to do the reading myself. Adding more customisation and options to a new OS still isn't regarded as a fix. It's an update no matter how you'd like to spin it. God knows what this guy is on about then .... ?? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?297692-Xbox-One-or-PS4&p=3753389&viewfull=1#post3753389 I love being called a bullshitter by someone who could blag the cacks off a Nun! No offence mate, but you come across quite confused and very dismissive. Says the man who doesn't even read the links I give. It's very apparent who's making stuff up. This is getting boring. Thanks for clarifying. Consistency would go a long way in your arguments.

The NA-T's and NA-TT's are representing. Very nice! -
Pretty cool behind the scenes for Ryse.

Sarcasm, quashing nonsense... just services I'm happy to offer. Playstation may do them 'some of them', sure. My point was that they won't do them as good. I'm intrigued to know what hardware (collectively) illustrates the better console for the end user? I also still don't understand how hardware is the hard 'n fast formula for supremacy in the console race/war? It was something brought up by SupraDan to which you hinged your argument regarding which machine is 'factually' better. Still boots into Metro UI. Also, no changes made to how you uninstall programs; it wasn't a fix. It was an update. Two things. This and Sony also had the same DRM intentions for the PS4, but they sat back and waited to see how it would go down with consumers before doing a quick U-turn and making out they're bringing power to the people. As per usual, Xbox take the risks and come up with the features and Sony follow behind. Just look at the PS4's UI. Xbox much? I think the 'out of the packet' thing works well for Apple. Some people just want things to work so they go to Apple or Windows Phone... others want endless menus and customisation so they opt for Android. It's good to have a fix for everyone's needs.
-
Sarcasm not a strong point, I take it. I cannot argue with your own basis for which is better, but generally speaking, there is a massive argument for which one is better. Like I said before, RAM isn't everything in the grand scheme of things. Sure, you can say the PS4 will have the edge on graphics, but for multitasking, dedicated servers, online service/marketplace, exclusive games & DLC, apps, compatibility with your PC, security and generally being an all round entertainment power house, I pick the XB1. It's all about the user experience. I don't understand how you conclude which machine is better due to one aspect of it's ability (RAM) and write-off the Kinect (which is cutting edge technology) as a fad. It's bonkers. All they have done is add the start button and expand on what was already there. Apple came to dominance by playing the monopoly and convincing the sheep that what they put out is revolutionary. All Microsoft are doing is attempting to unify apps across all devices. Those same apps are available to multiple platforms, unlike Apple's restrictive eco system. If MS were attempting the monopoly they would use their biggest tools (Office, Xbox and Skype) as exclusive apps to Windows. They could have also done a Google after acquiring Skype and kicked everyone out of their accounts and forced them to sign up with Outlook in order to keep using it (Google's Youtube takeover). Tellme is already Siri with a different voice - Cortana is something completely different... but each to their own, I guess. Some people will use it, others take a while to adjust to new technology.

On a side note, although I doubt I would have one, I love BGW's on the right car. With the look you're going for, I think it'll look awesome. -

High pitched whistling from throttle body. *FIXED*
Big Supes replied to FOSTA's topic in mkiv Technical
Have you thought about spraying the throttle body with a gas leak detection fluid? It might point you in the right direction. -
Cool. Hopefully the other peeps are still good for Friday.
-
Hella yea! Erhm... Friday, right?
-
Weather is looking ok in Southampton for Friday. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
-
Sounds good to me mate. Won't be up this Friday, but well up for trying to get a little convoy up there another time.
-
I would put 2 hours aside... M25 on a Friday night might add to that as well.
-
haha I'll roll up with a McDonalds milk shake and a baseball cap balanced on my head. ... the good ole days.

Jesus, that many?! Maybe I'll have a snoop next time if it's not pissing down. Might take my Renault 5 GTT down there for some fun. The Supra is a little bit tame at the moment.
